This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say, and treat this like an ongoing conversation.

Diagnosis (If you've been): endometriosis

How are things going? Well since my laproscopy my cycles are even longer. I don't ovulate until day 20 so the waiting game is just getting longer. I'm hoping to switch doctors in a couple months because I don't think mine knows how to do anything other than treat endo. I feel like I'm a ticking time bomb until the endo gets bad again.
Any questions? Not right now
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? My dog or a box of wine
@leekat14 I know it may not help, but my twin had SEVERE endometriosis and PCOS and a tilted uterus and ITP and something else and still went on to have two kids. Her second was conceived by IUI and she did have two losses in between along with some surgeries to remove scar tissue, but it is totally possible with the right doctors and treatment plan. I am crossing my fingers so hard for you.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@leekat14 sorry you're having a rough time! Have you seen a RE yet? I'm glad you decided to post!
Diagnosis (If you've been): PCOS (non insulin resistant), and MFI

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?)
gearing up for a FET. I posted a picture of all my meds yesterday in WTO. I'm excited to get started, doing lupron injections next Tuesday (while we are in Hawaii!) then going from there.
How are things going? Pretty good, haven't started the real meds so not feeling awful yet.
Any questions?

How are things going? Ok, I O'd early this cycle, but we are making progress with the weaning, so we should be a go for IUI next cycle!
Any questions? nope
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? snuggling with DH and the animals, binge watching something brainless or going for a long walk if the weather is nice.
@leekat14 you are welcome here anytime. I'm sorry your feeling like your in limbo. I forget have you been to an RE yet? hugs @heatherdubrow so exciting the meds start soon. Have fun on the trip?

I do have a question posted below about the SA if anyone has experience!
Diagnosis (If you've been): Testing/possible PCOS
Cycle/CD: 7/26
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW ?
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Testing starts CD3, and then more right after that
How are things going? Pretty good. It's been really nice not tracking and obsessing. I would always get so anxious around O time because it felt like it took FOREVER to get here, but I'd be worried we'd miss it if it came early and so on and so forth. It was nice to just not care.
Any questions? So I finally got H's SA scheduled. The first place I tried to schedule it said he had to abstain for 1-3 days before, no more or less. Their appointment times just didn't work out for us. The place where his appointment is now (my RE actually) says to abstain 3-7 days, no more or less. Why would there be a difference?!
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? My dog and junk food (hence why my jeans are tight today)
@hartmich I think different labs have different preferences, 7 days seem a bit long to me, With the 2 RE's we have seen the recommendation has been 2-4days. So if I were you I would go with 3 days. i'm glad you got his SA scheduled and that taking a break from all things has been nice

TTC 1/2012 Diagnosed : unexplained infertility 6 rounds of IUI and a MC 2/2014, rainbow twins 4/2015 TTC #3 5/2016 Restarted Fertility tx IUI 2 rounds, baby girl 12/17
@wabash15 Yea I guess we'll just go with 3 because that complies with both. I just want to get the most accurate results! Of course his appointment is right after his birthday weekend so no birthday sex for us, I guess!
@hartmich My husby is obsessed with the abstinence rules. He asked very specific questions and my RE was very meh about it. She said for the initial one to try for at least 72 hours but not more than 5 days. So he did exactly 72 hours. We had an iui that the timing got effed up for and his abstinence was only like 18 hours. And his counts were SUPER low. Our RE also always suggests "clearing the lines" at least every 72 hours before the 72 hour abstinence begins.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) IVF freeze all with a FET in late Feb early March
How are things going? Great! I had to reschedule my u/s and b/w for tomorrow because my RE's office didn't realize they had scheduled it on a holiday. So bummed that I have to wait another day to get started but still very excited!
Any questions? Those who have been on Gonal F, did you have any bad side effects? The letrozole gave me bad hot flashes and made me very grumpy so I am dreading moving on to the hard stuff. Even just the BCP has made me very weepy.
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? Food. I am definitely an emotional eater. We recently moved to an area with a lot of asian food so I've been eating a lot of pho, and thai curry and steam buns. Eating definitely makes me feel better.

How are things going? Okay besides crazy dreams about leaving H's SA cup in my car and finding it two days later, or dreams about not getting the cup to the doc within the time frame necessary.
Any questions? Not really, just sort of nervous for the STP Wednesday. They told me 800 mg of Advil before.
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? Snuggling with my three pups, definitely. @hartmich My paperwork for H's SA tomorrow says 2-7 days. So we just made sure to HIO yesterday so he is ready to go for tomorrow morning.

How are things going? Everything is moving along. My meds have been ordered and should arrive by Wednesday or Thursday. We have an appt with the doctor to go over everything on Thursday morning. Sunday will be my last dose of bc.
Any questions?

How are things going? Um, good I guess..I've been really cranky lately about everything. I think me and she just need to get away....
Any questions? Today, on CD 33, I had ewcm again....I'm not temping until I go to day shift because it just would work better and didn't do a medicated cycle this time so not clue if or when I even O'd....not really a question , I guess just more wtf.
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? Little things cheer me up, especially if DH is being thoughtful and does something small and simple for me even if it was remembering something (he never does usually)
@NYTino24 Thanks, I know it's possible, it's just so frustrating that I don't feel like my doctor cares and nothing seems to be happening
@wabash15@hartmich@heatherdubrow during the last laproscopy they checked my fallopian tubes...All clear. It appears that I am ovulating every month. Also H had a SA and that was all clear, although we didn't actually see the report.
@leekat14 if you don't feel like your getting the attention you need from your current provider, I would think about finding someone else. you deserve someone who is responsive to your concerns and frustrations.

I have a call to another provider that is an hour away but I'm on a wait list for March appointments. There's only 1 person locally...Sigh...
@hartmich I agree with @wabash15 that 7 days seems too long and I'd shoot for the 3 (which you've already said you're doing, so that was a pointless agreement, haha). What I wanted to add was that abstaining too long can actually be just as bad as not abstaining long enough. If you hold out too long, those little guys begin to die off throwing off your analysis numbers, and from what I had read, I believe 7 days was the start of too much.
@JuneRoseRuby GL with the SA and STP. FX everything comes back clear for you!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?)
Just hanging out for now. I had blood drawn last week to recheck my thyroid, and H is going for a follow up SA, but we're waiting on O to arrive sometime in the next century so we don't miss a cycle if we don't have to (hey even a 1ish percent chance is better than 0%).
How are things going? Ehh, they're going I guess. We'll see what H's second SA looks like and go from there. If numbers are still down, H is going to a urologist for further testing/treatment to see if we can figure out the cause and possibly fix it. Next cycle I'm doing my HSG, and that's pretty much it for me at the moment.
Any questions? Not currently.
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? It depends on what caused the bad day. If it wasn't H, he's usually pretty good at lifting my spirits. If it was him relaxing with a good book and wine, either in the bathtub or out of it with my dogs, usually does the trick.
Edit: I had the wrong CD (I was looking at yesterday's date-oops!)
@tamalahoops I was on Gonal-f for two cycles. I had zero side effects/affects? God I really hate that lol. Nothing makes you feel as stupid as trying to figure out if you should be using effect or affect! Anyway, I was only on a low dose because I was taking it for IUI and not IVF. I can't remember exactly now but I wanna say I was somewhere between 150iu the first cycle and then the next cycle I was 75iu of Gonal mixed with one vial of Menopur. I know of headaches and site irritation being a factor for some women though. Fx you get none of those!!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Second natural cycle in a row.
How are things going? Amazed my body is giving us another chance to try in between our six failed IUI's and the start of IVF. I joked with my H that we paid our RE to do exactly what my body is finally doing for free. I started a very lax keto diet in November and am down ten pounds. I have no idea if there's any connection but I'm assuming it's not hindering anything. I'm happy my body is doing its thing and I shouldn't complain in the slightest, but it's annoying that it's such a "late" O. I believe I finally got crosshairs in FF last cycle on CD 21. So I'm ovulating five days later than last cycle. Eta: I had two days of + OPK's, this morning being negative again. And EWCM last week which set off alarm bells in my head. I realize this is a total PCOS problem but it's aggravating. And I'm also starting to get worried because when we first started trying in Sep '15, and I came off of BC, I had two normal cycles right off the bat. So now I'm wondering if the medicated cycles acted like BC and I am now having two normal cycles, then my body will go back to never ending, never Oing. I guess all we can do is wait and see. Still waiting for April so our new insurance kicks in and we can start IVF. (If I'm not KU speshul snowflake style).
Any questions? Nah.
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? A really good, unexpected laugh!
@mrsdaddario I have pcos as well(nir) and have found low carb to be incredibly helpful for me in terms of weightloss, and just feeling good. Good luck with your natural cycles!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) unmedicated, pnv's, vitamin d, baby aspirin, coq10, probiotics, gluten and dairy free.
How are things going? Things are going well! I got my protocol overview from my nurse. They wanted consults from my rheumatologist & endocrinologist so those went over to them today. They are just waiting to speak with my hematologist to decided whether or not I need blood thinners for stims or not. If all goes according to plan, I should be starting around Feb 18! i tried logging into FI's insurance plan today to see if the meds are covered but the website was having issues. Hopefully will be able to get that all figured out tomorrow.
Any questions?

GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? DH always does. And sometimes sulking on the couch watching movies.
@hartmich - a little late here, but the reason for the difference is continuity. 2-5 is good enough, but some say 3 exactly because then every follow up SA (if necessary) would be the same. It's just to limit as many contributing factors as possible. Even if you go to the 3-7, try to make sure you always do the same.

@wabash15 Thanks! I posted in WTO, but H and I were super surprised at what little volume he produced today. I have been worried about this in the past so I was sort of glad it happened today because clearly it's happening other times. He doesn't think it is happening all of the time, but I feel like it is more often than not. So I am curious to hear the results of the rest of the composition of his SA and how it combines with the low volume. Time, labs, and doctors will tell! STP tomorrow!

@heatherdubrow Have fun in Hawaii! What a great place to start injections. @hartmich My doctor also said 3-5 days. I think both times we did the SA, we ended up doing 3 days abstinence. @juneroseruby You must be glad to have the SA done now! @leekat14 Sorry to hear your wait is so long to get into the new RE. It seems like there is definitely a shortage of REs... @mrsdaddario Yay for O! I wonder if the meds do regulate you a bit... I know that some people say BC regulates PCOS some so that your chances of getting pregnant are higher immediately after you come off it, but I can't find any well-supported research about that now. The only period I got on my own this year was within 2 months after I came off BC though.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) femara, PNV, baby aspirin
How are things going? I ovulated!! This cycle I went through 3 5-day prescriptions of femara, all the way up to 10mg and on CD 32, I still had no response, and we were cancelling the cycle. Since I don't normally have any cycles on my own and my body wasn't doing anything, the RE said to take a 2-week break and then we could start a new "cycle" with Clomid. Today I went in for a baseline US and BW for my next "cycle", but the BW shows that I most likely ovulated. So now I'm in my first official TWW!! On the downside, I don't know exactly when I ovulated, but I think it must have been within the last week (maybe CD 40-45?) since I had no follicles over 10mm on CD 32. If that's the case, our timing was horrible, but I'm still really excited that I ovulated at all.
Any questions? I don't temp, though I'm going to start now. Is there any way for me to know when I O'ed without temping?

Hello, I'm new to this board and already on the infertility board. I'm trying to figure things out so I'm sorry if this isn't the right place or time for this post!!!
Diagnosis (If you've been): PCOS.... no signs of diabetes and ovulate on my own. In my opinion it's a mild case, the only symptoms she said I had were slightly irregular cycles (most of the time they are 34 days sometimes less sometimes ar little longer) and my follicle count was arrested little high. Which I'm hoping that means I will get quick results with clomid!
Cycle/CD: been ttc for 3yrs 2months, currently on day 22 of my first cycle with my RE
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Clomid 50mg days 2-6
How are things going? On the day of my lh surge (day 15) I had two large follicles (largest one at 30 the other not far behind). She decided not to give the the trigger shot because my levels were at 53 ...the only need to be at 18 for the egg to be released. She sent me home to do "my homework " that night. Unfortunately my husband was sick and we couldn't do anything until day 17. We had bms cycle days 10, 12, 17, 18, & 19. But I'm not sure if we missed our opportunity this month. Blood test on 1/23 with my RE! Fingers crossed!
Any questions?
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? My furbabies. I've got five of them! They're in my picture. Jasmine 6yr old boxer, Desoto 3 yr old doberman, Zero 2 yr old German Shepherd, Arcanine 6 month old German Shepherd/ boxer (Jasmine and zero are the parents lol), and Shiva 18 week old doberman. Lol my husband tells me Jasmine is just like me. She has my personality and it took her 6 years to get pregnant. I had always wanted a bunch of boxers but she just never got pregnant so I thought she couldn't and Tada!! Arcanine and his siblings showed up. Lol sorry for the story
@blackrose this is a perfect place for you to post. we had a member here antoto (I don't want to tag her since she's on a bump break while saving up for IVF) who has PCOS and thought she was ovulating because of temp changes and +OPK's but in fact she was not. Glad you had 2 nice follies and hopefully what you were able to do before DH got sick will be enough.

@JuneRoseRuby GL with the SA and STP. FX everything comes back clear for you!
Diagnosis (If you've been): MFI, borderline hypothyroid.
Cycle/CD: 14/20
Just hanging out for now. I had blood drawn last week to recheck my thyroid, and H is going for a follow up SA, but we're waiting on O to arrive sometime in the next century so we don't miss a cycle if we don't have to (hey even a 1ish percent chance is better than 0%).
Cycle/CD: 16/14 CD 26

Cycle/CD: 11/3 CD 46
femara, PNV, baby aspirin
GTKY: On a bad day what cheers you up? @wabash15 @JuneRoseRuby Similar to you - snuggling with my cats cheers me up a lot on a bad day. Also eating cheers me up while I'm stuffing my face, and then makes me feel worse...
