Cosleeper Recommendations

This is my third baby, and I have done some form of cosleeping with each of my kids. My first I had a bassinet and pack and play right next to my bed, and eventually baby ended up in bed with me. My second I used an arms reach cosleeper which I really liked, but she outgrew the recommended size faster than I wanted even though she's a small baby. For this baby I want to have some sort of attached cosleeper, but not the arms reach and not a full crib as a side car. I'm thinking of side carring a mini crib this time. Any of you ladies have suggestions? Extra points for pictures of your setup!

Do you have instagram? Check out @burtsbrisplease if you do; she's an instagram blogger. I'm not sure if she still has the link up but she made the cutest side car for her son  <3 For a while the link for instructions to build was in her bio.

I was thinking about doing one, but our bed is already pretty low to the ground so I might just get a Moses basket for the first few months.

I just looked on her bio though and looks like she took the side car link down  :/ I'm sure you could find a similar one searching Google/Pinterest for a DIY.
  • I used arms reach also and I really like it even though as you said it's not huge. I ended up having a small crib in my room I used after the arms reach and before I moved her into her room. Though most nights she just ended up in my bed.
  • I used a bassinet right next to the bed and then plopped him in the bed at 6 months lol because no one was getting sleep! we used safe bed sharing precautions. I always said I would NEVER do that, but when you have a baby that doesn't sleep you do what you do to function! I've thought about a dock a tot for this one. Anyone used that?
  • I am on #4 and all my kids just end up sleeping in bed with us. So not bothering with a side car this time. Just a side rail for when they start getting mobile.
  • @jessieR358 I am definitely getting the Dock a tot. I don't know anyone that has used it but I've researched it a ton and am totally sold
  • I've heard great reviews on the Dock a Tot--there are very similar ones on Etsy for 1/3 the price
  • @jessieR358 @bassoondiva I have been looking at "snuggle me" on amazon.  I can't decide on that or dock a tot but the snuggle me might win

  • Those of you who used arms reach or other co sleepers that your kiddo outgrew too quickly...what do you mean by too quickly? I just want something that gets me through 4-5m and pretty sure I'll have another tiny kiddo.

  • @Texafornian I use so the arms reach co sleeper with mine and they did out grow it by 4-5 months. I personally kept my kids in my room with me until 8-9ish months before they were fully STTN in their own beds in their own rooms.

  • @kristanoah that's why I liked the pnp with bassinet...started in bassinet and then moved to the raised version of the pnp. You can keep them there longer but it's such a bitch to not be able to roll over and nurse!

Is that the one that swivels? I looked at that for DD1 but couldn't justify the cost...

  • I was hoping to try something called the Baby Bay for this round that I found out about after getting an arms reach cosleeper. Sadly it looks like they changed it so it's no longer level with your mattress (which is what I REALLY) want. But it still should last longer than an arms reach. It's super expensive but can be reused a ton of ways (bench, desk, etc).
  • I have friends that use the Halo bassinet, they love it. It IS pretty pricey though.

  • I used this mini portable crib by graco. It was perfect. It folds up just like a pack n play but is much smaller. I could use a standard pillow case as the sheets. It was level with my bed, too, which made it really easy.

    *crazy ttgp MOTN lurker alert*

I have all the minicrib bedding already, as we were fully planning to sidecar a minicrib, which converts to toddler bed/ twin later on.  There are lots of tips online for how to do this safely.

@BabyWishing. I love that idea for MiLs house, or for working in the home office.  Looks like it takes up way less space than a PnP type, and safer than the RnPs for actual sleeping.

Eta Sorry if my posting here offends anyone.  I know I don't go here, I just have a touch of insomnia apparently so... bumping, obv. ❤
