Appointments this week? Just had one last Wednesday. Everything looks good with baby boy. I passed my glucose screening, my hemoglobin shows I'm anemic, and my midwife has declared I cannot gain much more weight the rest of the pregnancy. Easier said than done...
Symptoms? Lots of movement, heartburn, grumpy
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Nothing for baby but working on getting our place on the market so a step in that direction.
Rants/Raves/Questions: The midwife I met this past week was new at the birth center and I was not impressed with her. She kept talking about changing my diet but never asked what my diet was like. I hope she gets better.
GTKY: Were you involved in any activities in high school and/or college? I played the clarinet in my high school marching and concert band and played on the volleyball team. In college, I continued to play the clarinet in the wind ensemble but worked instead of doing a sport.
Appointments this week? Meeting with the nutritionist tomorrow (I have GD)
Symptoms? Sciatic nerve pain occasionally and lots of movement
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? My H and FIL finally started on my older daughter's big girl room - ripped out the carpet and primed the walls. The baby will be moving into her room
Rants/Raves/Questions: I've been doing the GD diet for a week and I'm over it already...
GTKY: Were you involved in any activities in high school and/or college? I did track/swimming in HS and chorus/played the trumpet, plus Fed challenge club. I didn't do much in college except work
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? i bought a nursing dress I can also wear while pregnant and post partum.
Rants/Raves/Questions: i do wonder how mom's manage 2 under 2
GTKY: Were you involved in any activities in high school and/or college? I was involved in swimming, cross country, and yearbook club in high school. I'm college I was part of an engineering club.
How far along are you? 28 weeks - third trimester already??!!?
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Pink
Appointments this week? Nope, but I should hear back about my GD test
Symptoms? General pregnancy crap. LOTS of movement.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Still just focusing on getting the house on the market, but that should hopefully happen by next week. Also trying to get things set up after our move, like new doctors and all that. Thankfully we're moving back to my hometown, so I'm familiar with everything up there and already have plenty of support.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Meh, nothing of note.
GTKY: Were you involved in any activities in high school and/or college? Field hockey, lacrosse, photography, and theater in high school. Club-level field hockey in college just for the exercise, really. Apart from that, um, lots of drinking? But, to be fair, I went to uni in the UK, so drinking is really just part of fully experiencing the culture

Yes to the last sentence! I studied abroad in the UK and couldn't believe there were not one but TWO bars on campus! I certainly didn't let them go to waste.
Appointments this week? Just going to take my GD test tomorrow since DH is off and can watch DS
Symptoms? Grumpiness focused around nesting, lots of round ligament pain. Looking into wearing baby wraps for extra support, I'm going to talk to my dr about it next week.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Bought a new ring sling
GTKY: Were you involved in any activities in high school and/or college? Played french horn and trombone in high school, was in a sorority in college.
How far along are you? 28 weeks - third trimester! @Blueberry85 how is this possible?!
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Pink
Appointments this week? sono and return OB on wednesday
Symptoms? sciatic pain, belly button pain, feeling pretty good so far tho
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? not a whole lot this week
Rants/Raves/Questions: when did STM+ start taking a stool softener before delivery? I heard the after delivery poop is awful and I'd like to do anything I can to make it less awful.
GTKY: Were you involved in any activities in high school and/or college? If I'm being totally honest here...I smoked pot and drank vodka
@belocin Yep, going to the pub truly is part of British culture. Even the smallest little village will have at least one pub! My uni was more of a the-town-is-the-campus situation, so there were...many, many pubs on "campus." I loved my years in the UK (not just because I met DH while there!), and it's always great when we're able to go back for visits.
@Taylor72 It's only possible because I'm pretty sure life is on fast forward at the moment.
Regarding stool softeners, I didn't start taking them until after DD was delivered, (started the day she was born - offered in hospital by the nurses), and continued to take them regularly for a couple days. I was all geared up for the first postpartum poo to be traumatizing, but I don't think it actually was all that bad. I was really good about making sure I was getting enough fiber in my diet the first couple weeks, too. Try not to stress about it
Appointments this week? None- just had one last week and all is well. I am very frustrated with my weight gain. Already as much as with my last pregnancy. Dr. didnt mention it, or seem concerned, but I am not happy. Guess I will be trying to eat as healthy as possible and do a lot of walking in the next few months.
Symptoms? Tail bone pain and heartburn still.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Not much- DH may be layed off of his job this week, so I have a huge list for him to do while unemployed.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Oh the terrible dreams! They are seriously interfering with my sleep. I fell like I wake up more exhausted than when I went to bed.
GTKY: Were you involved in any activities in high school and/or college? In HS I was drum major of the marching band, played oboe, and in drama club. College I was in a sorority.
@Taylor72 I didnt take stool softeners until after labor when they were offered by the nurse. Took them for a few days, and once my stitches healed, BM's were no problem again.
@rachelmiller03 I've gained almost as much as my last pregnancy as well. The midwife gave me a really hard time, saying I'm not allowed to gain more than a pound a week from here on out
Symptoms? Ev. Rey. Thing. I didn't think I had an easy pregnancy last time, but if you read a list of pregnancy symptoms, I have EVERYTHING. Heartburn. Nose bleeds. Tailbone pain. ... Things related to the bathroom. It's crazy.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? We got a big shipment of baby clothes! We moved across the country when DD was 4 months, so I didn't want to take a bunch of onesies with me and we donated so much stuff... I totally regret it now (what would have been one more bin??), but it was so fun buying baby clothes again. Our nursery is pretty much set up, we just need to buy a new changing table since DD's doesn't match.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Not really any of the above, but I'm trying to be more present again!! DH was traveling pretty much weekly for the last part of 2016 and I just couldn't keep up with my job, DD, and any kind of pregnancy self care. Let's hope his travel schedule doesn't get crazy again ....
GTKY: Were you involved in any activities in high school and/or college? I did a lot of different things like the school paper and such, but the biggest thing I did was rowing. I rowed in some of high school and most of college and those girls are still my best friends!
