I went for my first blood test since finding out that I'm pregnant last Thursday. I was 5+3 at the time (possibly a little less since I've never had normal cycles and don't know exactly when I ovulated) and my levels came back at only 1157. I know that it's stupid to compare levels because every pregnancy is different but I'm worried that this is too low and that something might be wrong but my doctor won't see me until our scheduled appointment next Sunday (January 29). Looking for some words of comfort to help me relax.

Re: HCG too low?
But you're right, every pregnancy is different. Look up betabase.com to see the range of normal numbers.

Assuming I correctly calculated my ovulation, my HCG levels were similar to those on betabase. Thanks @Sugargirl1019.

you should ask for a second draw @sck2411. I thought the point of checking hCG was to make sure it was doubling within 48 hours. So I would ask for a second draw to compare and also very your progesterone level at that draw if they didn't at your first. I think 1157 seems like it's within the ok range for 5+3 but seems like a tad on the low end of the scale if your dates are right. Good luck!
I'm going back to the doctor this Sunday for my first ultrasound and a follow up appointment. Hopefully he'll check again.

However, I know from temping I ovulated on CD17, almost 3 days later. With HCG doubling every 48hrs, it makes total sense that mine are half of everyone else's.
This is why Betabase.com shows DPO (days past ovulation) instead of #w#d from LMP.
