Infertility

Anybody else feel like this before retrieval day?

I've been feeling super sore everywhere, especially my lower back and ovaries, and boy do I feel them. Almost like the flu since last night. I didn't have an appetite to eat at all yesterday but forced myself to eat and drink before taking the antibiotic. Then shortly after taking it I vomited. Not sure if it's my nerves or my ovaries getting ready for something. Anybody else experience this? Going in today to take the little suckers out, appreciate any good vibes and experiences you could share

Re: Anybody else feel like this before retrieval day?

  • Are you sure it's not just nerves? I didn't puke but I definitely had myself really worked up. They had to give me extra muscle relaxers bc my blood pressure and heart rate were sky high lol. The lower back pain...I've found mine had been hurting bc I was kind of slumping over to take some of the pressure off my ovaries (if that makes sense). There was definitely a lot of pressure down there. Hopefully you get to feeling better and you have a great retrieval this morning! Best of luck!

  •  I'm feeling so yucky..... this isn't my first retrieval, but this is probably one of the ones I feel the worst. I think it's based on hormones. I'm at risk for ohss so I'm super high.... but since triggering I feel wretched.... nauseous.... sore tummy, ovaries, boobs. Just awful. I've felt yucky like this before though, so it's normal. Just not fun
  • Good to know it's all normal, I got nervous something was horribly wrong yesterday and I'm not well enough for the retrieval or something. Unfortunately I wasn't able to reach any nurses either yesterday to ask if it was normal, so that was a bit unnerving. Went in today, nurses and Doc confirmed that it's all normal. My pulse was on the high side too so my Dr had me use their massage person before going in which was really nice. Went in fairly relaxed but still felt horrible pelvic pain. Woke up after procedure and felt like a relief. I'm a little sore in the ovaries as expected, but not at all like before. Now just taking it easy, got some rest and my appetite back
  • @mamma1614 congrats on the retrieval!! Glad it all worked out!
