September 2017 Moms

No/Very Few Symptoms?

Hi ladies!
I'm 6.3 weeks (Yay! but Eek!) and have very few pregnancy symptoms so far. The only thing two things I've noticed are that I am more tired during the day and that my breasts are fuller and a bit tender (but even the tenderness comes and goes). Other than that, I haven't had any nausea yet, aversion to smells, etc.
I know it's still quite early and I may be kicking myself for posting this in a few weeks if the morning sickness kicks in, but just wondering if anyone else is feeling great? (Also: Congrats to all the September mommas out there! )

Re: No/Very Few Symptoms?

  • I like that when I was pregnant with my son now with this pregnancy I'm tired and nauseous off and on.

  • There is a symptoms thread that goes up weekly, if you check it out you will see that a lot of women are not having many symptoms either.
  • With my daughter I didn't have a lot of symptoms and had just the best pregnancy. With current baby, I feel completely different. So fatigued and nauseous and a million other things. I spent all week just wishing for one good day! Then I had a great day today absent of most symptoms and got super paranoid that something was wrong. I think everything is fine. I just overthink everything.

Enjoy your symptom free days! I hope they stay that way for you :)
  • I am like you with almost no symptoms but I have sore breasts and feel a little tired. I have two older children and with both of those pregnancies I had really bad morning sickness so I was fully expecting to be sick this time too. I keep thinking it's coming but I feel great. I guess every pregnancy really is different from the last!

  • Yes, I checked that out and it's good to know that it's normal. Thanks!
  • In 6 weeks today and have the same symptoms. With my previous pregnancy, that was also all I ever had. Every woman is different, every pregnancy is different.
  • I'm 2 days shy of 6 weeks and feeling pretty normal other than a little tired and sore boobs. With my DD I never got morning sickness.  I occasionally felt slightly nauseous if I let myself get too hungry. I keep wondering if I'll feel sick this time around and if so, when it will rear it's ugly head....
  • It must be a bit weird for women who are not experiencing many (or any) pronounced symptoms to see all the posts about how terribly sick people are feeling...

I have two friends who said that they didn't have any first trimester symptoms (or at least, not nausea, which is the main thing people talk about, especially non-pregnant people).  Since they were the only two people I had really talked to about pregnancy symptoms, I hardly knew that there could be so many unpleasant symptoms!  I've had many of them, but they come and go, it seems.  I can't imagine what it must be like for women who throw up around the clock.  But I think that's a bit rare in the opposite direction!

It's odd to have the most unpleasant symptoms during the trimester when we traditionally don't disclose our pregnancy.  It's like we're suffering in silence/secret!  I'm really looking forward to late February i.e. the second trimester, FX.
  • I am so looking forward to the second trimester as well!
  • I am 8 weeks, 2 days.  I've really had very few symptoms, which has been somewhat worry some, as this is my 3rd pregnancy with 2 prior losses.  I've not felt nauseas, just a little "meh" after I eat sometimes.  I did have tender breasts, but I don't notice it as much these last 2 weeks.  I have had some intermittent round ligament pain, when I get up out of the lazy boy.  I had an appointment at 6 weeks, 6 days, and there was my little bugger with a 129 heart beat!
  • im feeling paranoid like maybe this pregnancy is over for me. my breasts a little less tender... idk if this is real or PTSD from a miscarriage... i could cry right now.
  • @pritha00 I'm sorry you're struggling. Have you been to a doctor yet? The checkup should reassure you that everything is alright. As other ladies have said here and on other threads, symptoms can come and go as your hormones fluctuate. Hugs!

I'm so sorry-- I know exactly how you feel (keep pinching my boobs to test soreness after a not so great ultrasound). Do your best to stay present and focus on that you don't have an answer right now, so you could very well be fine (and more than likely will be). Everyone who has written they don't have symptoms consider themselves lucky, we are cursed because we have such trauma from before but fluctuating symptoms are COMPLETELY normal! I'm thinking of you and crossing my fingers.
  • @pritha00 I would try not to worry too too much. I've been there before because I am also PGAL but symptoms are subject to change on a weekly or even daily basis. My breasts were extremely sore in the beginning and now they're barely sore at all. My doctor just said it is the fluctuating hormones.

    When is your ultrasound?
  • This is me too. My only consistent symptom with DS was sore breasts. I never had morning sickness, bloating, etc. This time around it seems what few symptoms I have come and go and vary in intensity from day to day.

With my last pregnancy (that ended in a miscarriage), I had lingering sore breasts for almost a week after the miscarriage was complete. I don't think that's necessarily a reliable indicator of the health of your pregnancy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for those with concerns!

  • 6+1 today, last week I had a whole bunch of symptoms but not nausea and this week all I have is sore boobs and fatigue. I completely understand the worry... Just trying to get through the week til Sunday when I am scheduled to have my first ultrasound.

Msashley2010 thank you for saying this. I'm crying at work bc i'm feeling like this pregnancy is over for me. ***TW*** When i had my miscarriage i had some symptoms that then went away, and lo and behold so did my baby. I'm feeling this exact way now too. i'll hold on to your words as hope- though my own hope is very quickly disappearing.
    My appt is on Thursday.
  • You need to stay positive until you see your doctor or if you are that concerned then call and get seen ASAP to ease your mind.  Every pregnancy is different and it does not help to think negatively.
  • Just wanted to touch base with those of you who also had very few symptoms earlier on in this pregnancy. Have you started to experience any symptoms yet?

I still only have sore breasts and am often tired, but other than that, I'm feeling pretty good! This had me worried at first, but I had my 8 week ultrasound today, and it showed a healthy baby with a strong heartbeat. *phew!* Such a relief! :)
  • I wasn't having any symptoms until a few days ago. @chrisgilmore now I'm having every symptom in the book

Thanks for the update! Hope you're feeling ok. I guess you never know when the symptoms can kick in.  :#
  • Still not much at 8 weeks! Some waves of nausea in some evening s but they usually pass as I fall asleep at 8:30. :p The fatigue is the only one that I really notice.

  • One verse that has really helped me through fluctuating symptoms is Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

    And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths

To me this verse helps remind me that worrying will not get me anywhere and God has a plan for my baby and myself. It is a lot easier said than done but letting go of my concerns and giving it to God helps me get through.
  • With my first pregnancy I literally had no symptoms. I was a bit more tired, but I was always tired even before I got pregnant so it wasn't unusual. It worried me that something was wrong because I wasn't having symptoms. I ended up having a very easy pregnancy and a happy and healthy baby girl.
  • Well I'm a little jealous of this no symptom thread!

Haha sorry! That's why I started a separate thread from the 'Weekly Symptoms' one... I didn't want anyone to think we were complaining about not having morning sickness!  :#

It's great not to have pregnancy symptoms, but it makes having a successful ultrasound that much more reassuring, as it confirms that the little babe is doing well in there! :)
