This is my first pregnancy, so this is all new to me.
I went to the ED at I think 5 weeks 5 days (it is physiologically impossible for me to be later in my pregnancy - husband wasn't home before then - but earlier along could be true). I had LLQ sharp pain intermittently, and some brown spotting. They did an ultrasound, which showed one intrauterine gestational sac and one yolk sac. No ectopic! My beta came back at ~18,000! It was my only beta draw, so not sure how it has progressed, but I was so surprised it seemed so high. It worried me that no fetal pole was seen with betas that high, but it was a quick scan to rule out ectopic. The ED doc seemed pleased with what he saw. I still am worried!
What are your thoughts? Twins? Should there have been a heartbeat?!
Update: went in for a scan today, and a baby was seen! There was a heartbeat of ~120bpm, and they measured me at 6w1d. I was only 5w1d at the last ultrasound, so I guess I was right on track.
