Vitamin B6?

Has anyone else been recommended Vitamin B6 to help with morning sickness?

My OB suggested it during my last pregnancy but I never ended up taking it. I'm wanting to be proactive this time with a toddler running around. But I have no idea how much to take.

Anyone know?

@mommac2017 , an article I read said it is important as it helps relieve morning sickness, optimize brain function and speed up metabolism.  It said you can get enough of it from natural sources such as eggs, strawberries, avocado, carrots, nuts, beans, peas and spinach.  I'm just trying to eat a healthy amount of some of these, but I'm sure there would be a supplement you could take if you desired

  • I'm taking a B6 supplement, 100mg. I asked my pharmacist about it and she said the amount didn't really matter as you just pee out what you don't need or use.
  • @Crystal7perry, thank you!!! Everything I read said 25mg and I bought the 100mg and started to panic!
  • I used it for my last pregnancy. The morning sickness was so bad I actually paired it with Unisom and it seemed to help some. I eventually had to carry zofran bc I couldn't function some days.
April can't come soon enough!! (bc I know exactly what's coming, LOL)

  • @MamaBear148, do you remember your dosage and how often you took it??

Oh man. I *think* it was 25mg of vitB6 and 1/4 tablet of unisom, twice a day. Don't quote me on that tho. It was almost 3 years ago
  • My OB gave me a paper with amounts for B6 and Unisom and if course I can't find it now since I got it back in October with my last pregnancy. Probably threw it away in a fit of rage after my mc

I just asked one of my friends and she said 1/2 ! Unisom
