really random but wtf to the toilets at my work. It's like they've increased the sensitivity to the sensors so they flush pretty much constantly while you're using them--when you reach for the tp, breathe, blink. It was not always like this, we have no idea why it is happening all of a sudden but everyone is not ok with it. It's like a using a bidet but not by choice. The other day it flushed like 6 times in a row on someone while I was in there and the lady was like WHAT IN SWEET JESUS IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!? It was actually pretty funny lol... thank god it was as I was leaving and she didn't hear me laughing.
WTF to my distant family member who sent me a message on FB asking how I felt about DeVos's confirmation because she was going to put "lazy, overpaid teachers like [me]" out of a job. Like, seriously? I work 60 hours a week to barely be able to afford my mortgage and daycare. In what world am I overpaid?
@SnarkasaurusRex Uh...... wow, WTF? Non-teachers who attack teachers as a group of people make no sense to me. I don't see teachers walking into corporate offices and throwing shade at all the people sitting in their cubicles. I get that there is a bad one here and there (isn't that true for every profession?) but calling all teachers lazy and overpaid is just short-sighted and dumb.
@SnarkasaurusRex serious wtf. Who in their right minds thinks any teacher at any school is overpaid????
@ashleym112 Hahahaha! My work toilets were the same for awhile. They finally fixed them, and I was just glad they weren't the ones that flushed like a geyser like the ones down the hall. That would have been a bad combo.
So, I am pretty sure that my SIL (who I live with right now) just told me that she is leaving her child here for a week during spring break while she goes to Florida and she hopes I don't have my baby early because she needs me to help. So, I am pretty sure she just told me that she is leaving her kid here while I am 36/37 weeks pregnant while she goes to have fun in Florida. MIL just announced that she is going to visit her mom for 2 weeks. The last week of March and the first week of April when I am 37/38 weeks pregnant. So, she won't be around to watch my nephew at all and also while we are potentially moving into her basement (which is the plan for April1st right now). And my mom doesn't get back to the mainland from Hawaii until I am 39 weeks pregnant. So, I'm not sure what sort of delusional world SIL is living in that she thinks I am watching her kid while she is gone. But, that is not happening and if MIL is not around I think she better plan on bringing him. To be fair I didn't even clarify with her what is happening. I just left the room because if that is indeed what she is saying I cannot have that conversation at the moment and I at least need DH here for that.
Sweet Jesus. DH is applying for some non-architecture jobs finally this week. So, hopefully he will get hired ASAP and we can move into our own place April 1st. I can't be around these people anymore.
To shorten that.... WTF people. I am growing and expelling a human from my body. Get your shit together and care a little bit about that fact. And stop asking me to do f****** favors for you.

@mrsstuessy WTF? I don't know how you walked away BC I would have lost my shit on your SIL it's not like she asked you to watch him for a few hours while she went to dinner in town..(or ASKED you at all) but to expect you to be responsible for her kid while heavily pregnant at all and add that she's not close enough by to call if something were to happen???? nope.nope.nope.
@mrsstuessy that is absurd. I don't even understand why in the world she would want to leave her child with you that late in your pregnancy. If I am leaving my child with someone for multiple days I would want that person to have the time and energy take care of my kid! Someone who has a high chance of needing to be admitted to the hospital for multiple days doesn't seem like the best choice in terms of a babysitter. I can't decide if I feel worse for you having to deal with his person or your poor nephew whose mother thinks leaving him with you is smart.
@SnarkasaurusRex This is the worst part about being a teacher - that our work and commitment is constantly devalued. I'm sorry your family thought it was appropriate to criticize what you do for your community. I'm sure your students feel much differently.
WTF to whoever put the roof on our house. We've been having some trouble with our gutters and I knew it was bad when the repairman started out telling me what was wrong with, "Well your roof was put on wrong...". Darn shady developers!
Also, we ordered a dresser for our nursery from Land of Nod and now it's backordered until early May! So WTF Land of Nod....I had to order something else, that is not as good. My baby will probably grow up with some problem because of this "not the right shade of blue" dresser. #sarcasm
ok, false alarm guys. My SIL is apparently taking her son with her to Florida. So, I don't know what she was referring to when she said she hopes I don't give birth early because she needs my help. I am going to assume she means help finishing a carton of ice cream or help binge watching a good Netflix show, because those are the only things you should be asking a 37 week pregnant lady to help you with. Also, MIL decided to move her trip to see her mom to July for her mom's 90th birthday. I am proud of DH though. When I told him that I thought maybe SIL was trying to say she wanted me to watch her kid he went up in arms real quick. Like, there was absolutely no way he was going to let her think for half a second that that was acceptable at all. We do still need to talk about the changes coming up. Come April I will absolutely NOT be watching her child for her. This means that she will need to ask my MIL to watch him 4 times a week instead of the 2 times she is watching him now for the rest of the semester. MIL is going to be super pissy about this and generally I get blamed for this kind of stuff. Like, somehow it is up to me to figure any of this out. So, she needs to find a babysitter or work it out with MIL without involving me whatsoever. Oh, it should be really fun.

@SnarkasaurusRex as a fellow teacher I wholeheartedly agree WTF to that! I don't know a single teacher that works less than 60 hours a week. Yes, I will admit we have a lot of days off, the breaks are nice, and summer is a huge plus BUT the world (generalizing here) tends to forget we ALREADY put in those hours and are getting paid for the already worked hours during those breaks. And those hours are NOT the extra 20+ a week, that's simply the 40 hour work weeks. Which actually isn't even 40 because of lunch (that I never get). I say screw that "family member".
@mrsstuessy I'm glad there was a bit of a false alarm with your SIL, that would have been insanely ridiculous!
My WTF is school parents...dude, I can't deal this week. SO NEEDY!!!! I won't go into all the details, but one example from today...really....is it necessary to hunt me down in the middle of a school meeting after school to discuss a lanyard your child lost after I asked them repeatedly to put it in their backpack so it didn't get lost! Then leave and proceed to send me not 1, not 2, not even 4, but 6 text messages about it because the same thing happened last year and her daughter is very upset. This interaction was her 4th this week and we are only on day 3! Let's not even talk about all the other parents right now. I need maternity leave NOW lol.
My husband's truck just broke down.. I'm supposed to work tomorrow and they are predicting 10-15 inches of snow.. we live on a huge hill and I drive a Corolla. I really don't want to call out with three days left until leave!
My mil just got done buying a used racecar bed for ds that's BROKEN and disgusting. But she still expects us to use it because we should be able to make it work.. Wtf. Well I kept my mouth shut on that one because its not worth another fight where she doesn't end up listening anyways. Well the other night she informed me she wants to buy dd a basinet. I told her no we are getting one because I don't want a used basinet from someone I don't know. I'm not against used but I don't want something from a house with pets\smoking that my child will sleep in for months. When I told her this nicely she told me that I'm just being silly and she will find something. How she thinks this is okay for her grandchildren blows my mind but whatever!
