Re: Thursday Ticker Change

  • How far along are you? 26 weeks

How big is baby? Length of a scallion, but weighs about 2 lbs

Appointments this week? I did my glucose test this week and passed.  Yippee!  Check up on Monday.

Symptoms?  Mostly out of breath, haha.  Reflux and braxton hicks.  Other than that I'm good.

Rant/Rave/Questions? Today was a horrible day and I am incredibly glad it's over.

GTKY: What do you typically order at a coffee shop (either pre-pregnancy, now, or both)?  I stop at Bess Eaton every morning for a medium hot hazelnut with cream and sugar.  It's glorious.

  • How far along are you? 28 weeks

How big is baby? Basket of wings or an eggplant

Appointments this week? Regular appointment plus glucose test. I'm the weirdo on the board eating the eggs and toast breakfast instead of the Glucola drink...wish me luck.

Symptoms?  Mostly I feel really good. A little run down when DS is having a particularly tough day, but otherwise eating, sleeping, pooping just fine lol. I don't take any for granted.

Rant/Rave/Questions? I downloaded an app before I even got pregnant to write a birth plan...only to find out I have to buy a full version to do anything useful...all these months later.

GTKY: What do you typically order at a coffee shop (either pre-pregnancy, now, or both)?  I love chai lattes, iced chai, fancy flavored gourmet hot chocolates, sometimes iced tea. I don't like the taste of coffee itself, but I can always find myself something to sip.
  • How far along are you? 28 weeks! Yay 3rd Trimester!

How big is baby? Roughly 14.5 inches and over 2 lbs! The size of an eggplant, so they say.

Appointments this week? I have had three this week... One with the lab for my glucose test, anemia screening, and antibodies screening for being rh-. I also had an appointment with the osteopath for low back pain which was amazing, and then my routine 28 week appointment yesterday which went well.

Symptoms?  Not really, mostly I just feel like I am getting really uncomfortably full if I try to eat a full meal, so I'm going to have to switch to smaller meals more frequently throughout the day.

Rant/Rave/Questions? Right now my rant is that NOTHING i want for the nursery decor will ship to my APO box and its super frustrating.

GTKY: What do you typically order at a coffee shop (either pre-pregnancy, now, or both)? I am currently a decaf cappuccino person with chocolate on top. Usually I get the same, but caffeinated.
  • How far along are you? 28 (+1)
How big is baby? An eggplant or rollerblade
Appointments this week? I had a basic OB appointment (boys hearts sound good, I'm measuring a little ahead), also met with a pediatrician today which was good, and tomorrow we're attending a full-day child birth class followed by a tour
Symptoms?  Other than my increasing diameter, just some slight soreness around my hips and the frequent need to pee. Otherwise, I have been feeling really great.
    Rant/Rave/Questions? Nothing at the moment!
GTKY: What do you typically order at a coffee shop (either pre-pregnancy, now, or both)?   Flavored coffee (not with flavor shots - too much sugar) with cream and a splenda or two.

  • @BabyBlake042017 Ugh...I'd forgotten the about shipping woes that come with being stationed overseas. I used to have to ship some items to friends/family only to have them then ship to me. I remember hearing about a company that some opted to go through that you could use as your address to bypass the APO. Sorry - my pregnancy brain won't give me more details right now. At least there are a lot of companies that will ship to an APO for free...if only you wanted nursery decor from them.  :/
  • @thecavfamily I'm probably just being picky, but I have a vision and I want it to come together! I was able to order my storage bins for my shelves from target which was awesome. They have really great shipping to the APO. My curtains wouldn't ship, so I sent them to a friend's house and she is going to forward them to me. For the life of me I cannot seem to find a place in the U.K. to get an upholstered rocker/glider and big stuff definitely won't ship so I have to go with a wood one with a cushion (which is fine, just not what I wanted). Even amazon wouldn't ship my travel system! Its dumb and I should just be happy to have a healthy pregnancy but I am frustrated with the shipping big time. Mostly I just don't want to live over seas anymore, and my husband started applying for jobs in Germany so I think my frustrations went through the roof this week.

@BabyBlake042017 I understand your frustrations, lady. I feel like a lot of companies just don't understand what it means to ship to an APO. Maybe they're thinking they are shipping overseas, which they are, but really the APO just means they're shipping your goods to New York (I think) and then the military takes it from there.
  • @thecavfamily exactly! We can use AE or NY interchangeably for our state so it's so dumb! It's the whole point of the APO system, which is what makes it so frustrating. So glad you understand! It makes me feel so much better just knowing someone gets it haha!
