@hartmich Yes! That's how I feel. But I think my approach will be the same. I went home last night and told OH that we're getting rid of all our plastic storage. Truth be told, I love glass and had been wanting to do that anyway, so score!! I was also just on Pinterest, researching DIY hair gel and spray for my ridiculous curly hair, and I was thinking of getting Honest body wash again from Costco because I liked it anyway, LOL. Thanks for giving me a reason to take a breath
@TravelingCouple I recommend it even if you just want to make informed decisions about the products you use. She talks a lot about the benefits for if/when we are successful for healthy pregnancy and baby, too.
Thanks @adirat! I'm super excited even though we're going about as bare-bones as you can. Like seriously, county clerk and us, then going to lunch after. I'm wearing a white dress with blue flower appliques that I got from modcloth.com like two years ago for $65, and am making myself a brooch bouquet. He's wearing a suit he wore to his sister's wedding and his grandmother's funeral. I ordered my wedding band from Costco for about $400. It's everything I wanted it to be Oh, and regardless of how, I think it's amazing that your AMH came up!

@travelingcouple you pull back on the plunger once you insert the needle to make sure you did not accidentally go in a vessel. But yes your basically putting the needle in, quick pull back, then inject, wam bam thank you mam done in just a few seconds.

@laurad75 Thanks love. I'm a little misty over here thinking of your embryo and praying for great test results. I'm thrilled you have been successful so far, however modestly, and that you can do another retrieval to bank some frosties! Given the DOR, it sounds like a solid plan. FX so hard!

@TravelingCouple Are you sure your trigger is a butt shot? I do all my own injections but they have been stomach injections. I always push the plunger super slowly so one drop comes out, then inject and push the rest of the medication in. It's intimidating at first but once you go for it it's no big deal.
@wabash15 Unfortunately we were already on a very aggressive protocol so there isn't anything we can change. I will need to go on bc again but for less time than last cycle.

They have you pull it back to make sure it's in the muscle and not a blood vessel. It's really unlikely but if you put it in a blood vessel your body may have a different/stronger/weaker reaction to it. So if you pull back and there is blood, you're in the wrong place and have to try again. if you're at all uncomfortable with needles, I would definitely have someone do it for you.
@TravelingCouple Which trigger are you using? I always had ovidrel and it was a stomach shot I did myself. DH just hovered nearby. Just pinched some fat near the belly button and then proceeded as @laurad75 described. But I imagine it's different for different types of triggers. Did your RE give you any direction or just tell you to watch the video?
@heatherdubrow Oh geez...yeah maybe I will ask my nurse friend after all. If I see blood there's no telling what'll happen. The last thing I need is to pass out with a needle sticking out of my butt.
@Bababatty It's Pregnyl I'm getting. Originally Novarel, but then the pharmacist found that Pregnyl was cheaper. She said it's a different brand of the same medication.
@Bababatty Thanks!! It's been a great TWW distraction!

@TravelingCouple I just looked it up and it is a muscular injection. It's highly unlikely that you'll see blood when you pull back... But if I were you I would absolutely ask a nurse friend to do it. It's nothing to them, at all...I don't even know how many injections I've given in my career. You don't even have to tell them what it's for if you don't want to.
@heatherdubrow so if I ask my friend to do it who's a nurse, she'll know to back the needle out a little bit to make sure that it's not in a blood vessel without me telling her that it's in HCG shot? In other words, do you do that anyway for any shot? She's totally cool and I know she won't mind doing it if I don't tell her what it's for, I just want to make sure that there's not a different protocol on how to do the shot based on what it is.
@heatherdubrow yeah I feel like this process has already been years (even though it hasn't at all) so I just don't know if I see any benefit of doing IUI... except obviously it's a lot less intense and of course I'll see what my doctor says. And it's not like IVF is an overnight process either. We don't go until mid-March
@laurad75 as they say, it only takes one! Praying things come back clear from testing.
@hartmich your dr will be able to tell you where you should start. They will likely do a bunch of tests on you and your H and come up with all of your options. It's good to research ahead of time and know what you want going into it. I loved it once we switched to ivf because you have a nurse assigned to you for the duration of your treatment. I emailed her all the time with my bsc questions and concerns (ex: I'm having diarrhea, will that prevent the embryo from implanting?? Lol). I'll be crossing my fingers for you! March isn't too far away!
I'm being lazy and not tagging all of you, because it pretty much was all of you, but thank you for all your thoughts and condolences. The genetic condition is 1 in 20,000 so that's probably why the urologist hasn't seen it before. I want to keep going to him because I like him a lot and trust him and he works with my RE closely. I think the genetic counselor at the Re practice I go to will be helpful. I haven't made an appointment there yet.
@wabash15 I am so sorry that your budget isn't going to allow you to continue. Is there anyway to re-budget and try to drop luxuries? I have considered dropping cable, not eating out, any places we can tighten up.
@laurad75 I think that is a good plan-going for another ER next month and trying for more embies now. I will keep your frozen embie in my thoughts!
