I'm feeling the hormones today, my stomach is churning and feels like I'm upside down :-x Any ideas on how to help it settle down a bit? I knew this was coming, I just wasn't expecting it this early :-/
Looks like a trip to the supermarket is in order. Must arm myself with all kinds of snacks I'll hopefully be in the mood to reach for when the queasies hit! a friend also recommended trail mix. Nuts are high in fat and some protein to keep your stomach entertained longer. I'll report back!
So far I'm trying to just not think about it (ha, like that's working). My last pregnancy, I swore by jolly ranchers! Holy smokes were they awesome to take the edge off!!!
I just force myself to eat. I feel so sick just staring at my food, but after I'm done eating I tend to feel better. Plain carbs (pasta, crackers, etc.) seem to be the easiest.
My ob recommended eating something high in protein before bed to help with nausea the following day. I haven't tried that yet.

I've heard sipping Gatorade helps. I've been mad about Ginger Coke (do you have this in US? I'm in Aus) for whenever I've been feeling queasy lately! And vitamin B6 tablets are supposed to help with morning sickness as well.
@Anna97, no, we don't have ginger Coke here, OMG! I'm gonna have to stock up on my favorite healthy sports drink which is actually chock full of B vitamins. Maybe even make popsicles w it!! OOOOHHHHH, hello craving!!
Last pregnancy Ginger Root Beer helped me a ton. It's literally (organic) sugar, fizz, water, and ginger. Now that being said it's an acquired taste, and a little spicy. I ended up loving it by the end of my pregnancy, but it took me a bit to get used to it.
During my last pregnancy I swore by Preggie Pops....basically sour hard candy. Anything sour helped me!
I also found that having my belly either too full or too empty left me feeling queasy, so even when I didn't feel like eating, I made sure I didn't have an empty stomach.
Last pregnancy, nothing helped! I'm hoping to find some relief this time! Thanks for all the tips! I was sick for 20 weeks! Hoping it's not he case with this one. I've heard the first pregnancy can sometimes be the worst for nausea

I can't tell if I'm being paranoid, have a bug, or am already feeling symptoms but I've been nauseas all day. Has me nervous for the rest of this pregnancy! Eek
@mamabear148, I vary depending on the day. Some days I can't get enough of the sour apple and the sweet ones make my stomach turn. The next day all I want is watermelon.
I dont like the blue ones. Can't remember the flavour. So I have bags of jolly ranchers in my pantry just full of the blue ones haha
I've been drinking a lot of herbal teas - peppermint, lemon ginger and cinnamon have all helped. Carbonation makes the nausea worse for me, so I have been skipping the sodas and sticking to Hint water. I've been nibbling on dried ginger, graham crackers and dry Cheerios.
@Hiddenlake, I didn't know the jolly rancher trick during my first pregnancy either. Then in my second one someone on the bump suggested it. Seriously it was life changing! And easier to hide the pregnancy too! People don't question jolly ranchers like they do ginger ale and soda crackers at work
Because of you amazing ladies, I decided to try jolly ranchers. My hubby was so nice and offered to go get them, then he came back with Jolly Rancher Chews!!
Now I'm just sitting here binge eating candy and hugging the potty!
I guess I'll have to venture out into the world today!
I just caved and started on my first jolly rancher of this pregnancy. I had been trying to hold off because I don't need the sweets. But oh my goodness! It's amazing!!
I haven't started feeling too queasy yet but with my last pregnancy Sour Patch Kids were a life saver. Just don't eat too many because they do start to wear on your mouth after awhile. (Know from experience, haha!)

In the AM, altoids or brushing teeth. During the day, frozen reeses peanut butter cups (prefer the holiday ones though as they have more peanut butter!) This was my go to last pregnancy too lol
Re: Queasy mommas, what's helping your unsettled stomach?
I also find that ginger chews/candies help me when I have a stomach bug so I am going to order some of those.
