  • How far along are you
    27!

    How big is baby
    A fennec fox

    Any appointments this week
At the chiropractor as I write this and GTT right after. Nothing with the midwife until 02/16

    Symptoms
The usual. Heartburn woke me in the middle of the night for the first time Ina while this week, that wasn't fun!

    Cravings
Not a thing. I feel weird for not having crazy cravings!

    Rants/Raves/Questions
Hoping regular chrio appointments help ease my tailbone and pelvic pain!
Also fingers crossed I pass my GTT. No idea when I'll find out the results but I have a feeling if I fail horribly I'll get a call asap.

GTKY: Is your current job (stay at home mom counts as a job) your dream job or wouldn't you rather have the ability to do something else?
I work in mental health and addictions and I love what I do, but my ultimate dream job is to own my own small business. I'd love to open a little cafe, but little shops like that in my town never do well, so that's not likely a possibility for me ever lol. Unless I move which I'm not interested in doing what so ever.

  • @roper2617Good luck with your GTT today!

    How far along are you
    ? 25 weeks

How big is baby? a cauliflower

Any appointments this week? None this week, but I need to do the GTT next week or so.

Symptoms? Some growing pains and exhaustion.

Cravings? I have been eating a lot of sweets lately and I've told myself I need to cut way back after I finish the last slice of cake I have.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I think I have kind of finalized the baby registries, but looking back I can't believe I have spent that much time on it!

GTKY: Is your current job (stay at home mom counts as a job) your dream job or wouldn't you rather have the ability to do something else? Since I am still currently in school, I will look to the future! Ideally I would like to work part time and stay home the rest. I would also like to have my own business like owning a wedding venue or photography or something.
  • How far along are you? 24 weeks- yay viability!!!

How big is baby? Eggplant, adorable puffin, can of Pringles

    Any appointments this week? None

Symptoms? Heartburn, hunger, and (TMI) super weird BMs- but it beats constipation I suppose!

Cravings? Nothing specific, mostly just all of the foods. I've had an intense aversion to shrimp which seems to have dissipated, which is a happy development.

    Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope

GTKY: Is your current job (stay at home mom counts as a job) your dream job or wouldn't you rather have the ability to do something else? I'm an attorney, which I don't love. I work in a non-profit setting with DV survivors, which is fulfilling, but I'm not sure I would go to law school again if I could do things over. I've actually been considering going back to school to pursue nursing (L&D specifically)....but I'm not sure that's practical at this point. I'm 30 years old, about to have 2 little ones, and already have a mountain of student loan debt...so it looks like I'm stuck being an attorney :/ haha...I guess there are worse problems.

  • How far along are you? 27 weeks, hellllloooo 3rd trimester! At least according to my (potentially, slightly off) calendar.

How big is baby? Papaya (I hate my one app for doing the same item for several weeks at a time), Charlotte Royale Cake, and a head of lettuce.

Any appointments this week? Next Friday.

Symptoms? Mostly just the other night when Baby was squishing my stomach causing me to feel nauseated and have acid.  Oh, and crap sleep. Though it was SO much better the past 2 nights.

    Cravings? Nothing this week.

    Rants/Raves/QuestionsNah

GTKY: Is your current job (stay at home mom counts as a job) your dream job or wouldn't you rather have the ability to do something else? I enjoy my current job (admin assistant for Business Development at a large Corp.). However, my dream job has been to own an upscale baby boutique/ cafe. I've wanted this for about 10 years now and would still love to make it happen some day.

  • @jayandaplus I thought red raspberry leaf tea could encourage labor?

  • @nda_roxybabe From what I've read, it doesn't start your labor like that. I think the idea is you drink it the last trimester to strengthen your uterine and pelvic muscles and promote good tone. It is also chockful of vitamins. It's not like clary sage essential oil, which does trigger contractions so you should avoid it until you want baby out.

But again, I'm not 100% clear which is why I reaching out.

I can't believe you're in the third trimester!! Congratulations!
  • @jayandaplus Ooh, I'm totally going to ask my Dr. about it next week then!

Haha, thanks. Most calendars say 28 weeks starts 3rd tri, but hey! Nothing wrong with doing things a little early :p

  • @jayandaplus I am in school to get my Pharm.D. degree. Working on baby registries has definitely become a hobby or slight obsession! I'm sorry you have been exhausted and are having feelings of guilt. I hope that goes away soon!

@nda_roxybabe I can't believe your at third trimester, or almost there ;) I am excited, but somewhat in denial that third trimester is so close!
  • @jayandaplus I thought red raspberry leaf tea could encourage labor?
I always thought the same. Let us know what your doctor says @jayandaplus
  • @nda_roxybabe and @bacorrea I'm holding off now, and will let y'all know what my OB says.
@mspacman34 Oh, pharmD, lots you can do there! Thanks for the well wishes.
  • How far along are you? 27 weeks

How big is baby? Camping lantern, lettuce

Any appointments this week? Had a prenatal visit this morning as well as my GTT - which I passed (barely at 132) yay!

Symptoms? Back pain, sciatica pain, heartburn, hip pain....lots of pains :(

    Cravings? Nothing in particular.

Rants/Raves/Questions? As I said above super happy to not have gestational diabetes. I'm already a picky eater, so minimizing/taking away what I eat the most would be really difficult for me to do.

GTKY: Is your current job (stay at home mom counts as a job) your dream job or wouldn't you rather have the ability to do something else? I don't enjoy my current position, but in the next month sometime I will transition back to the medical side of things which I love. I'd have to say though that my dream job would be owning my own little bookstore/cafe in a smaller town.

  • How far along are you?  25 weeks

    How big is baby? Eggplant

Any appointments this week? I had one yesterday, things sounded good!

Symptoms? Just normal aches and pains

    Cravings? Chocolate

    Rants/Raves/Questions? Nah

GTKY: Is your current job (stay at home mom counts as a job) your dream job or wouldn't you rather have the ability to do something else? I love my teaching job and can't imagine teaching anything else. If I could really have my outlandish dream job, it would be traveling around the world with my family and getting paid to do so.

  • @newmamaro I love we all want our own little shop of some kind.
  • How far along are you? 26 weeks!

How big is baby? A bowling pin

Any appointments this week? I had one this morning with my new doctors office. Omg I love them. Baby looks great. I go back in two weeks for the glucose test and my whooping cough shot.

Symptoms? Just tired. Baby boy is moving a lot. I was a little uncomfortable last night.

Cravings? I really want some Sonic.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I love my new doctors office! I'm super glad I switched. Also kiddo is still breached. Boo. I know he still has TONS of time to
    turn, but still.

GTKY: Is your current job (stay at home mom counts as a job) your dream job or wouldn't you rather have the ability to do something else? I'm a SAHM. I have my MA in Public Policy. I love government and research. My dream job would be interior design. I will be home with my kiddos until they get into school though. DH is military, so I potentially see myself never going back to work depending on how his career goes. Once he is done with command we will move every two years until retirement most likely, so unfortunately that makes getting a job difficult.

    *lurking from Saturday Ticker Change*

I drank red raspberry leaf tea (got a batch of the actual dried leaves from a herbarium) during the entire third trimester (tones and strengthens uterine muscles and is nutrient dense), all under the guidance of my midwife. It does not cause early labor - DD was actually 2 weeks late and I had a very easy labor. She also advises dates throughout third trimester as well for similar reasons.
  • @bacorrea, my doctor mentioned baby boy being breech yesterday too. DD was at all of her ultrasounds besides one.

  • How far along are you? 25 weeks

    How big is baby? Cauliflower

Any appointments this week? I have one on Tuesday.

Symptoms?  I have to pee a lot.  Tolerable back pain.  Some heartburn.

Cravings? None really.  I've been eating lots of sweets so I'm a little nervous about GTT.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I wore maternity pantyhose this week and I couldn't tell the back from the front. Said.

GTKY: Is your current job (stay at home mom counts as a job) your dream job or wouldn't you rather have the ability to do something else?  I'm also a lawyer. I don't know it it's my dream job.  I made partner last year and I'm lucky to be at a firm that is family friendly.
  • @chailife34 Thank you for that perspective!
@clebl24 I hear you on worrying about all the sweets and then the GTT test!
  • SKZW said:
@bacorrea: my son was breech for awhile and I attribute prenatal yoga (and just giving myself that dedicated time/space every week) to getting him settled in head down.

I missed participating in the Friday ticker because it was my bday this weekend and was a lil' preoccupied... and will be sure to do it next time! I will say, though, that it feels awesome to be another week closer to the prize at the end of the journey  :)
    Cool thanks! Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
  • @SKZW, Happy Birthday!
