I broached the idea with DH of me possibly cutting back to part time for about six months next year after the baby comes. I don't think he was a fan and I'm bummed that he is always such a Debbie Downer.

I didn't sleep well at all last night. I could hardly make it work without gagging every 5 min in the car. And to top it off my coworker is being a complete b!tch. I'm sorry your weekend sucked but don't take it out on me.

I woke up this morning and realized that all the sucker valentine's my kids spent forever putting together yesterday probably won't be allowed because they're not on the "safe snack list" for school. I told them to ask their teachers but to expect to be told they have to bring them home today

I'm so beyond tired of all the BS and drama from my ILs, MIL especially. She needs to stop trying to insert herself into every damn thing and trying to tell dh and I what to do. Not to mention she basically belittles our feelings and she's the only one who is allowed to get upset over shit. It took every ounce of restraint to not send her a nasty text message yesterday telling her off after she called dh complaining about me. I've put up with this shit for 9 years now and I'm sick of keeping my mouth shut just to keep the peace

This morning my hands are swollen and it bothers me. I couldn't sleep well at all last night (which is never an issue with me, I can sleep anywhere, anytime, like a rock) and I bought a pair of bralettes yesterday... and the black one has fabric that pokes out right at the nip so now it looks like I have a rock hard nip and I have to wear a jacket

wahhh I just want to go home and sleep!

@VLillyV pregnancy swelling? I had issues with DS with my wrists aching and hands tingling sooo bad by the end of the day. I ended up buying a brace to help get pressure off the nerve in my wrist and it helped. Then magically mid-second trimester it went away.

@sjohns08 Family drama is THE WORST. Lucky for me my in-laws are great. Unlucky for me my dad's wife is a nightmare. Poor DH.

This is my first time being pregnant so I am unsure, but my hands typically don't swell. I noticed it over the weekend and am afraid I need to take off my ring today before it needs to be cut off. It's confusing because I thought this happened much later in pregnancy. I never would have thought about a brace! Thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to google.

P.S. I love your use of spreadsheets to prove fact, I do that too with DH about finances, works for me! GL

My OB requires proof of pregnancy (something other than at home tests) but I'm not driving an hour to my doctor's office just to pee on a stick. I called my regular physician to see if I could have a test done there and faxed in, apparently this isn't a normal procedure that OBs request and I had to explain to 3 different people what I needed. Just all over annoyed this morning!

@sjohns08 I hear you on the crazy in laws!! I hope MIL butts out sooner rather than later ...

This last week was crazy and I wasn't able to Bump much, but now I have plenty to B about!

My sense of smell is OFF THE CHARTS!! Not something I had with DD, besides the smell of coffee borthering me. Everything stinks. The nausea has kicked in and now every time I take a bite of anything I gag, doesn't matter what it is! Even bacon made me queasy yesterday.

@jessafishy why do guys have to be such d-bags about this? I approached the subject of taking an additional 6 weeks off (my company only pays for 6) to get a full 12 weeks, DH gave me this long spill about "we will never get our mortgage paid off if you keep taking leaves." It just ticked me off! They seem to be more moody than we are.

@jessafishy it's so hard because I have really dramatic people in my family, but I made the decision to basically cut them out of my life as much as possible. I don't have time to deal with a bunch of grown adults acting like teenagers and gossiping about other family members. It's ridiculous. Unfortunately, I can't do this with my ILs, as we live 3 blocks from them and there's no way to avoid them. I just need to remind myself that *hopefully* we will be moving away next summer and they will be a lot more tolerable from 800+ miles away lol

@sdarling2010 MIL will never butt out, unfortunately. I hear you on the super sonic sense of smell though. I'm normally a bloodhound but pregnancy makes it so I want to puke from smells now. My dog smells worse than ever now and I can't even be within several feet of her right now

@mrs_fogue Right? DH tends to be extremely cautious especially when it comes to financial situations. Most of the time I appreciate it because I don't ever have to worry about him spending too much or buying impulsively. But at certain times (i.e. when I want something, like a house) it is suuuuper frustrating.

I don't even know if my employer would be on board yet but I wanted to talk it over with DH first.

@VLillyV I woke up with slightly swollen hands today too. Its happened to me on and off since being pregnant. I figure it's water retention, and when it happens I make it a point to drink extra water that day.

@jessafishy I hope it works out for you. One of the women, in my department, who was recently hired, is part-time but will be full time by the end of the year. She asked to be part-time since she wants to be home with her baby.

@twilight rose She seems to be better now. We're usually okay with each other and friendly maybe she's PMSing lol. I try not to give her too much attention though. I refuse to accept that kind of behavior and then ask you what's wrong or pretend to be concerned. no thanks. bye.

@jessafishy I'm really sorry! My husband is crazy about finances too. He still doesn't understand why groceries cost so much. Uh because we live in NYC!! I have a half a mind to let him do groceries but I don't want to eat Chips Ahoy and cereal for dinner

Neighbor (I want to say kid but he's like 22/23) had friends over and one was outside sitting in his car but couldn't seem to PREVENT alarm from going off every 20 seconds for a minute at a time. I was about to offer to cut some wires for him. Then I got scared neighbor forgot to alert me inspector was coming for house sale and freaked out thinking someone was trying to break in backside of house lol. No big deal except they just left down this morning so I wanted to make sure they knew people where there! A little annoyed I caught said inspector taking a photo of my backyard...buzz off...you are lucky I didn't let my dogs stay out and bark at you the whole time.

Ugh I always hide my treats for myself in a box at work and recently someone had found said area and literally ate all of it except for leaving behind a few morsels. I was so upset lol I wrote a big note so when they open the box they see it and get that I'm not happy and will not be leaving any treats in there anymore!

My hands aren't swollen yet but my midsection certainly is.

I flew into Chicago this morning and elected to bypass the body scanner going thru security. I should have just been short with the reasons why but I felt like I had to explain myself so told them I am KU. It took them 30 minutes to get someone over to pat me down, and the whole time the TSA agents were making snide remarks about me being paranoid. I realize the radiation levels are extremely low and the chances of harm are minuscule, but we tried for this baby for almost 2 years, I already love him/her so much and why take even a minimal risk when I have the time to wait. Their attitudes really pissed me off.

It's completely your choice to opt out. Whether or not it's harmful to you and your baby, they shouldn't be making remarks. Besides, they make children bypass the scanner for some reason...what's the logic in not allowing that and then thinking you're being unreasonable?

maybe let him stew on it for a little bit longer. I assume your spreadsheet showed any potential day care savings you'd have by not having baby in daycare full-time? (Also, spreadsheets FTW!) My DH is the other side of the spectrum. Spends too much without much planning so I'm constantly trying to wrangle him in (it's exhausting). Why can't men just be in the middle?! Lol

@purplestars I am hoping that by giving him plenty of time he might come around. Like I said, I'm not even sure if my employer would be on board (I think they would but I haven't talked to them about it yet because I haven't even told them I'm pregnant) so we will see.
