Re: IF Check-in Week of 1/30
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? I am just exhausted all the time. Worse than in the beginning. I am wondering if its being officially off all the IVF meds as of last week.
3. When is your next appointment? Next Thursday, 20 week scan.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: I have zero patience with dumb people. How do you try to keep your cool. I need some tips.
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Nothing too crazy, just a lot of hip pain at night and I can't get comfortable, even with my maternity pillow.
3. When is your next appointment? Tomorrow morning fetal echo! Always excited to see the baby, and just hoping all is well with her little heart!
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: I have a skin infection on my foot that I think is from a spider bite. Went to the ER last night because my foot was swelling up and now I'm on antibiotics. I can't sleep unless there's an ice pack on my foot because this is the only thing that relieves it. That, combined with my hip pain at night, makes for a LOUSY night's sleep! I sure hope these antibiotics kick in really soon
QOTW: Tell us about your wedding (colors, theme, location, etc)! Or if you aren't married, what is your dream wedding? DH and I got married in November 2014 at a country club in a canyon near my parents' house in So Cal. It was sort of a traditional/vintage theme (lots of lace and candles). Colors were ivory, sage, lavender, and gold accents. It was the best day of my life up until this point, so magical! I also absolutely LOVED planning it!
Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014

FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN
FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? I've been having a lot of abdominal/pelvic discomfort, RLP, and back pain. I'm also hungry and tired all the time.
3. When is your next appointment? February 22nd
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: I joined team blue! I had my anatomy scan last week and baby is definitely a boy. There was a super obvious penis that he flashed us right off the bat at the start of the scan. Everything looked good with baby. He's healthy and had a growth spurt apparently because he's measuring 1w6d ahead. My husband and I are so over the moon happy that he's healthy and everything looked good. They checked my cervix since I'm at an increased risk of cervical incompetence due to a prior cervical surgery but it looked great. So that was a relief.
QOTW: Tell us about your wedding (colors, theme, location, etc)! Or if you aren't married, what is your dream wedding? My wedding was super simple. My husband and I eloped at a quaint little cottage bed and breakfast in the mountains near our home. We didn't really pick out decorations and all that so we didn't have wedding colors. The bed and breakfast was decorated for Thanksgiving so I guess fall colors would have been our colors? But my flowers were just basic cream colored roses. The cake was just a basic (and small!) white and cream colored cake. Everything was very simple. But it worked for us.

20 weeks today
What symptoms are you experiencing this week?
Same old aches and pains, shortness of breath, and add in nasty reflux that I'm hoping will go away.
When is your next appointment?
In two days I have a regular prenatal checkup.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rave: our a/s went well and we're having a girl!
Rant: my inlaws wanted us to go out to dinner with them yesterday after telling us they just got over a stomach bug. Keep your germs to yourself people! I hope it was the same one we had last week because I cannot go through that again!!!
QOTW: Tell us about your wedding (colors, theme, location, etc)! Or if you aren't married, what is your dream wedding?
We got married in 2005 (I know - ancient history). We had an Oct 1st wedding in Vermont. It was a beautiful sunny day, 70 degrees and breezy. Theme was autumn and colors were burgundy and cream. We were married on top of a mountain with great views, and we had a reception at a nearby hotel. Our families had a great time and I couldn't have asked for a better day. One funny thing I remember is that I didn't go pee all day for some reason. I can't believe I held it for like 12 hours!
BFP Oct 2011 - DD born July 2012
TTC again since July 2014
First IUI 9/26/16: BFP!
EDD 6/19/2017
It's a girl!
Born 6/26/17, 9lb 5oz
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Appetite was crazy last week, but returning to normal this week (I had weeks like that with both DS and DD). Otherwise just tired and growing more uncomfortable by the week as my belly grows. All things I expected, but still can't quite prepare for.
3. When is your next appointment? 2 weeks - I need to go in for monthly scans given the 2 vessel cord diagnosis.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: Getting very excited for this weekend! My parents are coming to visit as my father and I always watch the SB together. Very exciting since our Pats are in it this
QOTW: Tell us about your wedding (colors, theme, location, etc)! Or if you aren't married, what is your dream wedding? Mid-Nov of 2010 in Boston (the fall is my favorite!) We had a downtown wedding and our room overlooked Quincy Market/Faneuil hall. I had the Red Sox mascot pay a visit (our guests went nuts!). Our colors were fall themed - dark purple (eggplant) and the reception had fall tones throughout the centerpieces (eg purples, burnt/autumn orange, red tones).
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? well since our anatomy scan confirmed an anterior placenta, I can say with some certainty that the jabs in my sides at night have been baby! This week I caught a sinus infection so that sucks but otherwise we're doing great!
3. When is your next appointment? went for our anatomy scan this morning!!! Baby was so awake and wiggly and very compliant. The tech said he/she is very photogenic. We didn't find out gender today...it's sealed in an envelope on my dining room table until Saturday. Yikes!!! Longest week ever! Also have my OB appointment on Friday.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: almost finished getting all of the furniture for the nursery. Just need the get the dresser. DH and my stepson worked so hard last weekend building shelves in the closet and spackling. Just need Saturday to come to decide on the final paint color! Also purging the house of crap today...and it feels WONDERFUL!
QOTW: Tell us about your wedding (colors, theme, location, etc)! Or if you aren't married, what is your dream wedding? DH and I got married September 2013 and our priest made our church ceremony hilarious. I just laughed the entire time which was great because otherwise I would have sobbed. I was 12 minutes late getting to the church and according to our Pastor that means there's 12 children in our future. As much as I love babies, I don't know that I could handle 12.
So many congratulations to you all...I know how hard the IF struggle is, with treatments and worries, so excited for all of you!
@krex I'm so glad to see you've joined us over here! I added you to our check-in

3. When is your next appointment? end of february
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: I found out last Wednesday that I'm having a BOY!!! Ezra is on his way. I went out this weekend and bought him some clothes and a couple cloth diapers. It was so cool buying for my own child.
QOTW: Tell us about your wedding (colors, theme, location, etc)! Or if you aren't married, what is your dream wedding? I got married way back in 2007 but divorced him in 2009 (he had sobriety issues). I've been single since (yes it gets really lonely at times). I think my colors were pink, cream, and light green from what I can remember.
@krex welcome!
1. How far along are you? 19w4d. Almost half way!
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Hip and back pain is setting in. Hip pain is all on my right side to the point that in some positions I am having tingling/pins and needles sensations all through that hip, which is very uncomfortable. Planning to ask my doc about it next week.
3. When is your next appointment? A/S on the 7th! Can't wait to see baby again. We aren't finding out the sex and I'm starting to get a little nervous about the tech slipping up. I actually had a dream really early in my pregnancy that the tech accidentally told me and I was devastated.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: I think baby is finding some leg strength the last couple of days! I've had fluttery movement for about a week or so which I love, but yesterday I felt a couple more forceful thuds and this morning it actually woke me up at like 5 am. I almost woke up DH to feel it because I thought I could feel it on the outside but then things quieted down in there.
QOTW: Tell us about your wedding (colors, theme, location, etc)! Or if you aren't married, what is your dream wedding? We got married in June 2013 at the botanical gardens here in Richmond. It was great because it was already so beautiful I hardly felt like I had to do much decorating. My bridesmaids were in navy and we had yellows and oranges in the flowers.
1. How far along are you? Expecting Mother is 21 weeks today!
2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? None (though she has complained of heartburn, feeling "as big as a house" and really bad morning sickness (she's on Zofran))
3. When is your next appointment? Not sure...her last "check-up" was 1/19, so probably close to that same time in Feb.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions: She called us last week to let us know we're having a girl! We've picked a name (tentatively), and I'm working on nursery decorations. We're trying to figure out when to best go visit her...flights are pricey, but we're thinking mid-March!
QOTW: Tell us about your wedding (colors, theme, location, etc)! Or if you aren't married, what is your dream wedding? I got married way back in 2008, in Indiana. Our colors were sage green, cream, pale pink, and we got married/held the reception in an old Masonic Temple turned Community Center in the town where I'm from.
I would love a do-over...I loved our wedding, but our wedding photographer disappeared after the wedding, so we hardly have any photos from the wedding/reception. We've talked about having a big party for our 10th anniversary, and this way baby girl can be involved too!
@kmd0501 Disney fever is the precise reason we ended up going there for our baby moon! How exciting that you'll be getting some ears for your little one! I'm hoping to incorporate the ears into her newborn photos if possible
@ClaireCF Happens to me ALL the time where I'll feel some huge kicks and then it stops the second I put DH's hand on my belly! He has felt her a couple times, but it doesn't happen that often. I hope your hip pain eases up. It really sucks trying to sleep with burning hips

@Elyse1384, I'm adopted as well! We really want an open adoption, but are letting our expecting mother sort of shape how she wants it to go. So far, she just wants letters and photos, no real visits (so I guess more of a semi-open adoption). If she changes her mind, however, we're happy to work in visits to see her and the like. We've shared phone numbers and call and text each other a few times a week, but haven't shared last names or anything.
Honestly, I'm happy to answer any questions, if anyone has more! I love talking about adoption (as I'm adopted as well), and I'm pretty much an open book!
I also think it's wonderful that you are happy to keep the adoption as open as the birth mother is comfortable with, which also leads me to believe that you will be very open with your baby about the adoption and her heritage! That is a recipe for a fantastic parent/child relationship as she grows up!

with the below Family Circle clipping for my mom (she knew I was adopted as my parents celebrated my adoption anniversary like a birthday). My mom kept it on the fridge my entire childhood and I always remembered it. I always like to share with other adoptive parents or adoptees.
@kdanjou I love the mountains. What a gorgeous place to get married with all those fall colors.
@krex....very nice color choices we were clover green, cream, and pale pink. I love hearing your adoption process. I have no real connection except it is nice to hear such a sweet story.

4. Rants/Raves/Questions:
I have a head cold and feel totally drained. I have a bunch of parent conferences schedule, so I have just been pushing through at school but teaching sick sucks. On a sweet side, DS (3yo) has been so cute with my illness, going out of his way to put a blanket on me, giving kisses, and extended snuggles.
QOTW: Tell us about your wedding (colors, theme, location, etc)! Or if you aren't married, what is your dream wedding?
We got married in July of 2009 in Durham NC. Our colors were clover green, cream, and pale pink. We wanted to have fun, so we had an awesome DJ, lots of food, and an open bar. It was an amazing party.
