SCH

Does anyone else have a subchorionic hematoma?  Mine was diagnosed at 8weeks and I have been bleeding everyday since.  Varying degrees.  This was a surprise pregnancy and I was so excited but now I am afraid to get excited.  I have good u/s 2x and will have another on Wed. to see how things are.  I have a 50 percent chance of m/c.  Please tell me I am not alone because I feel like I am.

Re: SCH

  • Not me but many friends with previous pregnancies and now healthy children. Stay strong mama.

  • Not me but a good friend of mine had one. Discovered it on Mothers Day (of all days). Has a beautiful baby girl now that just turned 1! Hang in there! Positive thoughts.

  • Aw hang in there! The July board has a SCH support thread here You may want to read that thread. It seems like plenty of July ladies are in the same boat as you and have all been doing well. TW It's an emotional rollercoaster of a thread though.

  • Not sure if I had one or not. I know at my first ultrasound they detected a bleed. I came back 2 weeks later and nothing had grown, so they seemed ok with it.

  • I have one too! I have had on and off bleeding.. and it sucks! Especially since I had 2 MC this year already. I had a bleed with my son too.. and he's 3.5  don't worry! Did the dr tell you there's a 50% chance?? Is It that big or right next to baby? SCH doesn't really increase your chance of MC unless it's supppper close to baby.

  • I hope everything works out OK for you!
  • I had one with my first pregnancy. It healed and I have a happy, healthy, smart 18 month old.  They'll most likely monitor with  ultrasounds.  From what they told me it's not uncommon. I won't tell you not to worry, because it's impossible, but I do hope you can calm your mind
  • No personal experience but two of my friends had them with their pregnancies. They both now have very adorable sons. Hope that your SCH resolves itself without any issues.

  • Thank you all!  It is super close to placenta so they said 50 percent chance.  I will check out that board.  Thank you for your positive thoughts and encouraging words.
  • At my first ultrasound they told me I had a bleed.  They didn't use the term SCH so I don't know for sure. It was a shock because I have had no visible bleeding since a few days before my missed period (which I assumed was implantation). I go back on the 24th to see if it is resolved.  It seems like such a long wait!  However, my doc did not seem concerned in the least. She said it is common and very often will resolve itself.  She told me not to worry.  Although she didn't give me any special instructions, I have scaled down my workouts and am trying to rest (which is driving me crazy because I am usually very active!). But again, she told me several times not to worry over it, there is really no known cause and many times it will resolve itself.

  • I had a SCH with my first baby. He's now six and perfectly healthy. I bled to various degrees from week 8 to 9 and a half weeks. When I delivered the placenta you could see the scar tissue from the bleed, it was about the size of a half dollar coin.

I know it's scary, but they often resolve on their own. I wish you the best with your pregnancy!

  • I started bleeding a week ago.  *TW*  I had my first visit already scheduled for the following day so I pushed to get a sono especially because I had an ectopic a year ago, which started out with spotting.  I saw a heartbeat and the baby was measuring 6w6d.  I was told there was a moderate amount of blood around the sac and it could go either way.  At that point, I was just having brown spotting, but I was told to expect more bleeding and/or spotting.  So far, I haven't had any more bleeding, but I'm a nervous wreck every time I go to the bathroom or feel cramps.  I have another sono tomorrow to monitor the SCH and officially date the pregnancy.  I have a feeling I won't be able to relax for a long time.
