Re: FTM Check In 2/7
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? M/s is getting better all the time. My hands swell now if I leave my sea bands on when I'm sleeping, but only if I have the bands on. Also, my butt muscles hurt. Specifically the muscles that run from my hips to legs. So weird.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Nope
Rants/raves? I'm just generally annoyed that the temp agency my husband got his job from makes you drop off the time sheet on Mondays between 8:30-4:30 and pick up the check on Fridays from 8:30-4:30. There is no other option. And it makes zero sense, because my husband works 9-5:30 and would never be able to do it if I couldn't. I just can't wait for them to at least get the direct deposit set up so I can stop driving up twice a week.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? Does the bloating of the bump ever stop? I have a legit bump now, but it does fluctuate slightly based on my BM's. I just wondered if it's always going to do that. I expected to bump and for it to only grow, not fluctuate.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? Oh I LOVE kitchen gadgets. My favorite is probably an electric can opener though. I know, it's so simple. But I use canned beans at least once a day, and hand held can openers are just terrible.

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in?
It's starting to be difficult to sleep because of lower back pain.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? No. Next appointment is Thursday.
Rants/raves?
I'm so proud of my mom. She lives by herself now and my sisters and I were worried she would turn into a hermit. But she's been forcing herself to go out and try new things. She went to the women's march and now she's playing hooky to go to the Patriots championship parade. It's really so unlike her to go towards a crowd. She's also learning to text us. I'm so happy for her.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? The sous vide cooker. Because now my husband cooks for me on occasion.
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Not much going on here. First tri symptoms seem to be going away. Still no bump to speak of.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? I had an appointment last Friday. For a long list of reasons, I'm not happy with my doctor, so I'm switching to a new one. I made new appointments today for the anatomy scan in March. I may see her sooner if my thyroid bloodwork is abnormal (which I think it is, based on what I've read about TSH levels in pregnancy). Hopefully this new doctor will be a better fit.
Rants/raves? See doctor rant above.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? None that I can think of at the moment.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? We got a Le Creuset dutch oven as a wedding gift and I love it! It heats everything really evenly and cleans up very well. We also use our Vitamix quite a bit. Mostly for smoothies, hummus, and making tomato sauce with fresh tomatoes. I haven't explored a ton of different Vitamix recipes, so if anyone has any good ones please share!

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Not really
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Visit last Tuesday, everything is good! Got results of Mat21 and everything is completely normal (small scare after NT scan because some readings were 'off')
Rants/raves? I don't like any of the birth class options in our area. Either it is private, in home or a 4 or 12 week class that 2-3 hours a week. Additionally, I am annoyed/over my SIL and her pregnancy. Not once have I heard her (or her DH) be joyous/excited and is constantly complaining how horrible it is being pregnant.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? --
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? Not really gadgets, but I love my pots and pans. They were a big splurge item on our registry and I didn't think that we would get them. DH told my MIL how much we/I wanted them so she got them for us!
Married: 6/2016
TTC:6/2016
BFP: 11/22/2016 | EDD: 7/29/2017
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? I often get the beginning feelings of leg cramps, but so far nothing full blown. Still annoying though! I also overdid it with the shopping this weekend, so on Sunday and into Monday I felt exhausted like I was back in the first tri.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? I had one of the boring weight + heartbeat appointments this morning. Found out the top of my uterus is about 2 inches above my belly button - no wonder I feel like I've exploded in the past week! I also found out that I've officially gained 1 lb since my first appointment, because early on I had lost 4 lb.
Rants/raves? My rant is 75% of the time about my parents. My mom still keeps "joking" about how she hopes everything is wrong and the baby turns out to actually be a girl (like for instance every time I buy a piece of clothing that is more boy-oriented). How funny and shocking would that be!!!! Yeah lady, I get it, my boy isn't good enough.
And then just the general contrariness for no apparent reason. I went to a sleep training workshop yesterday and I said to her that it's important when she watches the baby that she follows the same routine for naps. She couldn't come up with something quick enough to say how I'm wrong, so it came out "I'll do what I want! I'll just bop him on the head!" WTF?? Honestly sometimes she's starting to sound like my grandmother with dementia...
Questions for FTM, or STM+? Not really
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? Yeah, I don't really do the kitchen... My favorite is the phone for takeout or just going somewhere.
Highly monitored internet and no cell service in the office, so I'm postin' and ghostin' while I'm workin'
How far along are you? 16+3
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in?
mainly psychological, I think I need to ignore and keep myself calm
also I don't feel sick if I don't eat any more which is a relief mA
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go?
I went for a second opinion and didn't like the practice so walked out.
Rants/raves?
Rants: I'm feeling a bit sad. Too much to say.
Raves: I have figured out some simple meals. I usually made very elaborate fancy meals and there's no time or temperament for that anymore.
Questions for FTM, or STM+?
STM you never responded To my previous questions boo!
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget?
i love my kitchen. There's more than just a single favourite.
1. Vitamix
2. Kitchen Aid.
3. Oven (I know it's an appliance lol)
@GlitterFish I completely understand how you feel. This is a sensitive topic for me. Even though my mum is a very nice completely normal person, she's been so crazy about the sex of babies. I was going crazy thinking the dissapointment she would have if it wasn't a boy. I was the girl who was supposed to be a boy and my mum ruined her health over it(cried and cried and cried and got a stroke lol!) Talk about being crazy?! Even now she's being crazy. She only wants boys because she didn't have any, and I kind of think she didn't deserve them. My sister already has a boy and when her second was a girl my mum made it into some kind of mourning. Iv been making her feel like sh** for that and now that my neice is two and everyone's favourite she feels awful for her stupid opinion. I will continue making her feel awful, every child needs to feel welcome and Your boy is special.

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in?
I think that when I have other symptoms (headache, or this cold) the nausea goes away, so I'm just hoping for more headaches.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go?
Nope
Rants/raves?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a potential snow day on Thursday. We're supposed to get almost a foot, all during the AM rush and the workday!
Questions for FTM, or STM+?
Not yet, but I'm finding a lot of advice I've read so far very helpful.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget?
My husband
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? I've started forgetting I'm pregnant because most of my nasty symptoms like m/s have subsided and it's just aches and pains and such. Very odd. Then I remember because I want to go eat a rare steak and can't. Or raw sushi... *drool*
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? I had a boring weigh-in/bp/heartbeat appt on Friday. The heartbeat was fun, just like seeing baby on the big screen. She had some issues finding baby's heartbeat at first, but I willed myself not to panic and then bam! She found it at a perfect 147.
Rants/raves? Not exactly. I didn't/don't want a gender reveal except with family, but somehow this little low key get together we're having has grown from just family (around 8) to potentially 21. I felt bad because DH is so reserved and never wants to hang with any of his friends and for once he was very excited to share and invited several people without letting me know. I also had several friends (with which I was trying to make plans) find out about it because I said I was busy and they invited themselves. We're close so I don't mind that they did, but it's gotten a little out of control...
Questions for FTM, or STM+? When do you stop burying your head in the sand and stop being afraid? I adore and very much want this baby, but I'm in a state of fear right now. I was talking to my pregnant neighbor telling her I was afraid and she told me she cried when she found out because they didn't want a baby for years to come, so she's not that excited. I didn't know what to say because that wasn't what I meant, but I'm glad she felt comfortable venting.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? Honestly, as of late it's my vegetti! I love making zucchini noodles and they're so healthy. Delish!
@BusyZee I'm sorry you're feeling down girl! Hoping you feel better!

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Feeling well enough that my OB suggested I try to wean off dlclegis, which is terrifying. Otherwise, I'm starting to get some energy back. Hooray!
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Yep, appointment last Friday. Doc found a heartbeat right away, and it's still my favorite sound ever
Rants/raves? Rave: It felt like spring today! Rant: but it's supposed to snow on Thursday. I hope the snow doesn't kill my sprouting daffodils that I planted in the fall.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? Do you ever find yourself staring at your belly and not really believing that there's an actual baby in there? Asking for a friend...
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? Our Kitchen Aid ice cream maker attachment. We only really use it in the summer but it's so easy and homemade ice cream is sooo good.
@kerils I've been wondering the same thing about my bloat. I look at least a few months further along at night than I do in the morning.
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? This is my first check-in (I've been lurking for a couple of weeks), but my first trimester nausea (no vomiting just constant nausea) has accompanied me into the second trimester. It can go away any time.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Have a regular ob check up on Thursday.
Rants/raves? Why is finding a day care so stressful? I didn't realize we were so behind the game but the first 2 places I've called have no openings until 2018!
Questions for FTM, or STM+? None at the moment.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? Kitchenaid Mixer!
@maybeitsmadeline Your question was the reason I decided to stop lurking and post. Yes, yes, yes to putting this into words! I'm in the same boat. I wanted this baby very much, but I am pretty much terrified at all times of what it's actually going to be like when the baby gets here. I've been around babies plenty, so the baby itself isn't what scares me, it's the whole being the ones solely responsible for its entire well-being that scares me. I had a minor freak out the other day discussing names because it's such a big responsibility!
@GreenBean Your question too. Every day. My husband put his hand on my stomach the other day and I was all "what are you doing" for a second before I realized there was a BABY in there.

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? I will randomly get these sharp almost stabbing pains on my side (just below my ribs) and I can't take a deep breath without it hurting. I have to take small short breaths. It usually goes away in 5 minutes. It comes on suddenly and stops suddenly (almost of out nowhere) instead of coming / going gradually. Had 1 today and it didn't go away for an hour. I called my doctor who didn't seem concerned since I have no issues going to the bathroom or anything. I told her I was eating lunch at work when I noticed it stopped. My doctor said to keep an eye on if I get them again and if I notice I am eating before / during / or after to see if it may be related to being hungry, etc.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Nope. Next on is on the 14th
Rants/raves? None
Questions for FTM, or STM+? Have any of you experienced what I described above??
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? My blender lol
@kerils - Mine seems smaller after a decent bm too lol
@Twinkiedoll - I have problems getting comfortable when sleeping too because I like to lay partially on my stomach and I can't do that anymore. I noticed I wake up on laying on my back a lot which I used to not do - I used to wake up on my side.
@SpongeWorthy - FX for the new doctor
@SquirttheTurtle - I'd be annoyed with them too.
@GlitterFish - I'd be so annoyed if that was my mom. I'd have a very serious talk with her. Her last statement would not make me feel okay with leaving my baby with her.
@BusyZee - What happened that made you walk out?
@PurplePumpernickel - Your GTKY answer made me laugh.
@maybeitsmadeline - Stop telling people otherwise you may end up having 40 people lol.
@GreenBean - GL weaning off the meds
@CPR79 - GL on Thursday

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Lots pelvic/pubic pain, Not quite sure if this is normal, so I eventually tried to look it up and everything I read goes either its normal or seek medical attention.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? No appointments, eagerly waiting for my next appointment on the 17th for my anatomy scan!
Rants/raves? I still don't feel pregnant most of the time. Pre pregnancy I started out with an obese rounded (pregnant looking) belly so I still think I look the same, only difference is I can't suck this one in! Haven't felt any fetal movements yet, which I think also goes back to being obese but it sure makes me anxious all the time wondering if everything is still okay.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? I think I can't tell if I have too many questions or none at all.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? Toaster oven for sure! When I do cook, pretty much everything goes in there

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? I am definitely starting to get a bump...which is funny, because I'm a large woman with a long torso. It appears that my long torso can only accommodate so much. As for symptoms, the bleeding gums/nose have started. Fun times.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Nope...not until the end of the month.
Rants/raves? Rant: I kind of twisted my ankle on my commute home yesterday (I take the Metro and end up walking about 2.5 miles round trip every day). I'm teleworking today. So, you know, tomorrow's commute should be fun.
Questions for FTM, or STM+?
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? I love my rice cooker. It's used probably twice a week and saves me from having to watch the stove. My H wanted me to take it off our wedding registry. He later said he regrets that he requested that since he loves it and it's easy. LOL. I also love my KitchenAid mixer, but I don't use it enough because we just don't have a lot of counter space.

How far along are you? 19w1d
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Growing belly and a superwoman sense of smell. Smells don't make me nauseous, thank goodness, but they can really aggravate me and it's hard to ignore them.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? My last appointment was Jan. 24 and my next one is the 15th, which is our anatomy scan!
Rants/raves? We got around 5 inches of snow last night, boo. I hate winter.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? None that I can think of at the moment.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? My cast iron Dutch oven! I use it for everything -pasta, soup, oven-baked meals - it's easy to clean and it's so nice and big, it just works for so many different meals.
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Things are generally good! Needing to sleep less, appetite has kicked up yet another gear, so I'm a little worried about gaining too much too fast.
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Yes! Anatomy scan yesterday. Everything looks good with the little lady, and my cyst is smaller, yay. But goodness, the images were... let's just say not as cute as at the 12-week scan. We saw Skeleton Baby, with giant eye sockets staring us down. And the print-outs they gave were one blurry profile shot and two of the lady parts - REALLY?! This is all insignificant in comparison to the good news of normal development, of course, but we were like, "Maybe we need to rethink our name choice. Thor?"
Rants/raves? My appetite is unreal.
Questions for FTM, or STM+?
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? Coffee machine (for decaf, natch).
How far along are you? 19w1d
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Constipation is driving me nuts and I can't sleep through the night anymore. Otherwise, this baby has been amazing to me! Still no movement yet which freaks me out a bit but my sis said it took her 20w with both so I'm waiting ... patiently ... (or not haha!)
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Since last check-in ... well I'm not sure when was the last time haha! No appointments but my IPS screening came back and everything is A'OK so that was exciting. It only took them a month and a half! Anatomy scan next week! I put it out of my mind for a while so that the excitement wouldn't drive me crazy but then yesterday I realized how close it's getting!
Rants/raves? Not really at this point in time. My DH decided to go vegetarian (I was reading up on it before my BFP) out of the blue so that's been an adjustment. I got so sick of winging it (and really, I shouldn't anyways since I'm preggo) that I finally went out and bought a vegetarian cookbook last night. I'm looking forward to testing out some of those recipes.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? Not really. I have a lot of Mom's in my life ... sister, cousins, best friend so I've been going to them for a lot of advice. I have a close FTM friend so we chat FTM stuff together haha!
FTM or STM: How do you stay on track with your eating goals? I'm having a hard time packing everything away and I'm not gaining any weight. I make a lunch for work packed with either soup or salad, and then just tons of fruits and veggies, sometimes nuts etc. I feel like I'm not eating enough though. What do you do for grain? Being pregnant I can't really stand anything other then white bread and it's a refined grain so I don't eat it much and wouldn't consider it an actual grain anyways.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? Oh man .... everything? Haha! Does it have to be electronic? I love my garlic press! I use it for ginger as well. It makes life soooo easy and I use it on the regular.

I'm thinking of some egg cups and overnight oats for breakfasts instead of cereal. Lunches are usually leftovers or a salad. I know the baby takes what it needs and leaves you the rest, I'm still worried, but my doctor isn't. She said if baby doesn't look on track at my AS then we'll talk.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Nope, but I have my anatomy scan coming up on Tuesday! I'm so excited!
Rants/raves? We got a ton of snow today. I was really sad that I had to go to work today since the office was closed and everyone else (who didn't have to go to the hospital) got a snow day. But we got to leave early which was nice! (except for the poor on call team)
Questions for FTM, or STM+? not this time
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget? My slow cooker. I don't use it enough, but H loves when I make ribs in it. I have yet to master the slow cooker pot roast, though. I wonder if maybe I'm not getting the right kind of roast.
As to not believing I'm actually pregnant that is me on most days! Especially when I'm feeling normal and not feeling kicks I often forget until I feel a little nudge, or lose my meal. Or when H tries to talk to my belly. It's so surreal!

Starting to feel that round ligament pain! Also have had some swelling in my fingers off and on. It makes me nervous to put my wedding rings on! Don't want them to get stuck!
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go?
Appt tomorrow! It feels like forever since the last time!
Rants/raves?
DH and I rearranged our room yesterday. We cleared up a lot of space (we got rid of our tv stand and mounted our tv instead). We also moved our dresser around and turned our bed! We have enough room to fit a crib/pack-n-play yard combo now! The room feels so much more spacious now.
Questions for FTM, or STM+?
None yet.
GTKY: What's your favorite kitchen gadget?
hmmm....I would say my food saver and crockpot! So handy!
