How big is baby? Mango, Sunglasses, Gameboy or a Four-toed Hedgehog!
Appointment updates? Had my anatomy scan last Thursday. It went really well. They were able to see everything they needed and it was all normal. Also found out we're having a little boy!
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really. Just getting bigger.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Our parents didn't like the idea of a small, modern, coed baby shower that we wanted and my sisters were going to plan. So we finally decided to just give them what they want with a traditional one to cause less headaches. I also have the registry pretty much done though I'm sure I'll go back and update it a bunch. We have the nursery room cleaned out and ready to add stuff to!
GTKY: How did you meet your SO? We met in 5th grade at a summer gifted program. We were both in the drama class and were chosen for the parts of Betsy and John Ross in one of the skits. We "dated" off and on in middle school and became best friends in high school. Senior year we started seriously dating and have been together ever since.
How big is baby? Banana - "This shit is bananas.. b.a.n.a.n.a.s"
Appointment updates? Had my anatomy scan this morning. It was so awesome to see the little dude! So far, everything looked good, but he wasn't cooperating fully, and need to go back in a couple weeks so they can see the spine better. It was amazing to see how big the placenta is, and it's anterior, so no wonder i'm not feeling his little kicks yet!
Any new symptoms or changes? Heartburn showed up this past week. Helloo!!!!!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Why is daycare so GD expensive and competitive?!?! Seriously child care will be more than our mortgage, and places are booked a year out!!! How do people afford more than one child!
GTKY: How did you meet your SO? 3 years ago, my first husband died in a car accident. Being in my early 30's, I literally knew no young widowed people. I found a support website, and became friends with a few people, including my now husband. His wife had died of cancer around the same time and supported each other through some rough stuff. Well... things led one to another, we became more than friends, I sold my home and moved to his town, we got married, and we are having a baby! I feel so blessed to have two great loves. My husband is truly an amazing man, and I have never been happier in my life.
Also I agree with the rant on daycare. DH and I are still discussing whether or not I should be a SAHM for a couple years rather than paying for it. It's not a fun discussion.

Appointment updates? This Thursday is the big ultrasound.
Any new symptoms or changes? Just getting gradually more uncomfortable, especially while trying to sleep. I did get a prenatal massage this weekend which helped a lot.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Blown away at how fast this pregnancy seems to be going when compared to my first. Which on the flip side makes me have some internal panic that I am not nearly as prepared for this baby in terms of a nursery.
GTKY: How did you meet your SO? At a networking event for the construction industry. My company sponsored and I was at the front door handing out nametags. There was some friendly banter and we ended up connecting a few other times at the event. One thing led to another and I gave him my number, which he then lost, and had to track down my email address to contact me.

DS #1: 3/8/15Since we are house hunting I am dreading the thought of possibly having to put together a nursery at our rental - so I haven't. We have been really bad cleaners lately too because I feel like we are both "over" renting. Hopefully nesting kicks in for me as soon as we move!

Our a/s is next Monday, I'm nervous but excited to find out the sex.

Nothing new really. Still feeling occasional movements. Still having a hard time getting comfy at night.

Match.com the summer before our senior year of college. I was dating a bunch of guys just to have fun but after I met DH, I kind of knew that this was it. Our first date we just talked for 3 hours. We couldn't get enough of each other after that.

I just got home from my a/s and everything with the baby looks great but my placenta is low so they put me on pelvic rest (well my regular doctor did but my high risk doctor said it was nothing because it can take until week 28 to move)
Any new symptoms or changes?
I have such bad heart burn and the worst body aches which I was told would only get worse.

we were working at McDonalds together when I was in high school.

i also have a low lying placenta and am on pelvic rest. I had a placenta previa with my first pregnancy too. I get ultrasounds every 4 weeks now to check and if there's any bleeding I have to call the dr. I didn't have any issues with my first pregnancy so praying I don't have any this time too.

Well, I had my anatomy scan on Tuesday, where I got less than ideal results (posted in anatomy scan thread), so I have an appointment scheduled with the high risk doctor on Tuesday 01/31 and I still need to figure out if this affects my already scheduled regular OB appointment on Friday 02/03?

I have a love/hate relationship with the ultrasound technology improvements that have taken place over the past decade. I am so thankful that they are able to find so many issues and take care of them before baby is born, but i am so frustrated by them being able to see every little detail and cause so much anxiety/stress for pregnant women for potentially no reason at all!

We actually are high school sweethearts! We met in middle school when he transferred to my school and started dating right around the time of our 15th birthdays (our birthdays are 9 days apart and our birthday celebrations are kind of what sparked the whole thing). We will have been together 11 years this fall!
