1st Trimester

Too much for me right now :(

Good morning!

So I found out I was pregnant from my first round of Clomid about a week before Christmas. The next morning, one of our vehicles was robbed right in our driveway.  Later on that week, we get a letter from the IRS stating we owe over $2k back to them, turns out it was a mistake on our tax preparer's side, and he gave us credits we were not meant to have. So of course we have to pay it back. Then on the Thursday before New Year's, DH and I went to ER due to intense stomach pain and non stop vomiting. Ultrasound at the time saw only a gestational sac (I was only about 5 weeks). End result was acute appendicitis. They took that sucker out and I was pain free!

On Tuesday of this week I had another Ultrasound per Dr. orders, and heard the 135bpm heartbeat! Very happy and excited. That same day, appendix surgeon calls and asks me to come in the next day for a surgery follow up. At the appt. they tell me that they found carcinoid tumors in my appendix and believe them to be in my colon.

I'm stuck here as she didn't give me much more info than that and I don't see the colorectal specialist for another week. I'm stressed to the max.

I am sorry if this is a jumble and doesn't make much sense, I feel as if I can not put 2 + 2 together right now.

  • So sorry you're going through so much!  You have definitely been dealt a fair share of sucky things.  Try to be strong for your baby and I'll be sending prayers and good vibes your way!

  • Good grief this is a lot for one person to process. Vent away. Let it out.
When I'm stressed I go and read a good book. Everyone has their something for stress relief. I hope you can do something that helps take your mind off things.

  • Thank you both! And honestly, reading a book sounds like a WONDERFUL idea. I can not remember the last time I did and it sounds like the perfect thing to make me just kind of veg out and relax. Especially with an impending ice storm on my 3day weekend!
  • That sounds like too much for anyone to handle!  Hope you nice a relaxing weekend with your book.

  • Oh my goodness what a lot to handle in just a few weeks. I'm sorry that I don't have any advice, but know that I'm sending prayers and positive vibes. I hope everything turns out fine with the colorectal dr and you can have some peace.
  • I am so sorry you have to deal with this all at once. *TW* around Thanksgiving my uncle almost died. Then my aunt, his sister, died. Then their brother was hospitalized. Then I had a major computer issue at work, a terrible observation because I was sick and pregnant, I was told I wasn't covered by the short term disability insurance I paid for months before and couldn't reapply for it because I was already pregnant, and then I had a MC. *TW* All I can say is you are not alone in going through a lot at once. If you need to talk, PM me. My sister had an infected appendix and it turned out she had colon cancer at age 16. She had 1/3 of her colon removed and had precautionary chemo. She wasn't pregnant at the time, but had a daughter 4 years later and 3 more kids after. There is a mom in the May BMB with breast cancer. Maybe you two can connect. Try to keep calm and focus on that baby.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
