Infertility

HSG Results

I just got my HSG results and was told that I only have on fallopian tube on the left side. Luckily it is fully functioning. I am worried that mixed with my husbands low sperm count and poor motility that we are going to have some major issues. Any one have any experience with any of this. We are in the process of being referred to a fertility specialist. Patience is currently not a strength!! TIA

Re: HSG Results

  • I have one working tube and was given a lot of options so it's very possible!

**TW** I actually have a 3 year old and my doc said many people have a blocked tube and never know it, you can still get pregnant, she said for all we know my daughter was conceived while we had this blocked tube.

we are doing IVF for various reasons this time around but our RE suggested IUI while on clomid, or a procedure to open the tube. They're very hopeful with IVF if you were to talk that route.

    best of luck!

I also have one blocked tube (though it actually might be 2- we never found out).  My husband has low morphology and count.  My RE suggested we go straight to IVF with Icsi, as the odds of iui working were extremely low.  After 3 transfers we finally have success! Good luck :)

  • Thank you @APM_SLP and congrats. I'm glad to hear you had success.  I am just ready to get things going.
  • @APM_SLP I do have one question how long was the process once you met with your RE?
  • We had our consult in May of last year.  Egg retrieval was 8/3 and fresh transfer was 8/8. FET was 9/13 and my final FET was 1/3.

We had to do an extra genetic test,  and I had to have surgery to get a uterine polyp (they found it during my saline ultrasound)  removed prior to starting my stim meds.
