It's night time here in Korea. I'm laying in bed mobile bumping and I swear I hear my upstairs neighbor snoring. I admit I do have amazing hearing but it makes me wonder what he hears...
@lulu1180@JulesDP ughhhh right there with you ladies. I am sitting in my recliner, comfy blanket and my computer trying to do work and my eyelids are so heavy. I just want to sleep.
@slaven When I lived in an apartment when I was single I had a gay couple living next door (in a studio, which just baffled me because it's not enough room for two people). I heard them having sex every Saturday morning. Our beds were both against the same wall. The trade-off was one of them was an opera singer so I got a nice concert in the shower most mornings.
It's crappy and rainy here too. But, I started taking melatonin and I slept pretty well last night, and the night before. I don't know why I resisted it for so long because I'm a crappy sleeper. I hope the effects don't wear off with prolonged use.

Good morning from Hawaii! We're going to a character breakfast this morning and I'm psyched! My girls are gonna get to see Minnie and Mickey! I feel all of you on being tired, my H woke all of us up at 4am on his way out the door to the gym.
@heatherdubrow Oooo fun! Let us know how the girls like it! You're going to have some adorable pictures from that. Why is DH working out at 4am on vacation, I need that kind of motivation.
@peregrine Are you guys going to paint yourselves or hire someone? I actually love painting nights with DH. We open a bottle of wine and try not to fall off ladders. Good times.

@Peregrine I had so much fun picking out colors for the living and dining rooms when DH and I bought our house! It's also a good excuse to buy more decorations for the house lol

I'm the painter here, so it'll be me. I'm voting a darker cream for living room since it's typically dark, so can't paint really dark colors. Then no clue on anything else.
oh man, painting is my least favorite thing in the world. It's seriously my least favorite part of moving/decorating a room.
I hate the physical act of painting. I don't know why, but I loathe it. But H won't pay for someone else to do it and insists I help. So he does the main walls, then I do a crappy job with the edging. Then I stare at my crappy job and get annoyed that it doesn't look better.
My H also is super picky about colors and wants to have a say in the colors. But he can't stand to look at paint colors for more than a couple minutes. Oh and he's completely colorblind. So the color he sees is not the color others see. But he still wants something that's pleasing to him.

OMG @Tennis11785 That would make me hate painting too! Thankfully DH doesn't mind doing it and he has friends that can help him (one of which is really great at painting btw). I basically told him the colors I wanted after much inner debate and even though he was a little unsure about one of the colors, he went ahead with it. The color turned out amazing though! It's a deeper red in our living room and it goes sooooooo well with the woodwork and fireplace there.

@eggplantface We never hear people having sex, maybe once but that's it. Either they're really quiet or they aren't TTC. It's another soldier but I'm not even sure he's here with family so he could just be snoring up there alone, listening to us DTD every other day. Also I've been sleeping like shit but it's because of my new rescue dog waking up to pee at 3 am when she does out at 10/10:30. She's on medicine right now that makes her drink more and I think it's a side effect of her heart worms so I can't blame her but I need to sleep all night.
@Peregrine@lulu1180 We're moving in May and I really want to buy a house mostly so that we can decorate but military life says we should rent unless we do a fixer upper for profit (which would totally satisfy my home design addiction)

@bluejeanbabi05 it was so fun and seriously cute! The girls loved hugging Minnie and the food was good! yea my DH and I do vacations really differently, he is a machine.
im laughing at your implantation bleed story because it's totally something that would happen to me!
I just found out I might be able to get doula training this summer. There are various grants for military spouses to help them get certifications/training for jobs that they can do anywhere as they move around with their soldier. I had looked into it but most of them are medical related or just stuff I'm not interested in but I found out today at our next duty station they're planning a doula training which is exciting. I may not actually do it as a job but it would be great to have the information for myself.
Question for the group: does anyone journal? I've been considering it, just looking for another outlet for TTC frustrations.... Just wondering if it helps at all.
@hartmich I journal off and on. Usually "on" when I'm having a tough time. Things that have helped me w/ journaling: Don't pressure yourself to do it everyday, just do it when you feel like you need it, it doesn't necessarily have to be written, if you're a typer you can do a typed document (can even password protect it if you like). You don't have to worry about spelling, grammar (unless that is something really important to you.), but sometimes it can take away from expressing what you need to express. I typically don't go back and read what I've written, the goal for me is to just get it out. sometimes, rereading it depends on the hand writing, if i know it was a particularly bad day (based on the hand writing) I've avoided reading it back. I think anything that can give you a healthy outlet for your thoughts/feelings is worth a try. If you don't like it, then you can move on to something else.
***TW I have a friend that used a journal while TTC and then throughout her first pregnancy and loss and then again through her second pregnancy. She said it is something she may share with her daughter when the daughter is older. She said she would never just give it to her daughter to read, but that she would have some of her own experience to reflect back on when her daughter is older and possibly asking about my friend and her experiences TTC. So I'm a total history nerd, and on Tuesdays I have time after school to clean up my classroom so I sometimes watch history documentaries on Netflix. My custodian has come in so many times pretty much as they're saying 'Hitler,' he definitely thinks I'm a weirdo now.
Also, is it okay that I'm sticking around this board even though I'm pretty much benched for the foreseeable future? I just know what a furor drive-bys and inappropriate posters can create and I don't want to be one of them...

@hartmich I bought a 5-year journal. So I don't write in it everyday, but almost everyday and I write down my feelings for that day. It's interesting to look back at accomplishments, feelings, let-downs, and just seeing how much you've grown in the last years and how things have changed.
@jsnakehole You're absolutely welcome to stick around! You are neither a drive-by nor an inappropriate poster. You're benched and we have plenty of people in similar situations that hang out here.

@jsnakehole - Of course you're welcome. Feel free to join the Benched/TTA thread while you're benched if you feel like doing so. I know it can suck not having a regular check in where you feel you "belong" while you're not able to TTC.

I have! It took a few weeks for me to make my first sale, but I've made about $250 so far. I found that following tons of people and sharing my listings to the 'parties' helped me make sales.

Me: 28 | DH: 33 EDD: March 24, 2018 - angel baby at 21 weeks
@hartmich - I talked about it before, but I do an "undone" bullet journal. Every day, I write down my to do list and everything I feel like I need to write. It's good because it doesn't have to be all "Dear Diary" and it can be useful for things outside of TTC emotions. You'll be surprised how when you start writing anything (even grocery lists) you can find yourself expelling emotions. Here's an example page on a day I had a BFN. ETA: Spoiler box for pic because that was too big.
@heatherdubrow - Isn't it so pretty! I do not have the skills, dedication, or penmanship to do one justice. So instead, I just stick with colored pens and scribbles. But I love it all the same
