LO has been doing this thing when BFing where she'll suck and then pull off and look at me and smile. She does it over and over again. It drives me crazy because I need her to finish her feeding and be done. I guess she's at a point where she can get distracted easily but I can't take my head off because it seems like it's me that's distracting her. So I've been trying not even look at her while she does it hoping that'll help but that doesn't seem to be helping.
@Ladybug2821 I have the same problem feeding Johnny, but he gets formula in a bottle. Either way, same distraction scenario. Once he is to a point where he has had a bit and isn't starving anymore, he wants to stare at me and smile a play around. It's just a phase I guess
Some of you may recall that I've had to switch to a dairy-free diet because we suspect that my LO has a dairy allergy. Well, now I have a freezer stash of breast milk that I can't use to feed my baby (because it was pumped when I was still consuming dairy.) So I contacted a mother's milk bank today and I'm on my way to becoming a breast milk donor! I'm really excited about this decision and I just wanted to share!
@Ladybug2821@AllyTheKid Vada does the same thing. I've been trying the look away method, but sometimes she's too darn cute with that gummy grin to not look at.
My random: we're battling her first ear infection and cold right now. I got ear infections a lot as s kid so I sort of expected this to be in her future but I was hoping to avoid it for a while.
So I called my advisor to withdraw from my classes yesterday. My advisor was pissed that my appeal was rejected, twice, so she called the Director of the committee and somehow talked her into letting me appeal again. I had a very busy day acquiring documentation from the hospital over my early induction and Johnny's NICU stay and health conditions. Fingers crossed they drop this suspension this time!
I'm having the same issue with Grayson where he gets super distracted during feedings and continually unlatches and relatches. Although I think part of his issue is he's still fighting congestion from his cold (going on a month now) so sometimes I think he can't breathe that well.
i hope your appeal works out @AllyTheKid! 2 weeks into my 2nd semester of law school I got really sick and ended up in the ICU. I missed weeks of class and had to withdraw. My school didn't have any kind of medical withdrawal policies so even though all of my financial aid was taken back because I didn't finish the semester the school wanted me to pay for the entire semester out of pocket before letting me return. It took many months but i eventually got them to change their policy, it was so crazy!
Feeding time may be a hassle, but I love how much more alert and aware he's getting now... everything seems so much more worthwhile now that he isn't an eat/sleep/poop machine. He's my little buddy now, he wants to watch what I do, and roll around and try to move on his own, and it is such an amazing age and stage ♡
@LGW2015 It appears my school doesn't have any policies either- and it isn't so much the school itself, they are just trying to follow the rules and standards set by financial aid. Usually deaths and ceitical illness are the only exception, but it doesn't outline critical illness of children, spouses, or maternity related illnesses or complications, so I think that needs to be looked into. If my appeal is rejected again, my next step is attempting policy reform. I really hate that I have to write letters and can't physically speak to the committee. I also hate that the committee is entirely comprised of women, and they seem to have no compassion for a situation that could possibly (god forbid) affect them, or their daughters or loved women one day... it is very frustrating.
So I asked my LC about LO pulling off and going on so much and she said it most likely has to do with her reflux. I'm not so sure because I feel like she only does this on the right side. But she said since I can hand express that she is able to get milk (I was worried maybe my supply was dropping on that side). Guess I will have to have the dr increase her Zantac and see how that helps. She said her current rx is actually pretty low for her current weight.
Someone posts a pic of their babe first and then says something like show me a baby sleeping. Then someone posts a pic of their LO sleeping and then they say show me a baby....and it just goes on and on. I've seen it on other BMB's and its cute seeing all the babes doing different things.
Awe, cute idea! I've been playing the Three Word Story game on TTGP, (even though we're just babies on the brain right now), that would be a fun thread to start here too I think! Any thoughts?
It's fun! It starts put with three words, then somebody else posts three words, and we all kind of go off of what each other are posting to come up with a story with only only three words per post

@jek2016 It's impossible to not smile back isn't it? Haha
And fertilized!
