Having hard time with side effects

Hope everyone is doing well.

We are currently in the TWW on our IVF #3 fresh cycle on short protocol. While we still pray for positive outcome I’ve started to be worried of what all the meds and hormones have done to me. My mood has gone blue and I know it’s from the estradiol tablets I’m taking since it happened to me before. Two days ago I noticed rash on my belly, my skin has started to break out on my face and chest and today I’ve had weird fluttering in upper abdomen on and off since I woke up. I’m so scared to find out how fibroids may have been growing with all these hormones, I’ve had two removed in past of which first one prior to any IF meds grew rapidly and was the size of a grapefruit when removed in laparoscopic hysterectomy back in 2013.

So my question is whether I’m just super sensitive or is anyone else having hard time with the side effects?

My TTC history:
TTC since 2013. Unexplained Infertility *Low ovarian reserve
Fibroid removed August2013
3 cycles on Glomid 2015
IUI#1 August2015 - BFN

IVF #5 June2017 (1 egg retrieved, polysermy) Mini IVF - Bust  :'(:'(:'(
IVF #6 August2017 (4 eggs retrieved, 4 fertilized, transferred 2) - BFN no frosties

@ifyoucandreamit- I haven't had those side effects in my tww before but I would def check with your RE. I was on estrogen patches instead of the pill so maybe that could be something to try with less side effects? I'm so sorry you are feeling blue and having physical effects. Hopefully it will all be worth it soon!! When is your beta?

JamieH2000 thanks I will check about patches instead of the pill as it really seems to be the only med I get side effects from, I mean sure I get bloating from stims but this one really affects me mentally! My beta is on Sunday, I may POAS on the day to be prepared for the call.
How are you doing, thinking of you x

mandasand sorry to hear that, did you switch to another Gonadotropin? They truly are tough on our bodies, but in the end all will be worth it, I hope <3 I haven't broke out rash on the previous cycles and now it's completely gone so I wonder if it was some weird allergic reaction of something I ate?
Fluttering also stopped but I'm going to check about that with my physician.
How are you doing, did you start stims yet?

@ifyoucancandreamit- I would def take physical effects over mental too!! Hopefully it gets better soon :) hang in there, you are a tough cookie! We got word that all 6 embryos are still developing so it will be a day 5 transfer! It's so amazing but I'm so nervous how they will keep doing!

@mandasand- any chance they can up your gonal? I was on 450 and 2 vials menopur and I think the max doses really helped me get the max I could since all 12 eggs came from my one good ovary. Thinking of you!

@JamieH2000 yes until Friday...I have another ultrasound and they said cyst or not, I'll start injections next weekend. I got my period and I really think that's why I have a cyst, I'm on cycle day 38 so my cycles have become so long now. I think that's why I got the cyst but I am hoping it will shed with my period. If not, they will inject it so we can move on. They told me not to worry about my follies...I have so many in there but even if they all went away, I am constantly recruiting so I should not worry about my AFC.

BTW, what was your AFC when you started injections???

@mandasand- glad you are getting started Friday no matter what! I really hope it goes away on its own. This time my AFC was 13 (last time was 8 or 9). I got 12 eggs, but only 8 mature. I don't know if the starting matters too much, probably more the protocol. Do you have your doses/protocol for this time yet?

@JamieH2000 ok...I find we are pretty similar and I had 11 AFC when they checked Thursday. Last round I had 8 so it looks like the estrogen is working and not suppressing. Last round I had 8 too...and we were both on Lupron protocol. I'm hoping the antagonist will also be successful for me. As far as I know it's 300 gf and 2 vials Menopur with granilix.

@bestofjoy wow, that's a lot of eggs! I would be over the moon with 10 and having half of those fertilize!

    @mandasand
Yeah, both RE and I were shocked, I don't know what happened, since I was on "just" 150 Gf and one Menopur. I was thinking I was doing a mini-IVF but I guess he just went ahead and did a regular with lower dose (kind of misleading).  Only 13 fertilized and were initially very bad quality. I really think quantity diminishes quality and overstimulation is really bad. RE didn't agree but it turned out I was right. I'm also suffering through OHSS now, though he didn't want to admit it. One week post retrieval, I have huge ovaries, episodes of excruciating pain, and now fever and nausea. All in all not a good experience at all.

@mandasand- I really hope this protocol will make all the difference for you!! It sounds like we are on the exact same protocol except I did 450 of follistim and 2 of menopur. Both of my REs I consulted with seemed to think it was important to be agressive out of the gate with stims and I was shocked at my first monitoring to have like 10 growing. I would maybe ask your RE of he would be willing to up the follistim. With us, there is no risk of OHSs so might as well be as aggressive as possible... doesn't hurt to understand his thinking at least!

@ifyoucandreamit-I'm so sorry :( every BFN is devastating but especially after multiple IVFs and with no frozen embabies. Definitely a good idea to take some time to asssess next steps. That will probably be our plan if this fails. I have already started considering donor after my last failure. Happy to chat if you ever need someone :)  thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I'm feeling hopeful since this the closest I've gotten, but also like I won't get lucky since I really haven't had much in this journey yet. Trying to take it one day at a time. Hang in there strong lady!
