Music is something that definitely helps me deal with emotions. Anyone have any songs that help with this process? This one is #1 for me.

omg that is my favorite song of all time - that version.

I wouldn't say this song has helped me cope but just a couple days after I found out about my CP I was listening to amazon streaming. "can't help falling in love" came on but not elvis it done by a girl. It was really beautiful but made me very sad for my loss.

@justsuzie Ah great!!! We see them whenever we can - which is a lot because no one loves Stars more than Toronto. We just went to their annual holiday show right before Christmas which was electric

@Luckyu317 Yeah, sometimes people, especially guys, don't think. I just want to scream, "I gave birth to my baby in a toilet. STFU!!!!" Like when my sister keeps posting Timehop pics of her pregnant belly from two years ago since it's almost my nephew's birthday... but I don't.

On a different note, this is our wedding song and pretty much my motto since DH is a firefighter. It helps.

So my mom has always loved the Wizard of Oz; Collects wizard of oz items and everything. We pretty much grew up being able to quote the movie. However, I haven't watched it or even thought of it in SO long. The day after my miscarriage, admittedly during one of my more hopeful moments, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was stuck in my head and I could not stop singing it. I told my husband how weird it is that this song would be stuck in my head since I'm hoping to someday have our rainbow baby (I had to explain to him what that meant). Then he said "oh I was my mom's rainbow then!" Apparently my mother in law had suffered a loss and then gave birth to my husband a year later.

love this song and especially love this post for giving me another "sign" if you will, of the rainbow baby I'm waiting for.

I really hope this link works (I'm mobile right now) if not the song is by Amick Cutler. I looked and I couldn't find the video on YouTube but for anyone who wants to listen, if you go to his Facebook page and go to his videos it's there; Called "It was three". Him and his wife were TTC for a few years and suffered 2 miscarriages and then finally had a miracle baby. They then went on to expand their family and had 4 more losses. This song is the story of his and his wife's TTC journey. I posted it to my Facebook in October for infant & pregnancy loss awareness month, before we were TTC. Now it brings on whole new emotions. It also gives hope and a little light at the end of this horrible tunnel.

I remember my mom playing this a lot when I was a kid. She has me and my four sisters, but miscarried a boy somewhere between 3-4 or 4-5. I think it was 4-5 and she played this song, but I can't remember if it was for that or when her dad died, which was before #5 was born. Eric Clapton wrote "Tears in Heaven" after his 4 year old son died. It is a sad one.

It's okay @vlagrl29. I'm going through the roller coaster of emotions now. Yesterday was anger. Sometimes I just need to put sad songs and cry. Other times I need positive, upbeat songs to move along. We are here for you!!

So I was playing music for my students and this came on. It's called "Try Everything" by Shakira. Even though the song / video is a little cheesy, I started catching onto the words and message. I told DH about it and he said the same thing as the kids - "It's from Zootopia! You haven't heard it?" (He saw it on the plane on our honeymoon and he's a big kid at heart apparently.)

@toniherdt I was going to post that one too. His wife had a MC. It's a sad reminder how common it as and how it happens regardless of how rich, poor, old, young, famous, not famous, etc. you are.

There are some great songs here. This is a song/video I listen to a lot. Make sure you watch the video - don't just listen to the lyrics. I love the symbolism of the artwork. Our lives are filled with loss of various kinds - it's part of the human experience. But this video twists it to show that although we always carry those losses with us, it's part of what makes each of us unique, and each successive experience makes us that much more beautiful. Also, I love the part toward the end where the characters stop the artist from defining their loss for them, and instead define their loss for themselves. It always makes me feel like I have the power to define what my losses mean to me, instead of the universe doing it for me.
