How big is baby? Asparagus, 11 lb jar of Nutella!! (I've never seen one personally but I'm not opposed to them)
Appointments this week? Just a checkup on Friday.
Symptoms? Oh man, all the symptoms. My back hurts, my sciatic nerve hurts when I walk, I'm gassy, I'm slow, I'm tired, I'm swollen, and I feel humongous. Plus my good friend Upper Respiratory Infection appears to be making its biennial appearance..... so I'm waking up with coughing fits in the middle of the night.
Rant/Rave/Questions? My rave is that DH is being super sweet and helpful right now even though I know he's super busy with school. My rant is that I think LO has had a growth spurt and I think I've gained several lbs in the last week alone. I know this happens, but it's still demoralizing.
GTKY: (totally stolen) What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? Two things I can think of: 1) I'm left-handed 2) I play piano, guitar, drums and ukulele!
How far along are you? 30 weeks! 9 weeks until RCS...holy schnikes!
How big is baby? Half of a large Cheesecake Factory cheesecake...and now I want cheesecake.
Appointments this week? Regular OB checkup next Monday, and I think my GBS test? Also switching to appointments every two weeks...ahh!
Symptoms? Itchy and tired. And I keep getting nauseous in the evenings so I don't eat dinner, but then I wake up starving. Blah.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I want a freaking beer. Why does everything that my family does revolve around going to wineries, breweries, etc.? This didn't bother me at all when I was pregnant with DS but it's making me crazy this time around.
GTKY: (totally stolen) What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? When I am bored and have free time (which is NEVER) I could sit around and play The Sims for HOURS.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm getting irritated by people (our extended family mostly) taking shots at our family's life decisions - i.e. OUR decision for me to be a SAHM until children are in school (which was well thought out and decided on prior to even getting married and having children), my husband traveling a lot to help support his family. If you don't live in my house and are not my husband or my children then
@SnarkasaurusRex Your rant is ALL me! It wasn't a problem for me to go beer-less when I was pregnant with DS or when DH and I went alcohol free for 10 months. But I want all the beer this pregnancy. I drool when I see DH drinking a beer. Also, I love the Sims, but haven't played in many years because it's a total time suck. You can't just play for one hour, it has to be a 5+ hour Sims binge.
@KirstinH88 Like, we're going to a brewery tomorrow night and will be there for HOURS for an event that DH and my dad wanted to go to...and I'm just like... At least that one has really good food.
And 100% agree on the Sims time suck...there is no in between! Binge or nothing!!
@SnarkasaurusRex I've been craving beer so bad this time around.. we went to a brewery last month and I was sniffing DHs beers.. normally I'm not a big drinker and it doesn't bother me.. the bartender probably thought I was nuts
We haven't done as much brewery stuff mercifully, but I do try to steal a sip of any of DH's beers that I haven't tried before. Interestingly enough, I haven't really been craving beer (which is typically my go-to alcoholic drink) but when I have a sip of red wine right now I want to consume the rest of the bottle.....
Feeling good other than being tired and still dealing with my rib pain. I do fine until I sneeze, then I'm in pain the rest of the day. Serious ribs. Feel free to go ahead and heal. Like now. Peeing a lot is another one, and I'm thisclose to wearing a diaper.
Rant/Rave/Questions?
Alright, those of you craving beer and wine, add me to the list. Every time I've smelled a glass of pinot noir, I go nuts. I will indulge in a small glass with a meal from time to time, but I just want more, so I've kept that indulgence to a minimum.
GTKY: (totally stolen) What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? I still like to physically write in a journal. I did it all the time when I was a teenager and it was great therapy. I got out of writing during college, but got back into it after. I'm not a writer by any means, but I do enjoy opening up a blank page and writing down whatever rambling thoughts I have. I can't ever remember anything anymore, so I like being able to go back and see what was going on in my mind.
Symptoms? I'm exhausted. I think I've been doing too much though.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Speaking of booze cravings....Garden and Gun has a picture of a cocktail on their cover this month and I want that drink so badly...
I die. I could literally lick that glass. I might have to just rip off the cover because I can't keep looking at that everyday.
GTKY: (totally stolen) What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? I'll keep going with the booze theme...this pregnancy has taught me that I am a drinker. I don't have an abuse problem, I just really enjoy alcohol. We make cocktails every night and have a huge collection of spirits, bitters, tonics, etc. Going to the liquor store is a "fun" errand for us. While there have been some cocktails that I am really missing (dry martinis and manhattans esp.), our cocktail knowledge has actually meant that we mix up some really good mocktails that aren't just fruit juice and sugar. My favorite is elderflower tonic + soda water + cherry bitters. I've also gotten really into shrubs (vinegar & fruit syrups) and that has been a lot of fun to learn about (and make!). My husband is actually looking into starting his own distillery right now (like not a home-brew operation, like a real business with tanks and stuff), so we are just boozy people.
@Magheeta I used to write copiously too, and then college note-taking ruined my wrists. I also think faster than I write so it gets messy. But I just started bullet journaling this year and it's easier! I'm not super creative and artsy like everyone on Pinterest, but short bullet points instead of full, connected sentences helps me get a lot out in few words. I'm loving it.
@Omie_Wise Your mocktails sound super fun! We went to a fancy restaurant when we were in Chicago in December and they made me the most delicious, very fancy mocktail. Wish I could remember what was in it
Starting to slow down. I'm still exercising and able to do most things. But I'm starting to get tired after a whole day of working. I really want to finish the nursery soon as before I know it the LO will be here.
Rant/Rave/Questions?
Just really busy with work. A lot of deadlines that I need to finish before the squish comes.
GTKY: (totally stolen) What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? I love gardening!

@Omie_Wise, can we be friends IRL? I love your cocktail enthusiasm! I'm going to have to try your elderflower tonic drink. I got into Hendricks, St. Germain, and soda one summer and it was heavenly. I don't even like gin, but that drink...oh my.
Appointments this week? Nope, I'm on my "off week"
Symptoms? Have to pee ALL the time. If, ok when, I wake in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, it takes me a loooong time to fall back asleep. Hmm, I think I said this last week. Oh well, it's still true!
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rant: I still have SO much I would "like" to get done before babe arrives, but still zero motivation. I get one small burst and get lots done and then it's weeks before I do anything else. C'mon nesting, kick in so I can get crap done!
GTKY: (totally stolen) What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? Hmm...I was homeschooled K-12, I don't think I have mentioned that?
How far along are you? 31 weeks (Plus a day because I'm late posting!)
How big is baby? Asparagus, Pineapple, or a Football! (Go Sports!)
Appointments this week? None this week
Symptoms? Finally gave in and started taking Zantac for my heartburn. Otherwise generally feeling uncomfortable between the braxton hicks and the RLP.
Rant/Rave/Questions? OMG so excited that we are talking about drinking! I've been crazy craving a good cocktail for about 7 months. Like @Omie_Wise we are very into cocktails at my house. In fact, last night we went to one of the best cocktail bars in the city and they were able to make me a mocktail that nearly replicated the Manhattan that has been haunting me.
Picture is huge but totally worth it!
GTKY: (totally stolen) What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? Aside from cocktails we also play a lot of video games in my house. I'm about 2/3 done with the most recent Tomb Raider... it's a nice distraction when I need to stop thinking about work or baby stuff.
Jumping on the gin chat - super easy "cocktail" that is f-ing delicious: Gin, Lemon Sanpellegrino soda, generous squeeze of lime. Born of necessity a couple summers ago when we forgot to buy tonic. Mmmmmm.
