Role Call

So I was thinking about our board and how much it has changed since the beginning. I thought maybe everyone who is still here, back, or maybe new could do an intro again. I know I was gone and came back and while I recognize a lot of names I don't recognize everyone.

I was also thinking about trying to get the pinned threads un-pinned and maybe starting a weekly randoms thread.

  • @kvruns I got a BOB too! I cannot wait to get out with it. I wish it was warm enough to at least walk with the baby and dog but in Wisconsin that won't be for a while.

Yes! It's my maiden name so I knew I wanted to use it but only for a daughter. I tried to use it for my first girl but the hubs wanted to have a traditional girl name so Natalie won out. Luckily I got to use it though for #2!
  • @camcbeth my H and I are high school sweethearts too!

I'm with everyone that there is no time for hobbies anymore. Netflix, Hulu, and Playstion Vue is my life right now. Can't wait until the baby is older and can start doing fun things together.

  • Hi ladies!

My husband and I are both in our early 30s. We have a 3 year old boy and November baby girl.

I love to travel, read, take photos, watching documentaries/Netflix and go hiking. I used to teach and now I'm home with my littles - plan on staying home until they're both in school.

    I'm Canadian.
  • @anne11716 haha those teacher dreams! More like nightmares of everything that can go wrong. I can't tell you how many I've had over the years.

I forgot to mention we live in Seattle, WA. We recently moved here after living in Boulder, Colorado where my husband lived his whole life.
  • I'm Stephanie! I'm 31 and DH is 34. Evelyn was born 11/3 and she's is our second daughter (Lydia is 4).

I'm a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse at a local children's hospital and as much as I love my job, I am so thankful to only have to work part time! Seeing what I see can often skew my view of reality, but working half-time gives me to opportunity to leave work at work and more fully enjoy this season of young motherhood.

My husband is a Police Officer and we are praying this is his last year of night shift! It's hard to juggle two children, working and keeping a house with a partner who works crazy hours and is tired all the time. I'm just thankful he is so committed to us and he does do his best!

My hobbies right now mostly involve snuggling babies, watching Netflix and counting down the dwindling days until I have to go back to work (so soon!!).

We had our first baby on November 26th after 2 years of trying. Ended up doing IVF due to my pcos. We love binge watch shows, eat and go to concerts. We hope to have another baby naturally so we are letting things ride!

Been following the thread from my phone but waited til I could type from my laptop!
I'm Teresa, 27, Indianapolis, married since September 2012. We had Elena on November 23, four days early. Fun labor story—my coworker and I took my mentee (is that a word? i've got the red squiggle) on a college campus tour of Purdue on 11/22, and spent all afternoon on walking tours. Sure enough, we dropped her off at home around 5:30 p.m. and my water broke in the car! Contractions came strong and fast as we drove back to our office. Coworker didn't want me to drive home but I did :| Called the on-call doctor and she ordered us to the hospital ASAP. Didn't even have our bag packed yet. Elena made her appearance at 1:50 the following afternoon—after I was so sure she'd be late. :)

I'm currently on a Grey's Anatomy binge. I started the show a few days after we got home from the hospital, and I'm now about a third of the way through season 9. I obviously love TV. I like playing soccer. I'm an avid Body Pump-er. I've got a huge sweet tooth!
  • I'm binge watching Grey's too @hoosiermama! DH has asked me to stop because he can't stand listening to it.

  • Hi, I'm Jennifer. H and I are both 28. Baby boy was born October 30th. We have to older sons 10 and 8. We too are high school sweethearts. We live in Florida.

I went back to work 2 weeks ago and let me tell you ladies it's been difficult. My two older boys are in school and go to aftercare but I have the baby with a family member which gives me peace of mind while I'm at work. My days consist of me waking up early getting kids ready for school and sitter then getting my self dress, packing up the car, dropping off the older ones then driving to sitter house then to work. That takes about an hour and a half. I work for a college in a oral surgery office so as soon as I get in its non stop. I am pumping at work. Then run out of the office to pick up all the kids, go home and cook then bed time routines and packing for the next day. My hubby works a later shift so he doesn't get home till older ones are sleeping. I really thinking about cutting my hours at work at least until LO is a little older.
  • Hi, I'm Linnea. I'm 29, H is 35. We had our first baby on October 31st (EDD was Nov 4th). We live in Paris (H is French, DS is lucky enough to have dual French-US citizenship)

i was more active here in the beginning of the pregnancy, but kind of disappeared for a while. I'm back now (but often just lurking)

Hi everyone! I'm Kay and I live in Atlanta. DH and I have been married for almost nine years and we have 2 LOs. I'm currently just focused on soaking of what's left of maternity leave before I go back to work on 2/13.  I downloaded some books that I wanted to read over these last 12 weeks but not surprisingly that never happened!
  • @hoosiermama I've been in France for 5 years now. Long enough for it to just seem "normal". I like living here, but plan on moving back to the US in the next few years.

  • I'm Jennifer and I live in WA. DH and I are both 32 and we've been married nine years. E is our first child (second pregnancy), born four weeks early on October 26. Since I'm a first time mom I expected to be waiting at the end of Nov for her still, so I was in total denial that my labor was actually labor (didn't help it was all in my back) and only went to the hospital when the doula insisted, where they quickly discovered she was crowning! If we'd waited any longer I may have had her at home, so I'm glad the doula was there to push me (and DH) out the door.

I went back to work last week (Sr. Admin at a nonprofit) and though it's hard not being with her all the time, I am enjoying having a real routine again. E's in daycare and of course picked up a cold her first week. So far it's just a runny nose, no fever or anything, and it seems to be improving so we're hoping her little body is doing a good job at fighting it off. I have never had enough of a supply so I'm pumping at work, but also sending her with formula. I like to think that my body's ability to create antibodies to her sick are helping her fight this cold, even if only about half her nutrition comes from me.

I love to run and can't wait until spring when I can get out there. We have a Thule jogger so we can take her out with us. I have exercise-induced asthma and can't breath if it's below 50 F outside, so I probably won't be able to get out until April/May (which is when she'd old enough for the stroller anyway). We bought a stationary bike shortly before E made her appearance, but I haven't gotten the hang of it yet. Also into yoga, but never seem to have time to do much.

I'm a big reader and joined a local mom's book club that is just starting in my area to force me to read at least one book a month. I am a big fan of "real" books, but found that there's an advantage to ebooks when I'm breastfeeding because I can read them on my phone and flip the pages with one hand.
  • I'm Elyse and live in Orlando. I'm 30 and my DH is 37. My first son will be 2 at the end of February and my second DS was born on my birthday nov 19, even though I tried so hard to avoid that! I'm finally starting to get the hang of this 2 under 2 thing and will be headed back to work in about a month. Hopefully my babysitter will survive, she's amazing so I'm sure she'll be fine. I'm an optometrist and in my free time I like to binge on reality tv, horrible I know. I've fallen victim to allowing myself to be consumed by just being a mom and working, so this year my resolution is to take some me time and develop some more hobbies and maybe even take a vacay if I can convince DH to leave the kiddos
  • Hi everyone! My name is Yelena, I'm 28 and DH is 32. We've been married 3 years and together almost 12. We live in Phoenix, and our LO Gabriel is 9 weeks old, born on 11/19! I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist and currently work full-time as a clinical manager in a community mental health agency and do some private practice on the side. I'm going back to work in the next 3 weeks and DH will be home with our boy for a couple of weeks.

I've been lurking the past couple of months, but am hoping to be more active. Hubby is in school full time online which has been a bit challenging with having a newborn but we're powering through. There's been some family drama, unsurprisingly, as my mom has virtually bailed on me to help watch LO when we go back to work, which I had not really expected. My dad and stepmom have stepped up, though, so that's a relief.

My best friend just had her baby last week, also a boy; we're excited to experience motherhood together and hoping our boys are going to be best friends!

I love photography and am trying to build up my skillset as a hobby! Over maternity leave, I've re-binge watched Gilmore Girls and Parenthood, which was amazing. Now I'm watching The Good Wife for the first time - highly recommend!

hjmommaplus1 I go back on 2/13 also!! Same with the books - my eyes glaze over and I pass out before I finish the page. Which ones are you still hoping to read?
  • @lenacoilbov- The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and Nice Girls Don't get the Corner Office. Since they're more motivational/self-help books, I thought it'd read them to hit the  ground running when I return to work. Oh well!
  • I just saw this. I'm Brandi, and I just turned 32. DH is 34. We just had our second daughter, Aubrey on November 21st. Big sister will be 4 in March. This was my third pregnancy as I found out I had a MMC last January at 12 weeks. We got pregnant my first cycle after with our rainbow baby.

I teach elementary kids. I love to read and also like to cook and bake. I really used to enjoy hosting different get togethers at our house, but since having kids, the only things I seem to host anymore are kid birthday parties. Oh, and DH got me crotchet stuff for Christmas, so I guess that's kind of a new hobby. I've only found time to make two little coasters so far.

Hi all!! My name is Lorryn, I am from Long Island NY.  I am 27 and my DH is 37, our little guy was born on November 28th. He is our first baby. I am looking forward to connecting with other moms who have babies the same age.
I work at an Animal Hospital as a dog groomer. I am going back to work this Saturday, but luckily only one day a week for now. I have been trying to get back into an exercise routine but haven't been totally consistent. LO is very gassy but I think we have
