Re: Monday Ticker Change 2.6.17

  • How far along are you? 24 weeks, yay!

    How big is baby? Cantaloupe

Any appointments this week? No, not til next week

Symptoms? Hip pain, back pain, but lots of kicks from baby to make up for it.

Rants/Raves/Questions? So not ready to go back to work today. I feel like a lost a whole weekend day being sick.

GTKY: Since the Super Bowl was last night in the U.S., what's your favorite party snack food? Chips and guacamole, but last night there were pickle chips at the party I was at and I feel like they were made specifically for pregnant women.

    How far along are you
? 24 Weeks!! Yay for viability day :)

How big is baby? A cantaloupe apparently

Any appointments this week? 4 more weeks until my 1 hr GTT. May be the first time I'm glad to wait ;)

Symptoms? Just heartburn and I still get full super easily

Rants/Raves/Questions? This is the fun part of pregnancy people talk about. I'm feeling huge suddenly and I think it's finally obvious I'm pregnant and not fat.

GTKY: Since the Super Bowl was last night in the U.S., what's your favorite party snack food? Probably anything with cheese dip. I love buffalo cheese dip, which may take the cake. Yummm
  • Yay for viability, @ShadeofGreen816! Cantaloupe sounded big to me, but that's what I've seen others say so I went with it. I like thinking he's that big already :)

  • 24 weeks!!! Wahoo V-Day!!

Baby is as big as a cantaloupe.... seems a little off.

We get to see little one Thursday for our follow up ultrasound and then check up :)

Still having a lot of the same symptoms as the rest of the group: hip pain, feel full easily, sleepy

RRQ: DH is making progress on DDs new closet in her big girl room, but I am so impatient. Nesting is in full swing and the lack of closet in her new room is preventing me from moving her stuff from the nursery. I just keep reminding myself there's still plenty of time before Baby is here and how lucky we are that DH has the skills to build it.

Snack Food: Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts are my favorite for events like the super bowl/Christmas parties/etc. I'm also a buffalo chicken dip lover-- it's sooo easy to make and perfect as a last minute snack.

  • How far along are you? 27 weeks

How big is baby? Lantern (seems odd, but I'll go with it)

    Any appointments this week? Nope.

Symptoms? Heartburn, not sleeping well, lower back pain, but the kicks are in full swing :)

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm sick :( woke up with a horrible sore throat at midnight...couldn't go back to bed so had to call in to work.

GTKY: Since the Super Bowl was last night in the U.S., what's your favorite party snack food? Chips and  salsa
  • Lots of people hitting the 24 week mark!! Woot Woot!
  • Congrats @PghMom412 @kns1988 and @ShadeofGreen816 on 24 weeks!!  I'm 24 today too and so pumped!

Cantelope or GI Joe.  I don't think those are anywhere near the same size.  No appointments this week.  Next on is the glucose tolerance test in 4 weeks like @ShadeofGreen816

Im also having the hip and sacral pain.

For the the super bowl we didn't go to a party but we did do take out Mexican.  I had an epic fail of eating out this weekend.  It's like I got weighed at my appointment and was disappointed at how much I've gained especially since I've been eating better and exercising.  So I guess being disappointed about gaining more than I think I should leads me to eating out a ton?  Gross.

    Yay for everyone hitting viability!

    28 weeks -- 3rd tri!

Baby is the size of a rollerblade.

No appointments this week but we are now onto bi-weekly appointments. Having glucose test and follow up u/s on kidneys next Monday.

Symptoms: I am as big as I was at the very end of my first two pregnancies but I am still feeling more comfortable although hot all the time. Mild spd and nausea in the evenings.

Rants/raves: MIL offered to pay for a second crib if we want one and the next morning DD figured out how to climb out of her crib so that's off the table now. We did stack two crib mattresses and lowered them to the ground so that will keep her in for now. Hopefully it'll last at least unti baby is born.

GTKY: I love pigs in a blanket and cheese sticks.

  • How far along are you? 25 weeks

    How big is baby? Cauliflower

    Any appointments this week? Nope

    Symptoms? Hungry.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Finally we can see little girl kicking. Also we haven't purchased a single thing for baby since we are paying off little debts (credit cards, etc) before she comes. I'm anxious to get her room ready.

GTKY: Since the Super Bowl was last night in the U.S., what's your favorite party snack food? Shrimp cocktail and chips with salsa.
  • How far along are you?  26 Weeks!!

How big is baby? The size of a bowling pin

    Any appointments this week? Nothing

Symptoms? Lower Back/ Hip Pain... I keep forgetting I can't do as much as I used to be able to... My allergies are awful!!

Rants/Raves/Questions? Last week for about 3 days in a row I was SUPER busy and realized I was barely feeling baby girl, as much I could still feel her so I wasn't too worried. I did decide to call on Friday before the office closed for the weekend just to ask what should be a warning sign, just in case... The nurse freaked out on me, demanded I come in so I would feel better over the weekend... I told her I was fine unless they think this is abnormal. She insisted I come in once again for my own peace of mind. I told her I wasn't worried, I usually feel her the most during TV time (which I had none of) I just wanted to know when to worry, and that I was currently teaching and couldn't leave. She then said "If your job is more important than your baby" So of course I scrambled sub plans together and ran out of school in 15 min for their last appointment.... The doctor as he was walking in the room, goes "Oh you're 25 weeks this is completely normal to have a fluctuation in movement, we'll check anyways so you can feel ok over the weekend" When I explained to him I wasn't worried until the nurse insisted I come in, he said "Oh I'm surprised she had you come in" OMG I was so mad!!! I ended up crying after leaving that appointment. That nurse did not listen to me, and really made me worry. I even explained to her that I have a history of loss and please don't make me worry unless it's needed. I should have gone with my gut... oh and of course since Friday she has been kicking up a storm, my husband has actually even really been able to feel her!!

GTKY: Since the Super Bowl was last night in the U.S., what's your favorite party snack food?

I love Costco's Spinach Dip warmed up with Hawaiian bread... Yummy....
  • Congrats on 3rd trimester @CherylE418. Hope the US shows improvements in the kidney area.

Congrats on 3rd trip to @fbmandy55 and @vrj0522

@Cubslove12 that totally sucks that the nurse basically forced you to come in and then she was wrong.  I am happy for you that everything is ok with baby but that's so stressful for her to act like you didn't care.  People don't seem to realize it's hard to get out of work especially at the last minute for a question that could be answered over the phone!
  • 26 Weeks today!

    The bump app says Kale

I have an appointment in two weeks for the glucose test and a growth check for the babies :)

one weird symptom is the skin on my stomach literally hurts to the touch. It looked bruised with DD too, like instead of stretch marks, but now it looks like red/purple splotches and some stretch marks thrown in and anything that touches it- shirt, bedspread, dd, etc- feels like little prickles and it HURTS.

RANT: I have hit the point where I can't get up off the couch (or on it really because moving myself hurts my vagina SO BAD). I also can't sleep at all. My daughter (who I've often talked about not sleeping) FINALLY slept from 830 to 7 am this morning and didn't need me once, but I could not sleep allllll night because my belly and everything lower HURTS so bad on our stupid bed. My husband bought a foam topper but it doesn't help as much as we thought. Seems early to resort to the couch, but sitting up is the only thing that feels good at this point. Everyone keeps telling me I have to slow down, and I don't like to. I don't like asking people to do stuff and I hate going slower because I'm used to tackling any and everything and I love little projects, but today I gave in. DD is at my moms for a few hours which my mom wants to start doing every monday to help us out. Also, I gave in and DH did ferber with my daughter and now she lets him lay her down too, so we've been switching each
    night.

I love any food. I love how FB food is appetizers so I'll pretty much eat any of them. I love potato skins and any kind of dip.

  • 26 weeks & the size of a bowling pin.

Since, I've never passed any of the 3 1-hour glucose tests I've taken while pregnant, I have the 3-hour glucose test tomorrow.  Sending passing vibes your way, @SWoodd2012!  It's also my monthly appointment and I'll have the STD blood test and TDap, sooooo all the needles.  Yay!

My hips feel like I recently took up running by doing a marathon.  Or maybe I spent all day on a horse? I'm waddling.

I bought a used, refinished dresser for the nursery yesterday.  It won't require any work from me and I'm super excited about it.

I ate my weight in puppy chow (muddy buddies) and deviled eggs yesterday.  I also like any cream-cheese based dip.

  • @NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot  Omg puppy chow!!! I love that stuff!

Good luck to everyone drinking the glucola! I'm hoping you will all pass with flying colors!
  • Yummmm puppy chow. I had NO appetite until maybe 3ish weeks ago and now I want to eat ALL THE THINGS. But mostly only unhealthy things.

Good luck to all the mommas doing their glucose tolerance test this week!!

@Cubslove12 How irritating for her to shame you into coming in. That's awful. She should have asked the dr. I get her telling you to come in, since that's the safest option, but to imply that you would prioritize anything over the health of your baby is really rude. :(
  • I'm so glad I scheduled my glucose test for after the superbowl.  I'm not sure I could have avoided the puppy chow under any circumstances.  It's my kryptonite.

  • It's crazy to think that so many people are hitting the 3rd trimester! It's not until March 6th for me, but I'm really looking forward to getting there. That feels like a huge milestone.

@Jkp7749, I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable! Have you tried one of those support belts? I sleep in mine when my hips are really killing me. I guess you're not supposed to use them too frequently, but it helps on occasion.

@Cubslove12, That nurse sounds so inappropriate. I would have been really pissed at the "your job is more important than your baby" comment. That's some serious mom shaming right there.

  • Thanks for the support ladies! I've gone through a lot to get to this point, I feel like I've worked really hard to keep my head on my shoulders and deal with everything rationally without allowing my past experiences to ruin this pregnancy. I wish that when I said I'm fine she would have believed me and just replied with something like this... if you would want to you can come in, if not try tonight to have some down time and see if you can feel her, if not you have our number.

All I wanted to know was when to worry and after all that I still don't have my answer.

I don't need to be coddled, treat me like an adult who ultimately will always have my daughter as my priority and can make the best decision with the facts needed.
  • @NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot  thanks for the positivity! I hope your test goes well today!   and way to make me want puppy chow even though my son and I made some a couple weeks ago. :)
  • @kns1988
I love your signature gif. I recently re-watched Jim and Pam's wedding episode...and cried a lot.
  • @fbmandy55 @kns1988 also just watched the wedding last week and ugly cried. Then this weekend we watched the birth of Cecelia! Just love love love Jim and Pam
  • I mentioned this in the ticket change thread. DH watches the wedding episode all the time. He's such a softie. It's definitely my favorite.

  • @SWoodd2012 I totally feel you on lack of progress on cleaning and setting up the new room, cleaning the house. The worst part is I couldn't get my husband to understand why it is so important to me. It took a total meltdown (I'm talking ugly crying) for him to realize how important it was to me. I felt so bad for my poor hubby.  It must be so strange for him to see his usually go with the flow wife is now super OCD about certain things I wasn't before.
  • How far along are you? 25 weeks!

    How big is baby? Cauliflower

Any appointments this week? Yesterday and everything was great. There is a cist on Noelle's ovarian, but doctor doesn't seem to concerned since it has not grown and it's very small.

    Symptoms? Acid reflux/heartburn

Rants/Raves/Questions? So happy to be closing on our home this Friday and then I will start on the nursey right away!

GTKY: Since the Super Bowl was last night in the U.S., what's your favorite party snack food?

    Rotel with ground beef
  • @MrsCPALeslie glad the ovarian cyst continues to stay the same instead of growing!  Fingers crossed that it stays that way!
  • Oops! Our posted in the wrong thread. I should be in Tuesday.
  • @rosemarylaff  ha! I'm sorry you're dealing with something similar...unfortunately for me I'm at home pretty much all the time and he is at work so I should be getting stuff done. But, I've never been a cleaner and he packed our last place up so the boxes are a disaster! :)  I have to learn how to do this house wife/SAHM thing :)
  • My random today: I haven't really felt too overwhelmed or cranky through this pregnancy but this week has been busy and rough. I'm having a very hard time at work today. We had a 5-hour board meeting yesterday, I didn't get lunch which caused issues with my GD/blood sugar spiking all night. Today my boss knowing we have a loaded day of meetings, came in late, left me to deal with a situation that put me in a tight spot. She knows it stressed me out because I was borderline exploding with tears dealing with it.

Our only other staff person works a half-day today and I most likely won't get lunch again today unless my boss sticks around all day and I have coverage to leave. Her married, secret-boyfriend is in the first meeting this morning and I'm willing to bet they will leave for lunch. That's going to leave me with 40 people to deal with alone for the afternoon class.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place and really feeling like I'm being taken advantage of today.
  • @fbmandy55 that sounds like a truly awful week so far! I'm impressed you haven't gone crazy on anyone yet! I'm sorry you won't get lunch.  That's terrible.  Is there anyone who could bring you lunch if your boss decides to skip out on you?

I have no recollection of posting this here. I swear it was in the randoms thread... Guess my lack of bad weeks all get made up for at the same time.

And I got a nose bleed right after posting.
  • @rkstro2 Yes, my dad is bringing me a salad. My boss offered but I rejected out of spite. She left me knowing that today has been insane and hoards of people were about to show up at our office and I would be alone so I kind of didn't feel like taking her up on the offer.
