Re: Monday Ticker Change
1. 26 wks. I can't believe I'm nearing the end of 2nd trimester!
2. Zucchini.
3. None.
4. I've actually had bursts of energy this week! No complaints.
5. Rave- my prenatal yoga class was cancelled and replaced by something else on the schedule so I was super bummed. I adore the teacher. But we all spoke up and they put it back on the schedule a tiny bit later in the day. Phew!
6. We hired our doula (same one we used for our second birth) and paid half. I reached out to my hypnobirthing teacher to see if we can schedule a few privates for a refresher with her since she doesn't teach classes anymore. Still waiting to hear back. And my friend scheduled my blessingway for 3/26. All exciting stuff!
7. I have a huge fear of stillbirth/loss. I don't think that will ever go away. I am also a bit nervous about DH adjusting to 3 kids. I adjusted super easily to mothering 2, but DH took longer and that period of time was super hard on our marriage. I'm really excited for the birth itself.

1. How far along are you? 26 weeks
2. How big is baby? Kale. Or for my husband, the size of the pair of his work gloves our dog chewed on last night.
3. Appts this week? None til the end of the month.
4. Symptoms? Apparently occasional Braxton hicks in the evening when I'm dehydrated because I stop drinking water by dinner because I don't want to pee all night. Heartburn when I eat irresponsibly. Not sleeping well/tired. Cranky. Can't breathe a lot of the time.
5. Rants/Raves? I would guess that since my bump doesn't stick out far, that I'm just carrying her high and back. Which would explain how breathless I am and how I get full so quickly. If she would just stick out I'd have more room! At least for a little while, until she gets really big. I still can't believe my bump is this small, but I guess I should be grateful.
On the other hand, I can still wear several normal shirts if they're flowy.
6. What did you do to prepare for baby this week? Solidified with my mother a date for her to come visit and help me with the nursery or go shopping with me for furniture later this month. Signed up to win a newborn photo shoot. Fingers crossed!
7. Are you holding on to any fears about pregnancy/birth/post-birth? Having already lost one precious baby, I'm still afraid I'll lose this one. Rational or irrational, it's definitely a concern. Also as a FTM labor doesn't sound fun. And having had PPD after my loss, I know it's likely I'll have it again. Also leaving my job is going to be hard too. So yes. Lots of them.

1. How far along are you?: 25 weeks!
2. How big is baby? Cauliflower
3. Appts this week? Regular prenatal visit on Saturday
4. Symptoms?: heartburn is really kicking in lately!
5. Rants/Raves? : Rant: since I still have severe morning sickness, I'm still taking diclegis
. I went to refill my rx on Thursday and they said my insurance needs another pre-authorization from my dr before they can process my refill. In the meantime, I've been taking half doses to stretch what I had left, with last night being my last dose. As of today, I'm still in limbo and can't get my refill. The last time I tried weaning myself off diclegis last month, I was vomiting every hour all day whether I ate/drank something or not, it was terrible! Luckily my dr gave me some samples today to get by in the meantime, but holy crap it's so frustrating!
Rave: I love feeling all this little lady's kicks! She's such a wild child haha. I can't wait to meet her, im so in love
6. What did you do to prepare for baby this week?: nothing really! The nursery is pretty much done aside from putting away whatever I'll get from my shower I might start making a hospital bag list and slowly buy things just to keep on top of things, but I'm in no rush!
7. Are you holding on to any fears about pregnancy/birth/post-birth? As a first time mom I'm terrified of giving birth since I don't know what to expect. I also still worry about the baby every single day (she always lets me know she's fine by thrashing around though haha). I'm also terrified for that first day DH and I are home alone with the baby, I feel like I have no clue what to do!
1. How far along are you? 25 Weeks
2. How big is baby? Cauliflower
3. Appts this week? No, I hate waiting for my next appointment
4. Symptoms? Back pain and I had pretty bad tailbone pain. Hungry all the time. And oh the gas pain!
5. Rants/Raves? Rave: I caved and bought a snoogle and I love it. I didn't realize that I could use it to sit on and it has helped my tailbone pain so much!
6. What did you do to prepare for baby this week? Um, does making a to-do list count? I feel like there is a lot of stuff I can't do until after the shower and we see what we still need to get.
7. Are you holding on to any fears about pregnancy/birth/post-birth? Always, I have been very lucky and all tests results have been fine but I'm worried that something else could be wrong. I also don't know what I am capable in terms of going through labor.
1. How far along are you? 28 weeks - 3rd trimester!! Yay!
2. How big is baby? eggplant
3. Appts this week? yes on Friday, I'm pretty sure it's my routine check in - weight, measurement, heartbeat
4. Symptoms? all the usuals
5. Rants/Raves? DH felt the baby for the first time this week
and I'm coming down with a cold/flu/something AGAIN...darn students!
6. What did you do to prepare for baby this week? we put the crib together
7. Are you holding on to any fears about pregnancy/birth/post-birth? I'm always worried something will go wrong even though I don't have reason, I'm so in love with this boy I just couldn't imagine something bad happening. I'm also seriously terrified of what labor and delivery will be like. I'm worried I won't be able to handle it. I can take short lengths of intense pain but I do not do well at all with pain that lasts for a long time. I'm just afraid of everything lol.
Eggplant. Rollerblade.
I had an appointment today. Fundal height corresponds to someone 32 weeks along. (Last month it was 5 weeks ahead, so my doc is not worried.) I used my concerns about my son's size to schedule a growth/fluid check ultrasound for next month. GCT today. The drink wasn't terrible, but I suspect I'll need to rule out (or not) GD with the 3-hour test. There's obviously a positive correlation between GD and large babies, though it doesn't necessarily indicate causation. It's difficult not to worry, but I realize that doing so won't change the outcome so I'm making a concerted effort.
Symptoms: Nothing new.
Baby prep: We went to the first (of 6) Childbirth Prep Class in the last week and tonight completed the Breastfeeding Class. DH went to both with only minor prodding (for the BF). He just told me, "Breastfeeding class was like going to Mardi Gras." So yeah, feel free to use all the boob-age as motivation for your man to tag along.
Rants/Rave: Nothing of note, other than those things I already mentioned above.
Fears: Just fear of the unknown and let's face it, no matter how much I read and how many classes I attend, it's all still the unknown. I'm a Type A gal, just trying to accept the fact that I'm not in charge when it comes to pregnancy and all it entails.
1. How far along are you? 26 weeks!
2. How big is baby? He was 900 grams on Friday so I'd imagine 930 ish
3. Appts this week? nothing this week.. I had two last week.
4. Symptoms? Sleeping better (yay!), Cold is clearing up (yay!), nothing to mention this week apart from a small pulld muscle in my feet which makes walking a bit tricky. enjoying this rare week f feeling ok ish.
5. Rants/Raves?
6. What did you do to prepare for baby this week? Not much - I was really unwell for almost two weeks with this cold.
7. Fears: agree with @Nolegirl1185 @HGRich @MWoodside - I am anxious about almost everything, most importantly (not necessarily in this order) about loss, problems, labour, pain, not being looked after, the unknown, cot death, breastfeeding, illnesses, abnormalities, absolutely everything. I am managing it by 1.) educating myself (helps to read things although terrifying), 2.) talking it out - mostly with my sis and my husband and 3.) collecting positive quotes and mantras and trying to put myself in a positive mindframe. I am becoming a bit obsessed with movements, if I dont fee something for a few hours, I get very anxious, even though there is no reason, my baby is measuring perfectly and looking fine. They offered me a few sessions with a mental health advisor for my anxiety and why not - it might help.
My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever.
Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!!
Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
1. How far along are you? 27 weeks
2. How big is baby? Lettuce
3. Appts this week? I went last week for my Glucose test, I passed! However, I am anemic, so I started on a separate iron supplement.
4. Symptoms? Heartburn and indigestion! I'm starting to get back/torso pain, just from lugging the bump around and not being able to use my abs as much.
5. Rants/Raves? My employer hasn't found a replacement for my Maternity leave, and I fear they wont. I'm struggling with the guilt of taking 12-16 weeks off. However, I've saved the PTO for 12 years looking forward to this!
6. What did you do to prepare for baby this week? We finished our registry this weekend, it was really great to see my DH picking out toys and books he'd like to have for the baby. We also ordered the crib and dresser/changer, and the prints that will go on her wall.
7. Are you holding on to any fears about pregnancy/birth/post-birth? I'm concerned because I need a lot of sleep, and get cranky and short with my husband when I don't have enough rest. I'm not sure what those first months will be like without sleep. I'm also afraid of PPD, and know a lack of sleep can exacerbate it.
1. How far along are you? 26 weeks
2. How big is baby? Kale
3. Appts this week? Nope - next week though I have a regular check up
4. Symptoms? None really other than the occasional heartburn
5. Rants/Raves? DH has all of this energy that I'm so jealous of! I swear getting me to do anything is a struggle - just so tired and always looking for a nap - haha.
6. What did you do to prepare for baby this week? DH painted her room and moved all of the furniture into place. Guess I need to get on it in terms of decorating and putting clothes away, etc.
7. Are you holding on to any fears about pregnancy/birth/post-birth? A little - with DS he was fine but they were concerned he was too calm (ie. not crying enough and worried about oxygen) so they whisked him away to the transitional NICU for 3 hrs and of course, DH went with him in case any decisions needed to be made, etc. I am a little afraid of that happening again - nothing was more frightening than having just given birth with almost 20 people in the room and then within 10 min literally being all by myself. Luckily my dr. was amazing and came and sat with me telling jokes until DH could come back with pictures and an update. So just crossing my fingers we can avoid all of that this time! DS ended up being perfectly healthy and they were just being cautious - which of course, I'm grateful for in the end.
1. How far along are you? 26 (+2)
2. How big is baby? Butternut Squash
3. Appts this week? Today! In about an hour
4. Symptoms? Just some back aches, but I also have an chiro adjustment today
5. Rants/Raves? Being sick SUCKS when pregnant! I have this crazy cold with the worst congestion ever!!!
6. What did you do to prepare for baby this week? Washed and hung up clothes. Tomorrow we are moving even more stuff out of the baby room to make room. I registered on sunday, and picked out a crib!
7. Are you holding on to any fears about pregnancy/birth/post-birth? I'm freaked about how I will feel post-birth. I feel like I should be more scared about the actual labor.. that fear hasnt come yet
