When I told my sister I was pregnant she told me she was diagnosed with Von Willibrands (SP?) Disease.  It's a genetic blood clotting disorder and we are identical twins.  Wish I would have known this before I had 4 hours of appointments yesterday.  Love her, but WTF? She couldn't mention this sooner?  Oh yeah, she's known for six months.  *Sigh*

  • I asked my bf to bring me home a subway tuna sub. He brought me home a local deli turkey sub. I said this isn't what i wanted and he said but you usually love it. Men. Still good but I specifically wanted tuna!!
  • I have a genetic blood clotting disorder too factor V.
Definitely mention to your doctor. I'm on daily lovenox injections twice daily. Was with my last pregnancy too.
  • We had new security features installed at the law firm I work at 4 months ago. Anyone else entering has to be buzzed in by me, the receptionist. The trouble is I have to use this tablet and go through several screens before I can even unlock the door. It takes a minute or two. This is often times awkward and a hassle since I am extremely busy at this firm. I do a lot. Really wish I had a magic button, but I don't.

So there is this one employee that NEVER has her card, and she goes in and out a lot. I let it slide for a while because I knew it would take everyone some time to get used to having their card on them. But it's been 4 months. So eventually I had to ask her where her card was.

    "Oh it's in my car."

Then I tell her that management takes security here very seriously and that she should really try to remember her card.

"Oh I didn't forget it. I just decided to leave it there. It was too much of an inconvenience for me to dig for it in my purse all the time."

Oh really? (As I stand there with my phones ringing off the hook, coffee brewer in one hand, and a stack of copies under my arm).

  • @britvahok,
I already called in and am being referred to a hemotologist.  You can have/ carry the disease, but symptoms may never develop or become severe, but it is something that the doctors need to know.  Good news looks like we will be hitting our deductible sooner rather than later this year.

    @belmont1785,
I'd probably die if I had to inject myself daily.  I am needlephobic, but learned to manage it with bloodwork for my thyroid disease.  Do you have any huge side effects?

  • @Lauradi1010 good luck with everything, let us know how the hematologist appointment goes

WTF!!! One of my coworkers just put their lunch in the microwave and the smell is gross. I'm literally sitting at my desk trying not to throw up. I have no idea who it is but whatever they're eating is disgusting and I'm about to lose my lunch!

  • I was home sick because of nausea and ds teething all night, forgot that a big project was due this morning (it's been completed since last week).   So I'm going to get reamed out tomorrow at work for not handing it in.    I have never ever handed in anything late.   Wtf brain?!    Why can't you remember anything right now?
  • @JDBtwinmama I have to write everything down in a calendar and check it multiple times a day. If it's anything out of the ordinary, I will totally space it.

  • @spotconlon oh that sounds like so much work...but you're right I've gotta start!
  • My WTF goes to the lady I overheard at my Boro hall where I was sorting out a property tax problem. She said the new Fuller House was "pretty risqué".  :#

  • @Mango517  Having seen the new Fuller House, I'm not sure it's any more or less risque than the original series, lol. There's the occasional adult double entendre in between children yell-acting. And some cleavage. Maybe it's the cleavage.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @Mango517 I agree with @SpotConlon that there definitely are more double entendres and cleavage.  I also don't think it is necessarily geared toward the audience that it was when we were all younger.  I think it is definitely written for people of our age.   I do like it.  I have to catch up on the new season.

  • I'd have to re-watch the original series as an adult to see if there are adult jokes that went over my head at the time.

I really like Fuller House! The show is cute and serves up a healthy dose of happy nostalgia for me. It's just that the show ranks at .001 as risqué to me.

But it made me chuckle to overhear that during my hour long meeting with the town tax assessor to straighten out my property taxes. It was a painful hour, so I needed the laugh.

I've had to do it for over 3 years (on and off at this point)
Its a TINY needle, the first time is really hard/strange but it's easy after that.
No side effects other than my tummy (where I inject) itches a bit and I bruise easily. I've never had a problem with bleeding though.

I had a massive pulmonary embolism and almost lost my life in college. I've been taking blood thinners for 10 years since.
  • Mine is the fact that I scrubbed everything down in our bathroom yesterday. It was perfect and I get home from work today and there's little hairs all over the sink. I leave before DH in the mornings and I guess he trimmed his beard and didn't clean it up. I was livid. Normally wouldn't bother me but he got an ear full a few minutes ago haha. It's clean now.
  • @Gia W.

My husband enjoys grocery shopping as a family.  If he goes alone he calls me about 3-4 times because he is a afraid I will flip out at him if he goofs up.  He's probably correct, but if it's on the list, I don't understand how he can mess it up.

  • Haha. I do all the shopping. If I don't my hubs would come home with 15 different kinds of pickles, Mayo, bbq sauces and ranch and nothing else. He's a topping/relish freak. We would have 3 meals :tacos, spaghetti, or stir fry for every meal  if it were up to him LOL

  • @belmont1785 I have to drag my husband out of Whole Foods every time he comes with me. He wants to buy every gourmet random stuff he can put his hands on.
  • @LauraDi1010 *TW* I was diagnosed with type I VWD 14 years ago and was going through more BW when I had my MC. My (fraternal) twin does NOT have it. Neither do my other 3 sisters. I did take DDAVP with surgeries until my new hematologist last year said I did not need it. Now we are leaning towards APLS and l may need Lovenox or baby aspirin and progesterone. Feel free to PM me. Don't worry too much, especially if you have never had a bleeding episode (like blood clot in a vein) or excessive bleeding.

  • @NYTino24,

Thanks for the support. Not sure what level my sister has, but she said it was the lowest risk. She hasn't had any other symptoms other than super low platelets. I have an appointment with a hemotologist set up in the next few weeks so hoping for the best.  I feel terrible hoping my sister's is the rarely acquired non-genetic type, but we won't know until I am tested.  I will let you knowhow it goes.

Lol lol...I woke up to so many cans of Prego Sauce and tuna fish. Two boxes of popsicles tropical island flavor lol. Next time I'm going with him. Ha!
  • @LauraDi1010 that's type 1. Typically you dont need to do anything except in surgery or birth. Just get tested by a hematologist and see what is said. Good luck!

The girls at work decided to break out a coffee pot that has been in our break room forever and bring specialty coffee. They make a really strong, and to my pregnany nose, foul coffee called Jamaican me Crazy. The whole office smells like it and the break room is intolerable. I normally drink coffee, but it doesn't agree with me in pregnancy. I haven't announced my pregnancy at work yet and wouldnt expect them to stop even if they knew. I just have no idea how I can deal with it! I tried to be subtle, tried closing the break room door, asked if they could not make that kind, and even mentioned our patients (most of which are also pregnant because we work in an obgyn practice), but they just laugh it off. I work with great people but might have to quit soon ;)
  • Oh my gosh! Someone put sponges in my work microwave and I could smell it for days!! So gross!

No! That's exactly what he's wants. He "failed" at grocery shopping so that you'd have to come next time.
