I mostly posted this thread because I wanted to AW post in it. Three years ago we bought a house that had a hot tub INSIDE in a room off the dining room. We always said it would be the nursery, but for now we'd gut it and it would just be the storage room while we worked on the rest of the house. For the last month, H has been diligently cleaning it out, getting sheet rock up, framing a closet, mudding/taping/texturing the ceiling/painting. Tomorrow, we finally get carpet. All of our nursery furniture was delivered last Friday (crib, dresser, glider, book shelf, end table, changing tray, and closet organization system), and H took the entire day off tomorrow to get everything set up for me after the carpet is installed. This has been such a long road full of high levels of anxiety, and I'm so excited to come home from work and see this room.
To make it even better, Friday is my every-other-Friday off from work, so I have a whole day of baby stuff washing/organization planned. I am so excited I could cry.
I'm not sure this is glitter fart material, but we just realized that the baby swing we received has a power cord to plug into an outlet, and runs battery free!! We are soooooo excited since we must have gone through a hundred batteries with our other kids.
My husband has been so brilliant this past week so deserves to be AW'd. Hes built the nursery furniture, done everything he possibly could for me, tonight when i was packing my hospital bag he even ironed my pyjamas & nightdresses for me & has put up with my grumpiness & moaning & been so encouraging when ive been a bit down about my gd.
I was more in shock that the jammies and night dresses get ironed lol... my husband would laugh at me if I even suggested ironing out my jammies. But @Janefelicity I sent you a PM.
I wouldnt usually iron anything never mind jammies but i know my mum would give out to me if she came to the hospital to see me & i was all wrinkled! Lol
DH bought me a nice wheeling suitcase for my hospital bag today, he called me at work to let me know. I had a cheapy duffel bag all packed up and yesterday went to add a few last minute things...and the zipper broke and exploded open lol. So it was a nice surprise. He also set up my glider for me yesterday and it rocks! He has also been giving me foot rubs...and this is huge b/c he HATES feet with a passion, thinks they are gross gross gross, so I have basically never gotten a foot rub our whole relationship...but now he just scoops up my swollen little feet and massages them without me even asking. And a small glitter fart to myself is I got all the baby shower stuff washed and put away and her carseat is officially installed with our neon pink BABY ON BOARD! sign in the rear window.
@kswiger06 I'm so jealous of your swing! We're using the same one that's gone through 4 kids prior to this LO, including DS. It's the kind with DD batteries and you go through so many of them as LO gets heavier if they weren't so darn expensive we would probably just buy a new one.
I'm hoping she won't be as high maintenance as DS was and we won't have to use it.

@concreteangell I didn't even know they made swings that plug in! Lol it was a gift so when my husband was putting it together, he walked in and said (holding the cord that plugs in) "remember how many batteries we had to buy before? We never have to buy swing batteries again." Lol the little things that excite us. Haha, watch this little guy not want anything to do with the swing.
Dh has been so super helpful today. He hung curtain rod in babies room after picking it up from the store, installed car seat base, put the bouncy seat together, took care of dd, cooked dinner and watched both kiddos while I showered. He's just been all around extra great today because he knew I wasn't feeling 100%. This counts as a glitter fart right?
After working a crazy weekend plus an extra night, DH cleaned the bathtub for me last night so I could take a nice warm bath. My whole body hurt yesterday and the bath felt so nice!
I know it's Wednesday, but my GF is that my work threw me a surprise baby shower this afternoon! I am so incredibly blessed to work for the district that I do!
It it was funny but though, when I talked to my boss last week she asked if I could come in today because she needed to talk to me about "gifted stuff" (we test kids for gifted and I just had a bunch of evals right before my water broke) so I was nervous all week thinking that something was wrong with one of my cases. She told me today that she only said that to make sure I could come in since I thought it was legit work related lol.
Even though DD came early, I'm glad she was able to be there so all of my co-workers could meet her!
I got a package in the mail today and it was a baby blanket crocheted for me by a college friend! It was such a nice surprise and the blanket is beautiful!
ETA - side note, does anyone know the correct way to wash crocheted blankets?
I'm off work today, and DH took the kiddos to school, so I'm still in my pjs, made myself some breakfast(that I got to eat warm!), and now I'm sitting watching a little tv with my hot tea! DH's work baby shower is this afternoon too!
My HR dept just let me know that my company is expanding its paid maternity leave and will be announcing it in the next couple of weeks. We currently get 12 weeks paid, and looks like it might be closer to 16-18 weeks now!!!!!!!! Yay! I was already planning on taking about 16, but would be supplementing with sick and vacation time to make up the excess over 12 weeks so I didn't lose pay. And now I might get to take a little more time, and not have to dip into sick/vacation at all

If it is acrylic yarn (most common in US), just wash on gentle cycle and dry by laying flat or on cool.
Cotton's biggest concern would be shrinking, much like a t-shirt. Wool I don't use much down here, so I don't really know, sorry!
*I'm a knitter, but I'm assuming the advice follows for crocheted items, too.
Some good advice here as well for how to handle woolens in general: https://www.remodelista.com/posts/expert-advice-how-to-clean-woolen-blankets-5-experts-tips-from-sharktoothnyc/
And my first listing is already under contract!
