We've decided to add scratching to my next FET protocol, and it'll take place at my baseline ultrasound appointment next week. Just wondering if the pain is tolerable, and if I will feel ok enough to go to work after.
Any info appreciated! : )

Hello! I had it twice. It's better to take some advil (or aleve) before. I had bad cramps for a minute or 2 after, then it slowly decreased for about 30 min. I guess it's different for everybody, but I enjoyed sitting down for a little while before going back to work.
The procedure is not that bad and not too long, maybe 2 min.
I had the biopsy, twice, which is basically the same thing. It was very very painful for me, but the pain only lasted about 20 seconds (in the moment it was rough though). I was fine to go to work after- the pain didnt last.
TW: For what its worth, I am absolutely convinced it's what allowed me to conceive after failed FET.

My RE wants me to get an endometrial biopsy in the follicular phase (CD 5 - 12) to 'rule out endometritis'. I had a lining measurement that was slightly low, but it could easily have been just the ultrasound operator that day (those ultrasound measurements are done pretty hastily and are variable, as we all know).
I think it's a pretty sketchy call... I have no STDs and was negative on STD testing as well, and I kind of suspect she wanted to drum up a reason to do (and bill for) the procedure.
But I'm going along with it just in case it might help... Stories like that of @omarismyhomeboy make me wonder if it might help.
@omarismyhomeboy , did you conceive that very cycle, or the next cycle?
The plan is for me to begin OCP suppression for IVF the cycle after the biopsy cycle... So I'd hate to be missing out on the very cycle that I might have improved chances...

@notamyrtle I had two biopsies: one in October, and one in November. I went off all meds in December to take a break because our lab was closed. I conceived that month. So, basically, the next month.

I had one performed after BFN #1. I don't think the pain is too terrible but you'll definitely feel it. If you have had a HSG or anything like that it is definately a lot easier in my opinion

I'm debating about getting the scratch too ..I had it once before and it was painful ...I just had the sonohystogram procedure done the other week which also sucked and was painful ...I'm really leaning towards not doing the scratch ...how much shit must we continually put our bodies through ?! BUT if anyone is really convinced the scratch is essential please tell me !

@AlexCost I hated- HATED- the scratch/biopsy. I nearly passed out doing my second one! That being said, I conceived the very next cycle, naturally, without trying. And had never had a BFP in my life, not even a chemical with PGS embryos. I'm convinced of its efficacy- though of course results can vary by person.

@jodes727 I believe they feel similar, but they're a tad different.
@omarismyhomeboy that makes me wonder if clinics should be doing scratching earlier on. Like with your first IUI.

@jodes727 from what I understand the procedure is quite similar but they have to remove more material in a biopsy since they have to send it off to the lab. @LeFemmeViolette I know, I have thought of that too. Obviously everyone is different, but I think a scratch before IUI would have helped me without necessarily having to go through IVF. Who knows!

Hmmmm my clinic says a scratch would eat up 2 cycles. 1 to scratch and then the one afterwards to wait for test results. And they don't seem to be proponents. I wonder why???? It seems like everyone should have it? But if it's most successful the following cycle then they prevent that from happening. Also the scratch cycle is medicated. Anyone experience this??
