Re: High Risk Check-in

  • Why are you considered High Risk? My first pregnancy, when I was 28, was a Trisomy 18 baby that did not make it. I had absolutely no risk factors. Second pregnancy was ectopic. Since I seem to have horrible luck, for no particular reason, they like to keep a close eye on me. (Third pregnancy was a perfect little baby boy; fourth pregnancy was an extremely late loss as well, due to other unexplained anomalies.)

How far along are you? 9 weeks 6 days

    How are you feeling?
Off and on nausea  for the past few  weeks and extreme exhaustion

Up coming appointments? Visit with the regular OB on Thursday afternoon.

Questions/ Rants/ Raves. My husband is annoying. He's pissed off because after working a full-time job, driving an hour to get home, trying to get housework done, and wrangle a 2 year old in for dinner, a bath and bed, that I should also be at his beck and call for sex! Excuse me?1 I'm barely hanging on at 9 PM! He knows what the first trimester is like, but this one has been so vastly different than my son, (plus now I have a 2 year old to chase around!) he thinks I should be just as willing to give it up this time.  Ugh, no. Do it yourself, and pray for a better 2nd trimester, pal. This momma is tired!

  • Why are you considered High Risk?
I have been considered infertile for 6 years, therefore had to go to an RE to get pregnant, and I have had 3 bleeding episodes this pregnancy, was convinced I miscarried last week, lots of blood and clots (sorry TMI), but the baby was still in there with its cute heartbeat.

    How far along are you?
    10 weeks 5 days

    How are you feeling?

I have had some nausea, but nothing terrible.  I think I am on the uphill swing as my exhaustion has backed off tremendously.

    Up coming appointments?
I have one this afternoon with my OB, my RE released me on Friday back to my OB, so first official appointment with him!

    Questions/ Rants/ Raves
My husband has been a God send! He won't let me lift a finger and we are in the middle of move so he is packing the entire house, as well as making me dinner and making sure everything gets done!

Oh yeah, I should answer these too.

Why are you considered High Risk?
I have a genetic predisposition to clotting called Factor V Leiden. I'm heterozygous for the genes so I'm 8 times more likely to clot than the average pregnant lady. I did have a DVT  (blood clot in my leg) about ten years ago. I'm self - injecting with lovenox daily, just like my first pregnancy.

    How far along are you?
    7 weeks and 3 days

    How are you feeling?
    Hungry and frequently tired

    Up coming appointments?
Not for another ten days! I did have my first ultrasound a week ago and baby had a good strong heartbeat.

    Questions/ Rants/ Raves.
I'm also NOT in the mood for sex. At all. Husband is frustrated. I'm tired and annoyed. It's the first trimester! What did he expect?
