Infertility

Meal plan?

Has any of your doctors suggested a certain diet? Did they suggest adding/cutting certain foods? I'm not overweight and I stay active, but I do have PCOS and I know that restricting some foods can help. Does anyone have any meal plans or recipes they want to share?

Re: Meal plan?

  • I've done some research and it seems that a lot of the foods that are "good" for fertility/IVF are the ones on the Mediterranean diet, so DH and I are incorporating some of those foods and "idea" into our diet. Basically, just clean foods, whole grains, lean meats, fish, healthy oils, lots of fruits and veggies...stuff like that!

  • One of the REs I talked to was very serious about the diet while on IVF: no diary, no gluten, lots of good protein (eggs, wild fish), acai berry powder, coQ10, vit D and omega-3

I've heard a lot of good things about the Mediterranian diet as well, which is good for me since that's pretty much my normal diet!  I have a friend whose RE suggest gluten free dairy free to decrease inflammation.
    Me: 35  DH: 36
Me: 1, possibly 2, blocked tubes
    DH: severe MFI
    Married and TTC since 2/15
Started stims 7/21/16, ER  8/2 --> 17 eggs, 5 blasts after PGS testing.
    Fresh transfer 8/8/16: Chemical Pregnancy
    FET #1 9/13: PGS tested 5AA, BFN
    Endometrial biopsy 10/18/16: normal result
    ERA test 10/18/16: "receptive" result
FET #2  1/3/17: natural cycle, BFP!!! TWINS!!  EDD: 9/21 (8/31 with twin adjustment)

  • I will definitely look into the Mediterranean diet then!
