My TW is the woman on the freeway this morning who was riding my ass. She wouldn't back off so I brake checked her a few times actually and she still wouldn't back off. Instead, she got over into the right lane and passed the person there by going on the shoulder. She then whipped back around and cut me off although thankfully not so bad that I had to brake again. She was such a see you next Tuesday! Argh, I hate stupid and impatient drivers!

My TW is my BFF. I love my BFF and she can be very sweet and kind, but sometimes says weirdly insensitive things.

My BFF has a 1 year old. They are thinking about having a second child, but my BFF is really overwhelmed because her husband does not help out at all around the house or very much with the actual care of their child (he will play with her, but chooses to work a lot and isn't home often).

Well, while hanging out with her and her husband, a couple walked by with a newborn who was about a month old. Her husband says, "aww, isn't she cute, we should have another one now." My BFF turned to me and said, "Dragonfly87, you should have a baby so that my DH play with a newborn, then I won't have to have another one so soon."

My BFF knows about my situation...the comment was not well received by me, but I just smiled and pretended it was a funny comment.

My TW is either myself or my DH, I'm not sure.

DH's job schedule is 8 days on and then 6 days off, but lately he's been doing some side-work on his days off. I mean, I SHOULD be grateful that he's ambitious and working to make a little extra money on his days off, but it means that I don't get a break from "dog duty," and also that he doesn't help as much around the house. We can use the extra money, it's just annoying when he automatically assumes that I have time to comes home at lunch and let the dog out EVERY day and pick up the rest of the slack around the house. But, you know, money.

While we are discussing BFFs... I talked to my BFF on the phone this weekend who has a newborn. She knows I am planning to TTC soon and also knows that due to my student loan circumstances I don't have the option to be a SAHM (nor do I think I would choose to be anyway). So during our chit chat about babies she made the comment that she doesn't think I will want to go back to work after having a baby and she doesn't know why people have babies if they are only going to spend 4 hours a day with them (after work). She did follow up the statement by saying she understands people have to "do what they need to do" but it still really stung. My career has always been really important to me and I'm so sick of people insinuating I would be doing a disservice to my future children by being a mom who works outside the home!

My TW is the RE for rescheduling my appointment for the second time. We now have to go to the office that's further away to avoid waiting two extra weeks which sucks because I wanted H to meet our nurse and see our "home" office etc because he was only in attendance by phone for the first appointment. Sigh. I know this isn't a big deal but I'm on edge about everything IF related.

@JJMNO1616 hugs as a working mom it is hard to leave the kids some days but somedays it is also what I need for my mental health. I have worked super hard in my career to get where I am and I think it sets a great example for my kids that if you work hard you can get where you want to. Working does not make me any less of a mom and it won't for you either. There is a ton of mommy guilt out there and you just have to tune it out and do what works for you.

Also, my schedule is a TW. I don't want to stay after class today for my skills practice, but I also don't want to go in early next Tuesday.
I can't even be angry at anyone because I make my own schedule at work, so I could ask to come in late or leave early on a day, but, money...

@JJMNO1616 being a SAHM isn't always all it's cracked up to be. I love my kids to the moon and back but at the same time I feel very unaccomplished. I have a masters degree I haven't finished and feel like I bring little to the table besides more goldfish crackers and juice. I think if you have a career you thrive in and love more power to you! So many people hate their jobs it's lucky to have one you look forward to going to!

@JJMNO1616 You have more restraint than I. I'd have asked her what the view is like from up in her palace where she doesn't have to work to pay a mortgage and can judge all the people below. I bet it's lovely.

My dog is a TW today. It turns out the bones he's been chewing have chipped his teeth so he has to go under in a few weeks to get x-rays and a cleaning while he's out. We have to give him some kind of bone though, because when he gets overstimulated he gets mouthy, so it's either a bone or our furniture. Can anyone recommend a bone that is softer than a Nylabone but not so soft it'll last for longer than a few days?

p.s. I feel terribly calling my dog a TW. He's a good boy. It's not his fault those darn bones chipped his teeth.

@JJMNO1616 being a stay at home mom is great, if that is what you are able, and WANT to do. I personally love it. I feel like it's what I am meant to do. My BFF loves her job and is a better mom for doing something that really fulfills her. It's a very personal decision and not a one size fits all thing. And trust, there is guilt on both sides of it.

@eggplantface that's interesting that a Nylabone chipped his teeth. Could you try a softer Nylabone, perhaps one made for puppy teeth? We use the nylabones that have grooves in them and have never had an issue with chipped teeth. I know a few people who use Kong toys, stuff them with peanut butter then freeze to entertain their dog for a full day.

@eggplantface I effing HATE nylabones. I cannot tell you how many dogs have had to have teeth removed because of them. I like kongs because they are a bit squishier and therefore give more give to the teeth.

@haylsbayls We got him the really hard Durachew Nylabones (shocker, he chipped his teeth!) because he is a powerful chewer, I should have been more specific. I'll look into the puppy ones, though, and take a trip to the Petco to test them out. We have one spare that we gave him last night, my MIL got it for him for Christmas. I can indent it with my nail so it's much softer than the other one.

It's designed for strong chewers but may be a little softer on his teeth

@haylsbayls That was actually his first bone, then I bought the next bigger size (which maybe is the problem)! We tried antlers too but the tiny pieces went everywhere. But now that I think about it, I'd rather tiny pieces of antlers all over the floor than my pup having his teeth pulled...

@eggplantface - I've always loved Kongs and stick by them. Gizmo will chew up everything else within a day or two, but no matter how long/often he chews on his Kongs, they're still completely intact. Gizmo loves plain Kongs by themselves, but you can put peanut butter or treats inside the Kongs, and it'll keep him occupied for a while. Their interactive line of toys are amazing, and definitely keep a dog's interest.
Never had any problems with his or any other dogs' teeth that have used Kongs.

Yess this! I totally agree. Ugh, it's so exhausting having to deal with the judgement no matter what you do.

Thanks for all the emotional support. My friend isn't typically the type of person to make comments like that so I am trying to brush it off but I have been hearing it a lot lately from family as well. My Dad actually made a comment to me recently about work and having kids, insinuating I may want to consider staying home. Without really thinking I replied by saying my DH and I are fortunate enough where I can continue to work and afford daycare (because I know that's why a lot of women choose to stop working). It made me laugh later on when I did think about it because I realize normally that comment is stated with the opposite inference (fortunate enough to be able to stay home). I do love my job though and I think it would lead to somewhat of an identity crisis for me to be a SAHM. I just wish the peanut gallery would keep opinions to a minimum.

I already mentioned this in the proposal thread, but my TW is everyone getting in the way of our elopement. Long story short, we've always planned to elope, and OH got laid off a couple of weeks ago, so we're timing it to put him on my health insurance. We're very romantic that way, LOL.

Anyway, there is a local emergency going on, and it affects my DSS and his mom and grandmother. DSS is with us at our house, which I love because he's my favorite. His mom and grandmother are at a nearby hotel. We were going to do it on Friday morning, but it looks like everyone will still be here, and OH wants to avoid the awkwardness and drama that would come from doing it then. He's right, of course, although I still think he's a little bit of a TW for letting her and her issues interfere. In all fairness, she does work very hard to have a good relationship with both of us, and we get along well considering the circumstances. But the fact that she has issues about this makes her my real TW. I get that it stings when your son's father marries someone else (they were never married, so that probably makes it worse), but we both know she's going to lose her mind in an inappropriate way when he tells her.

Also, my sister's birthday is next week, so we had to avoid that day, too.

I'm looking on the bright side that waiting means a hopefully good and drama-free day for us. I won't have to share OH with anyone or remember our wedding for everything that is going on now. But damn I'm irritated!

@eggplantface I second (or 3rd) the Kong toys. Our small dog does ok with the softer toys but our big girl needs something for strong chewers. We've also given them yak milk bones. the flat rawhides were recommended by the vet, but we do those when we can be home to supervise.

Ok, maybe I'm being a little overly-sensitive, but my BFF just posted a picture of her and her BF on Facebook with the caption 'If you don't post a picture of you and your SO together on Valentine's Day, are you even really in a relationship?' ...Bitch, I wish I had a recent picture of me and DH together, especially today. You can post a picture of you and your SO without saying something stupid like that.

@eggplantface We use kong toys. We have a super small soft puppy one for our Maltese and a regular red one for our Sheltie but our Sheltie prefers the tiny pink one. It's like an inch long but she likes it anyways. My two aren't chewers though. My Maltese loves her ball that distributes treats when she pushes it around.

Speaking of dogs, I came home this morning from bringing DH to the train station and found that my Sheltie ate 2 oreo pops off the table. Chairs were pushed in and everything. No clue how she got them because she isn't even tall.

Yeah, I am not one of those people that needs Facebook Valentines validation. But it's EVERYWHERE today! I am kind of loving seeing all of the love in a time when everything else is so negative.
So, my TW this week is my BFF's husband - who is also my husbands BFF. They apparently got suuuuuper drunk this afternoon and were on the verge of killing each other...so guess who has a houseguest this evening? Oy vey. At least my husband and I aren't valentines people, otherwise I would be really annoyed My man and his BFF are currently in my living room watching Friday, of all things, and drinking rum. I repeat - Oy VEY!
