Morning sickness

I have a 15 month old son and had terrible morning sickness. This time around, it hasn't been that bad, my question is have any mommies had less morning sickness in a pregnancy and had a girl than they did with a boy (specifically if the boy is older)? Thanks!!

Re: Morning sickness

  • This is my first pregnancy, but my Nana (who had 6 children, 9 grandchildren) always swore morning sickness isn't as bad when you're carrying a girl.

    I've always heard the opposite.

But personally i dont believe theres any correlation.
  • Meh.
I had middle morning sickness with my daughter. I've had nothing so far this time.

I've always heard you're sicker with a girl. But I guess that ones out the window lol
  • I think your each woman's body responds to pregnancy differently. There's no proven correlation. Some women get sick, some don't. Some have every symptom in the book, some would never know they're pregnant if they didn't take a test. Just enjoy the pregnancy for what it is.

  • I have 2 girls.  With my first I had terrible morning sickness (lost 15lbs in the first 8 weeks then went on Zofran) that lasted right up until labor.  With my second life was easier--morning sickness during the 1st trimester and it was manageable.

Every woman and every pregnancy is different--It honestly doesn't correlate with the sex of the baby.  That being said, the old wives' tale is that girls make you more sick than boys.

  • I'm 8 weeks and 2 days along...and MS hit yesterday. Luckily it has only been in the morning but ugh it is just the worst. I have read some horror stories of this lasting until birth.  Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.
  • I have two boys at home first one I was barely sick next one maybe a little this one....awful.  I live in a town of 13000 and no pharmacy carries diclegis plus for me it's 180 a month which I was totally willing to pay bc I couldn't handle it.  Pharmacist recommended unisom and b6 which I take but makes me super tired and only helps a little.  At 11 weeks I'm finally able to eat but now have no appetite
  • My OB recommended taking B12. Anyone tried that?
