How big is baby? Acorn Squash, another site said a gallon on milk and that just seems huge to me.
Any appointments this week? nothing until this coming Tuesday
Symptoms? RLP and back ache
Cravings? still sweets and citrus
Rants/Raves/Questions? This is more of a nervous vent/anxiety I have. I went through it last time with DS2 as well. As I am approaching the 30 week mark, I just get really anxious about another preemie. I have faith that even if that were to happen LO would be fine because both boys are rockstars and neither have had any long term effects. But seeing as DS1 was in the NICU 40 days I do start to worry about what I would do to split my time with home and hospital if need be. I know once I pass the 30 week mark everyday the anxiety will slowly diminish.
GTKY: What's your idea of a perfect day? The perfect day for me is an outdoor walk in the park or the neighborhood, followed by DH grilling out while the boys and I chill and play in the back yard, listening to music. Then ending the day with a little bonfire in our fire pit. We love spring and outdoor weather time and can be outside all day long.
@mcvgal - It must have been really hard to see your son in the NICU for so long so it's completely understandable to be anxious about passing that time mark this time!
How far along are you? 28 weeks.
How big is baby? Eggplant
Any appointments this week? I had one this morning and it was not fun. I only saw the doctor for a couple of minutes for the standard measuring and all that, but my glucose challenge test was not fun. The drink didn't taste as awful as I remembered, but I got very nauseous about 30 minutes after drinking it and especially while the nurse was taking my blood. I think she took 5 tubes (I had some other stuff being checked today, too, so I probably had more than would usually have been needed for the glucose test). I nearly passed out and had to lay there for a good bit after they brought me water and peanut butter crackers. Then I got my Rhogam shot in the butt....for added fun to my morning. Ha. On top of that, both DD and I have bad colds so I'm just not feeling really great today. The doctor said I should get the results of my blood work in 2 days, but that's the weekend, so I'm not expecting to hear anything until next week. Boo.
Symptoms? Fatigue throughout the day, which I spoke to the doctor about. She's rechecking my TSH (I have hypothyroidism), but thinks it's also probably due to waking up so often throughout the night. She recommended trying out a half tablet of Unisom to see if I can get better sleep at night. I'm not really loving that idea because I don't care for taking medicine unless there are no other options, but feeling so tired all day is not fun. I shouldn't be this sleep deprived until AFTER the baby is born!
Cravings? Nothing in particular lately.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm excited to be in the 3rd trimester!!
GTKY: What's your idea of a perfect day? Sunshine, temps in the 60s/70s, and a weekend away camping with my family.
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
@mcvgal Sending lots of positive vibes that you'll have a full term baby this time.
@march2008 Oof, sounds like quite the appt day. I need to get another rhogam shot at 28 weeks, too. I've never done the glucose test before and don't know what to expect, so I think I'm going to do it on a different day so I don't have to deal with the double whammy.
How far along are you? 26 weeks
How big is baby? Kale
Any appointments this week? Nope
Symptoms? Aches and lots of tossing and turning at night.
Cravings? Still sweets
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm pretty sure there's going to be a major upheaval at my current workplace around the time I leave. I mentioned this briefly in the randoms, but one of my bosses is going to assume the manager position when I leave in order to save money. None of the rest of the employees are happy about this, and there are at least 3 people who are likely going to leave around the same time as me now because of it. I'm trying not to care, because I'm going to be switching to a SAHM, but I'm honestly worried about what this will mean for the business. I don't think this boss understands what she's in for (she owns the business but has never been hands on), and there are some things she's not going to be able to do. It's too complicated to explain fully without writing a novel, but I was really hoping for a relaxing few months left there, and now it doesn't seem like that will be the case. At this point, I'm kind of just hoping I'm out before sh*t hits the fan.
GTKY: What's your idea of a perfect day? A slow morning with a cup of coffee and a scone, sitting at the breakfast knook. A trip to the beach and a relaxing day around 75-80 degrees so the water feels nice. A visit to the local sweets shop, then dinner at home with H. Snuggles with the dog and cat, and some cross stitch while we watch TV.
Any appointments this week? Had one yesterday for the glucose test and a regular checkup. I was only able to down 9oz out of 10 of the drink because I couldn't stop gagging. I had lemon lime and the taste is fine (flat mt dew) but it made my throat burn. The first time was easier for some reason. I had such an energy dip afterward. Lab results should be uploaded by tomorrow.
Symptoms? Hip pain when I sleep sometimes. I had a twin size 1" foam for when my mom would visit so I placed that on my side of the bed and after a couple nights Ive been sleeping better. And baby is higher up so less trips to the bathroom! Gotta enjoy the little things while I can.
Cravings? Nothing specific comes to mind
Rants/Raves/Questions? None. Do any of yall feel a ticking or something though? Its too fast to be hiccups and based on what I read its baby practicing breathing in and out fluid. I dont remember this from my first so its an interesting sensation.
GTKY: What's your idea of a perfect day? 75 degrees, balmy winds, a nice leisurely hike to beautiful sceneries then a good meal out afterward for dinner. We used to do this back in CA before considering kids. I miss the hikes and mild weather there.
Any appointments this week? Not for another week and a half
Symptoms? Baby has really been moving this week! Every time H tries to feel though, baby stops moving. What a little stinker. I finally am almost over my bad cold so I can breathe normally again, that feels great.
Cravings? Sugar all the time, but I've been pretty good about not giving into my craving.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm a little annoyed at H because we have a long holiday weekend ahead of us, but he doesn't want to use the time to work on the list of projects we need done around the house. None of the projects need to get by a certain time, just before the baby gets here. I can't do any of the projects or get any of the supplies myself because we need to make the decisions about the supplies together. I know H wants to spend time with me this weekend, but again he doesn't want to plan anything. I know if we keep putting these projects off we're going to be in a crunch to get them done later.
GTKY: What's your idea of a perfect day? A day that it is warm enough where I can wear capris or shorts and a tank top comfortablly would be great. I wouldn't have anything to do except what I wanted to do. Maybe do some sewing or some reading, take the dog for a walk, spend time at home. Then either H and I would go out for supper and drink good beer or we would grill out at home and drink good beer. The night would end with H and I sitting around the campfire enjoying the peaceful weather. I really miss summer. I hope I can have one or two "perfect" days this summer with H and my baby
Appts this week: Tuesday I took the 3 hour glucose test. Today I had an appt with the anesthesiologist at the hospital (required if you're considering an epidural) & my regular OB appt. Unfortunately I found out I did not pass again & have GD. :-( I came home with a script for a glucometer & supplies. BIG SIGH. Not gonna lie, I cried in the car.
Symptoms: Sleeping is still terrible. But feeling so much movement, I love it!
Cravings: taco soup, Nutrigrain bars
GTKY: I think a perfect day would be sleeping til 8:30, spending the day out hiking & visiting museums with my loved ones, delicious food of course, and ending with a trip to the movie theater.
@n&a0630 sorry about your GD diagnosis. I had it last time and found a huge support with the fellow GD moms in my BMB. I do not have it this time, but I am still trying to stick to the diet for my own health. Hopefully once everyone starts getting results our board can get a weekly check in going.
@mcvgal - Wow! 40 days in NICU?! I don't blame you at all for having anxiety, that must have been incredibly hard! @luckywife10 - I hope you're able to get your husband to come around! Mine thought I was crazy because pretty early on in the pregnancy I made a Google Doc of things that had to be done, and kind of bluntly told him "I'm not mentioning these things again, but they need to be done and if I'm the only one working on it you can expect me to be cranky"! How far along are you? 29 weeks
How big is baby? Acorn squash
Any appointments this week? I have to do my three hour glucose test this week
Symptoms? I'm exhausted, but I think that's the result of some crazy work hours. The deal to sell our assets closes tomorrow, and so I'm sitting at the office now. I've been here for almost 13 hours already, and there really is not an end in sight yet.
Cravings? Sugar, which I should not be giving into...but I have been, just in case I fail the 3 hour test.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm hungry, and feel like my company should be providing dinner to all of us who are working late against our will....instead I'm ordering a Panera sandwich and being grumpy about it.
GTKY: What's your idea of a perfect day? Right now? One where I spend the night (alone) in a hotel, wake up when my body is ready, and then spend the day lounging in a spa being pampered to death.
Any appointments this week? nope, but went to the dentist and got a crown
Symptoms? She must have been on my sciatic nerve again this week, but luckily only lasted a day this time! Thanks baby Exhaustion, sore hips/legs, lack of bladder control when I sneeze haha
Cravings? SO MUCH FOOD. Sweets and carbs. I thought I'd be prepped for pregnancy cravings after being on birth control for so long...but no way. I'm still on track to gain 25lbs for the whole pregnancy (although doc wants 30-35), but the last few weeks I've gained 2lbs/week and it needs to slow down. I just want to eat everything!
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm just so done with work. There's so many issues throughout the whole place, plus I'm just tired. The hours, policies, and work required are ridiculous and just not sustainable, but there's good maternity leave so that will be very nice!
GTKY: What's your idea of a perfect day? 70s-80s, very very slight breeze, grassy rolling hills, mountains in the background, animals peacefully roaming about, an abundance of wine and cheese, and a LOT of sleep
@ChristinaWild I totally should have done that too with a Google Doc! I think I will write a list on a colorful sheet of paper and hang it on the fridge. That way he can't miss it. Plus, I can encourage him to add to the list too
Any appointments this week? Nope, not until March 8:
Symptoms? Migraines from hell. Swelling in my ankles (bought some compression socks that seem to help). Insomnia. Braxton Hicks. Lower back pain....basically all the lovely third trimester stuff.
Cravings? Diet Coke
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing I can really think about
GTKY: What's your idea of a perfect day? Fishing on the lake
@luckywife10 - haha, yes! I think it irritated my husband to have a list at first, but then I pointed out he could add things and he got kind of excited. Silly man!
Any appointments this week? I had a routine one on Wednesday with my midwife, everything went fine . We will now be switching to appointments every two weeks.
Symptoms? Leg and hip pain = horrendous night's sleep, every night. I wake up every hour it seems.
Cravings? Chocolate, and I've given into them a few times
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am so tired of turning from side to side all night. I am looking into getting a mattress topper and possibly visiting a chiropractor. It's hard to think I still have over 13 weeks to go, and it's not as if sleep is going to be any easier after...
GTKY: What's your idea of a perfect day? A lovely hike with H and our dog, with some geocaching of course (H will watch while I find, he's not into it!). Then making dinner at home - pasta or pizza!
