Success stories 7 weeks no heartbeat

I would really love to hear some positive stories if anyone here can share.
I had a bit of brown spotting no cramping yesterday so panicked cos of my history of miscarriages to the ER. Was seen by a gyno who did an internal scan and said I measured right from my lmp 7 weeks 1 day but no heartbeat found and booked me for an erpc for 2 weeks time as no spaces for next week. She didn't even say to wait and come back for another check she just wrote the pregnancy off. I keep thinking maybe too early for a heart beat but then my other loses I have seen heart beats at 6 weeks 3days but with this yesterday was my 1st u/s so can't tell if it started and stopped.
I have had 7 miscarriages all ending at 7 to 8 weeks. I was put on Cyclogest 400mg (progesterone), aspirin 150mg and Prednisolone 20mg(steriods) with this. Test has found nothing wrong with me and Doc just throwing this treatment to see if it works.  I have a 9 year old boy no problem and since him it's just been loses. My heart is broken and I don't know why my body is doing this.

I didn't want to leave you with no responses.....

I'm sorry you're going through this, I don't have a positive story for you but if I were you I would insist on one more check before they do anything, just for your peace of mind.  I wondered the same thing once (if everything could turn out ok)  and I would have hated to do anything drastic always wondering what if everything was actually okay.     A loss is heartbreaking but I'm so sorry that you have gone through it so many times. I'll be thinking about you and hoping for the best.

  • no advice but I'm praying for you!
  • I'm so sorry. I have a dear friend who is successfully pregnant after 7 losses. I hope this is a happy ending for you.
  • I'm sorry for your loss. The likelihood of a successful pregnancy if the baby actually measured 7 weeks without a heartbeat is exceedingly slight. We went through this a few years back. We opted with waiting for it to pass naturally. While it may have elongated the waiting period for the MC to happen it definitely gave me peace of mind that the pregnancy wasn't viable.

Sending lots of T&Ps for you and your family!
  • I am so sorry, I can't imagine how hard it is to hear something like that after so many losses already. I would definitely ask for another ultra sound to be sure.

  • I don't have advice, but I'm so sorry this is happening. I hope a follow up finds a heartbeat.
  • I'm so sorry. I don't have anything to share other than I'm sorry. Thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry for your losses. I have also had multiple losses, though not as many as you. I don't have any advice for this pregnancy other than try to get in for a follow up. Did they draw blood labs today?  If so, can you go back in a couple of days to see what your HcG does? It won't double at this point but shouldn't be dropping.

IVF with PGS testing was recommended to me for my multiple losses. I don't know if you feel that might be right for you in the future but it is probably worth thinking about.

    Keeping fingers crossed for you.

  • I'm really sorry you're dealing with this.

I don't have any good story to share, but I agree with others - I'd say do what you need to do for your peace of mind. If that's insisting on another ultrasound, do it.

  • I'm sorry that you are going through this. :(

I would most definitely ask for a follow up prior to making any decisions. A good friend of mine also was unable to see the heartbeat at 7 weeks but it was because of a tilted uterus.

I hope that everything turns out well for you and your baby. I also hope that your doctors figure out whatever it was that has caused your previous losses.

I cant imagine how you must feel right now. You are in our thoughts!

I am so sorry you are going through this, I've had multiple losses myself and it never gets easier. I don't have a happy story to share with you but perhaps your OB could get you in next week for a follow up instead of needing to wait 2 weeks for the ER? (I just know waiting 2 weeks would drive me insane)

  • Hello Ladies thanks so much for your kind words. I went for an u/s yesterday and was left a bit confused. My dates are measuring exact. Saturday it measured 7 weeks 1 days and yesterday measured 7 weeks 3 days and the crl also increased by 1mm but the lady said she still can't see a heartbeat and should be able to attend this stage. I remember with my last miscarriage it had stopped at 8weeks and at 9 weeks it still said 8 weeks and 10 weeks remained 8weeks till surgery. They booked me in for Erpc next week as they believe it's a missmiscarriage. I have accepted even though  I'm sad and disappointed at all the treatments not working, I will not give up hope on my body and a rainbow baby.
  • @LTWOGBD did they use the same machine for both ultrasounds? Have you thought about being checked out by a higher resolution machine to triple check? So sorry you're going through this!! It is odd that the CRL increased...I agree, with my loss the baby stopped growing after the heart stopped.
And don't give up!!! Hugs mama...

  • I agree it is odd that the crl increased, you wouldn't have expected that to happen if you'd had a missed miscarriage I would also try to get checked out somewhere with a high resolution machine. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.

  • I have no advice, just lots of T&P

  • GL, I also recommend a higher resolution screening.  Did they do a transvaginal or abdominal u/s?  I mean, I'm sincerely hoping they did a transvaginal, but I've been surprised before.

  • i'm so sorry you are going through this, but i agree i would request betas be done... you would not expect to see growth with a MMC, sometimes a heartbeat can't be seen until 8 weeks and i would want to make 100% certain before proceeding with anything
