Its DH birthday on Sunday. I got him nothing. And am planning on getting him nothing. I also have nothing planned. Because I'm petty. When is the last time he bought me a gift or gave me a party?!?
FFFC: I love black licorice just not salted black licorice...bleck. @kaylaakosua
I am not a burper normally, but I've been burping so much recently! Not huge belches, more like little cropdustings of tiny burp bubbles lol

I'm wearing maternity leggings today because I needed new leggings and I didn't want to invest in regular ones I won't be able to wear in a month to two. They are the most comfortable thing I've ever put on my body. When another expectant mom in the maternity section of Target asked how far along I was, I lied and said 13 weeks, because I didn't want to admit to buying maternity clothes at 8 weeks pregnant, or that I'm just this chubby normally. I know, I side-eye me too.
I'm wearing maternity jeans today (10 weeks).... mainly because my pants that fit over the bloat are all dirty....

I really wanted to smack someone today who was making snarky comments about a friend 'with kids', who she only meets up with "like, once a year, when she actually gets a babysitter". Girl, do you know how EXPENSIVE babysitters are? And how difficult it is sometimes to even find a babysitter? Go home, you have no idea what you're talking about. Or, maybe make the effort to hang out with your friend AND her kids.
I guess this leads to a FFFC- I judge people who drop friends bc they had kids. All my friends had kids before me, and I still saw them regularly, and even (shocker) enjoyed it. This burns me a lot today because DH's car friends all went to the Philly auto show last weekend, and never even contacted us to ask if we wanted to go. We always do this together, and he was really hurt. DH ended up going to the DC auto show with DS and FIL, but he was upset, and I don't blame him. I was upset, too. Having a baby should not make you a social pariah.
Everyone at my work gets so excited over "jeans days." We usually have to dress in business casual wear. I hate jeans and wonder why anyone would ever want to wear them. My office pants are so much more comfy. I usually either wear slacks or dresses for comfort.
@ashley2824 We went to school near Hershey and lived there for a long time after college, so our friends from there were the ones who went to the Philly auto show. DH and I live in Maryland now, that's why he went to DC. I'm originally from Allentown, though!
I'm considering asking my OB to have my gender sono 2 weeks early (at 17 weeks, rather than 19) so we can find out the sex of the baby. My reason: there is a massive baby consignment sale locally at the end of that week where I can save a crapload of money on gear and clothes. I do about 80% of my girls' clothes shopping at it every time. And the next sale isn't until Oct.

@awildrose for safety they might not do the AS early, but maybe a blood test to check wouldn't be too much? Or just an extra ultrasound?
Yeah most OBs aren't very flexible with testing, especially this one. They want the baby big enough so it's easier to take measurements for the actual scan. Finding out the sex isn't the point of the scan, just an added bonus. But maybe you'll get lucky and they do it early. @awildrose
@Sugargirl1019 wow yeah there are lots of personal posts today.... the ONE day I'm busy all day and not on the board it heats up lol! Hey at least this time I wasn't involved in the drama lol!!! I love it. I got a good giggle out of a few comments lol
@amandarene112 I just went to Thyme and motherhood and stocked up. I've worn maternity leggings every day this week along with a nursing bra. And I too fibbed about how far along I was to the lovely ladies in the store.

True. I feel super petty not just waiting. Lol. We looked into the blood test and its $$$$. But an extra ultrasound is cheaper to pay for. Something to think about.

@lap018 I don't understand people who DO like coffee. Just kidding.
@kaylaakosua I used to do that all the time as a kid. I had a thing with cheddar cheese at the beginning of this pregnancy but (TMI) it made my constipation so much worse so I had to cut back.
My FFFC is that I've eaten Taco Bell twice this week. I don't know why, but when I'm pregnant I can't get enough of it. When I'm not pregnant, for the most part I can't stand it. I know this craving is most likely here to stay too because this and Chinese food were my two main vices with DS.
@runbyfruiting I swear Taco Bell has pregnant woman crack in it! I had some maddddd nacho cravings the other day and forced H to take me there! I could eat it every night! And not traditional Chinese but I could also eat Panda Express every day too!
I lurk on other boards to read the drama, but am so glad this group isn't drama filled! Although, I haven't been on all day and am curious to look at all the personal posts! Please no! I love this board and how supportive it is! No drama for this mama!
Also, I usually have 8:00a Saturday morning workouts before work. I cancelled for tomorrow because I'm just. So. Tired. Blamed it on morning sickness!

@gracefulstar glad I'm not the only one! It seriously took me so long to clue into 'this must be a pregnancy symptom' because I've never heard of it before. (Although i have heard that every pregnancy is different, so you can't predict what your body will start to do in response )

As someone who was on the bump boards prior to the changes made on here, I honestly think it's boring now. I don't think people who are new to the board should be pounced on for not posting in exactly the right spot. It's early in our pregnancies and it's probably going to happen a lot as more new members join. I also miss having drive bys, everything is so regimented. I stop by a few times a day, but I don't read much besides STM threads and others that pertain to me.
@ColoradoHiker the drive bys, dirty lurkers and the trolls are what made me come back to the bump this second time. But I'm thinking it's still early and the trolls will come back and provide me some awesome entertainment.
Ok, so I'm a Bump newbie and the best practices still seem a little cloudy, despite reading the rules post twice now. (Once originally, again after scanning this thread.) I get that symptoms/ultrasounds/food stuff/emotions all have their own set threads to keep from cluttering the forum up, but are all other topics encouraged to just go in the random thread? To me, I assumed that was just for random, non-pregnancy stuff, not any other unlabeled conversation. I started a thread on sleep bras for large cups, for example, because it didn't seem suited for another thread. (At the time, I didn't want to derail the symptoms thread.) Should that go elsewhere? Are discussions about gear recommendations (cribs, strollers, etc.) discouraged from their own threads? Other than a loss update, what *is* considered fodder for an individual thread? I'm honestly curious, since I am a total newb here, and there are interesting undercurrents at play. Thanks for clarification and being the voices of experience!
@IdleFancy I think a good general rule of thumb for a one-off post that doesn't seem to belong any specific place is if it's a topic or discussion that will help more people than just you. Your bra post was really helpful to a lot of people (myself included- I definitely have lurked every answer on that one), but someone asking or AW-ing something specific only to them (i.e.: and intro post only for themselves, asking about their specific HCG levels, etc) is not helpful to the community as a whole. Also, GTKY threads are always fun.
@IdleFancy I'm pretty new to these forums, too. I think what amandarene said is pretty good rule of thumb. I kind of think about it like being in a big class... I wouldn't raise my hand and waste everyone time to ask a question that only pertains to me, I would just stay after class. (These posts go on a big thread.) But if I had a question that might help everyone else, pertain to the whole class I would use class time to ask. (These might need a new post.)
@amandarene112@HollyGolightly09 Thanks for the elucidation, y'all! That makes more sense and I'm now oddly relived to have not stepped on toes with that bra post.
@Carebella Solid point! That will probably be my go-to on here, too.

I just melted cheese to eat it (drained the excess oil). Just cheese, off of a fork. Pregnancy is weird.
