Doctor Advice

Hello All!  I am looking for a little advice with a current doctor issue.  I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and my usual doctor had to take medical leave, leaving me to have to see a different doctor up through delivery.  This is my third pregnancy and I have a record of preeclampsia with my last two pregnancies, delivering around 34 weeks. My usual doctor and I had a plan that if my blood pressure started going up, she would start me on a low dose medication to see if that helped and try to prolong my delivery time.  She had a successful case with another patient of hers doing this.  Well, my blood pressure is slowing creeping up and now this new doctor I am seeing doesn't believe that medicine is a good idea and is changing the whole plan originally set.  This new doctor is freaking out about blood pressure readings my normal doctor was ok with before she left and keeps wanting to admit me to the hospital!  I know my doctor left detailed notes in my file before she left so the new doctor should be able to see them.  I feel like this new doctor is causing me more anxiety and for my blood pressure to rise at every appointment!  Would it be wrong for me to ask to see a different doctor and switch?

    Never wrong to do what you feelis best and makes you comfortable with your doctor and the medical decisions being made. You're the paying customer, it's your body, your baby, your pregnancy-switching may not change the outcome, but if another opinion brings you more peace-->then absolutely go for it!

    I agree with @kjd291 nothing is more important than being comfortable with the doctor that's helping you bring your babies into this world. 

    I experienced a slightly similar situation with my last pregnancy, and it was really difficult to find a Dr that I loved as much as my original. I'm sorry you have to have that change thrown on you! 

    No harm in visiting with a couple other doctors!
