I made one last time around and never ended up using it. I don't even remember what was on it. I would like to make another one this time and be better about actually putting it on
I haven't ever made one, but I like the thought of having one. We are big music lovers and music calms me.
I think on my playlist I'll include: Norah Jones Corrine Bailey Rae Christina Perri Florence + the Machine John Legend Michael Buble Bruno Mars Adele Gavin DeGraw DMB
Or if I need energy and songs to hype me up: Usher Outkast Missy Elliot 80's hair bands Thunderstruck (Husker's entrance music)
I didn't have a playlist, but in hindsight, a combo of spa-meditation like music would have been great in early labor and any sort of loud, rage-like music would have been really helpful to drown out the annoying comments my mom and sister were making and distract me from the pain and doubt of active labor.
@Stankonia2014 I like your first list enough to steal it. I'm thinking the only person I would add is Jane Monheit.
As far as energizing music goes, I think I'd probably just grab my running playlist which is full of what I would consider "guilty pleasure" music that would make my husband's skin crawl. Mostly just high energy modern pop type stuff. I'd be tempted to pull up my ultimate running "I can't do it anymore" song, "Enter Sandman". I'm not a Metallica fan by a long shot, but that's what the Hokies run into the stadium to and it pumps me up pretty much no matter what.
I'm having a cesarean, but I found a pretty hilarious list on another board:
Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash Push It - Salt and Peppa I'm coming out - Diana Ross Under Pressure - Queen Crazy B*tch - Buck Cherry Breathe - Michelle Branch Get Some Sleep - Bic Runga Can't Fight This Feeling - REO Speedwagon Push - Matchbox Twenty Shout - Tears for Fears Baby - Justin Beiber Mercy - Duffy Misery - Maroon 5 Over My Head (Cable Car) - The Fray Baby One More Time - Britney Spears We Made You - Eminem Hurt So Good - John Mellencamp I Wanna Be Sedated - The Ramones Don't Stop Believin' - Journey All That She Wants (Is Another Baby) - Ace of Bass Let's Get It Started - Black Eyed Peas My Humps - Black Eyed Peas Born This Way - Lady Gaga Shout It Out Loud - Kiss Stronger - Kanye West Eye of the Tiger - Survivor I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor The Final Countdown - Europe
@Xath our birthing OR allowed us to bring in a mini speaker and play our delivery playlist! It's worth asking! We just kept the speaker with us behind the drape. Here's a snapshot of mine...
So this got brought up on my first BMB... and my husband always thinks this topic is hilarious... If it gets brought up by a friend/family member IRL he just starts singing "AHH sskk sskk PUSH IT!"

I think this playlist needs Twist & Shout by the Beatles.

When my sister gave birth last year, she really liked listening to Enya while in labor.
