How far along are you? 19 weeks
How big is baby? The size of an heirloom tomato or a large mango
Appointment updates?A/S a week from today!
Any new symptoms or changes? Gradually feeling bigger and bigger. Putting on socks isn't hard, but definitely a little heave now to reach down there! I think my sciatic pain is shifting around a bit and locating itself more on my tailbone this week.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: So excited to start feeling baby movements! I felt it first in my yoga class last Sunday at 18w2d, in child's pose and have felt it daily since, sometimes just once or twice, though last night I felt it on my commute home - turned down the music to focus on the movements and baby got still, so I turned it back on and baby started up again! As a FTM it feels so unique! And so magical, yay!
(Lifted from Thursday) GTKY: What are you currently reading or what is your favorite book? Over the holidays I read Hillbilly Elegy by JD Vance. It was interesting and a fast read, would recommend. My sister's partner, who gave birth to their son three months ago, also passed on a book she used for birthing called Birthing From Within. I'm appreciating having a holistic perspective and it's bee nice to have something to help me visualize what lies at the end of this journey of pregnancy.
Any appointments this week? I had an anatomy scan yesterday, and I get the results next Wed at my midwife. I was hoping to find out the sexes, but the tech was in a huge rush because it was the last appointment of the day. I asked him at the end, and he was really non-committal, "I didn't see any penises, so it's probably girls, but I don't know." I was really disappointed because come on! So I'm not taking that with any degree of confidence. I will ask my midwife, but I also will have more u/s because they're twins, so we'll eventually find out.
Symptoms? The "joints need oiled" feeling when I get up has started. Ugh. And I'm still slightly nauseous, but I'm down to 3 diclectin. And oh, the tired!
Rants/Raves/Questions? So tired today. Blargh.
GTKY: What are you currently reading or what is your favorite book? I'm not reading any books right now, but I've been reading short stories published in 2016 for award season. I joined the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America last year, so I get to nominate for the Nebulas. Yeeeeaaaahhh!
