Does anyone else on this BMB cloth diaper? I cloth diapered my DD from the time we got home from the hospital until she potty trained. As a newborn I loved Grovia & workhorse prefolds. Once she got into one size, my favorites are Bumgenious. I have lots of limited edition diapers which is why I never sold any. Good thing so I can use them for this surprise #2.
What is your favorite cloth diaper?
If you want to know more about cloth diapering feel free to ask.

Re: Cloth Diapers
Daycare where we moved is definitely against cloth diapering so we aren't with baby 3, and I'm so sad about it.

This time I'm going to start with woolies and maybe stick with it through potty training. We'll see.

I think we will use cloth again with this new baby. I like bumgenius pockets mainly and I also like grovia aio because I have petite girls and I like how trim they are.

I have lo in CD now and have since her cord stump fell off (7 months). She is small so we use the prefolds with pins and coveralls. I love the prefolds we get from greenmountaindiapers.com because they have a thinner "half sizes." I have always felt we get a good fit with them. I used to use snappies (so much easier!) But switched to pins once she started scooting because the snappie was making the diaper rub and give her a rash. I like the blueberry coveralls. They are waterproof and keep the blowouts contained. We have lost very few outfits using these. There is a newborn size too, which I was super glad we had. She wore them until she was 3 months.
Stash breakdown:
2 doz newborn
2 newborn covers
3 doz novice
3 doz intermediate
6 coveralls 10-40#
3 doz wipes
We also do cloth wipes & spray for pee. I made some from extra flannel receiving blankets and I have some Birdseye ones. I like them both. Poop and night time get disposable wipes. I have used bother honest company spray and bum genius spray (diluted and full strength) and like them both.
We use a dry pail for pee diapers and a wet pail for poo diapers. I opted to preset my washer to a non quick was and many extra rinse cycle. We use arm & hammer free and clear and have ever had a problem with buildup. Stains will fade with sun exposure. I wash diapers every other day.
I use cloth when we are out and about so we have 3 mini wet bags and 2 larger wet bags. I really like the ones from Damero and they were inexpensive. I always take one small (to isolate poop) and one large bag (holds about 8 diapers) with us.
We have a charlie banana (?) Sprayer for the toilet. Best thing ever. Makes cleaning poo diapers not nearly as daunting.
She is still early into the weight range on the intermediate diapers so I hope that is the last set I have to buy....
I think that sums up our CD experience lol.
@Starla As I first time mom and/or CDing I would suggest AIO or pocket diapers they seem to be to as close to a "sposie" as you can get. Once you get the hang of those I would say try out a Prefold.
@khenry12 I love Green Mountain Diapers. Those are the only Prefold & workhorse type that I use.
My mom & my inlaws keep my DD so I taught them how to use my diapers but I also built a "grandparent" stash so if by chance they ruined a diaper it was not one of my favs. Once my DD started preschool they were good with cloth diapers so I have been lucky. I'm glad to connect with other CD moms. When I was PG last time with my DD the CD board was great and I also found great Facebook groups. These last few weeks it seems as though the CD has not been as busy. I was afraid CD was not as popular as it was 4 years ago. I love for people to ask me about my CD in public.

I've done looooots of research and I think we'll start with a basic stash as a mix of pockets and prefolds to see what I prefer personally and to have flexibility, and then build a more substantial stash once we decide what we like the best.
I'm not 100% sure if I want to start right away or do disposable at first so I don't have to deal with the meconium and getting used to a NB AND CDs at the same time...maybe phase it in? Same with overnight...I might start with just daytime and see how it goes.

I only use Prefolds, fitteds, & workhorses with covers while we are at home. If we were going out we put on a pocket or AIO for easy on the go changes
@BigBadWolf12 With my first I started CD from the moment we got home the hospital. To me since everything was new and I was going to have to get a routine going I might as well throw CD in the mix. If I would have started one routine then try to add CD into that - to me that would have made it harder. Everyone is different. The meconium poop was not as bad as the "peanut butter" poop. I also had disposable liners in my CD during the meconium phase. Your overnight routine will definitely be different then your daytime routine and you may have to adjust your nighttime more than your daytime

There are some great Facebook groups that's have all the info you could need. Cloth diapering 101 and BUMGENIUS BST are two that I reccomend. I am fortunate enough to live close to a natural parenting store called the Nappy Shoppe which has classes and tons of resources available for CDing. They have a Facebook page and webpage that also have tons of info!
