How far along are you? 24 weeks - viability!!!

How big is baby? Cantaloupe, corn, pack of Oreos, Philly cheesesteak

Symptoms? Lots of kicks and movement. Back pain, some brown spotting, foot cramps,

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Nothing...I might get the changing table organized and clear up the nursery a bit. I promised myself that I wouldn't buy anything else until my baby shower at the end of Feb.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm actually fairly concerned about my lack of weight gain. I'm not meaning this as a brag, but I've only gained 3 lbs. I was the same way with DS (only gained 17), but I'm hoping my OB doesn't say anything on Monday and that Samuel and my uterus are measuring on track.
Rave: I'm going to my sister's tonight for dinner and I'm super excited. Philly Cheesesteak Sliders and Lots of Tots (nachos with tater tots).

GTKY: What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday? Since Saturday is ticker change, I like to wake up at my own pace (this never happens), read about Samuel's latest developments on all my apps, weigh myself, and take my weekly picture. Non pregnancy related, DH is in charge of making breakfast at our house, so I love when I can lay in bed until breakfast is delivered to me. I don't mind having some sort of outing/plans as long as my Sunday is clear. I need to have one day to relax, clean, and recharge.

I've got a routine appt on Thursday. Passed my glucose test this week, yay!

Symptoms?

Sciatica is much better after a massage, heartburn is starting to creep in. Still tired all. the. time.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week?

I'm going to try to go through the giant pile of baby gear this afternoon during DS's nap so I can send most of it back to SIL, ha ha.

GTKY: What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?
My saturdays aren't usually any different from regular days now so we are either out running errands or lounging at home before work that night.

@KirstinH88 I'm in the same boat as far as weight gain. 3 or 4 lbs total gain so far- less than at this point with my first pregnancy. I hope your OB isn't too hard on you- as long as baby is measuring okay you should be fine. My situation is a bit different so I'm just over here eating all the things to try to get this baby to grow!

25 weeks. Team blue, no appointments.

Symptoms: physically feeling OK, just large. My mental state is not good at all. The past few days have been rough and I can feel myself sliding into a serious depressive state. My winter break ends this weekend and I'm pretty worried about going back to work. I'm not really sure what steps to take right now...Hoping to talk to DH today to fess up about how bad it's gotten and make a plan .

Rants/raves/questions: not really any this week.

GTKY: family time but with a plan. We all get grumpy if it's just a day of hanging out with no plans. Some alone time or down time mixed in...Either some projects, thrift shopping or reading.

3 hour glucose test Tuesday... should have known better than to do the 1 hour the day after Christmas binging

Symptoms?

lots of movement, heartburn, some hip and lower back pain... Also recovering from the stomach bug which is so miserable, but even worse while pregnant!

What have you done to prepare for baby this week?

nothing! I feel really unprepared this time around. The baby's room is basically a storage room at this point. We are trying to convert the playroom to the baby's room, but now it just looks like a giant mess.

GTKY: What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?

On the couch at this point!

How big is baby? Eggplant or small basket of wings (how do they even figure that out...the sizing just makes no sense each week! ha)

Appointments this week? I have a regular appointment on Friday

Symptoms? Constantly hungry, super dry skin/nose with blood, tired, feet getting tired at the end of the day, the muscles on the sides of my stomach get really tight sometimes.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Last weekend we set up the nursery and I absolutely adore it. Today we finished out our baby registry at BRU and made a private registry at Target for the completion coupon.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I need to do some real research on breastfeeding, pumps, and all of that. I was SO lost at BRU trying to figure out how to register for bottles and such. Can you switch between pump and bottle brands? I put a Medela pump on my registry, but what if baby doesn't like Medela bottles? Can you use other brand bottles? Can you just switch out the nipple? I felt (and still do) so ridiculous that I had NO CLUE what I was doing today.

ETA: Also, THIRD TRIMESTER! Time is flying by!

GTKY: What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday? A lazy morning where we sleep in, slowly get ready, and maybe go run some errands or hang out with friends.

I'm hoping a routine will help @HGRich. It's always so bittersweet to leave DD. Work can wear on my heart, you know? 50 kids to love is a lot. It just feels like too much lately. I had to work in my classroom for a few hours this morning to prep and I could feel the stress creeping in. Usually when I feel this way about teaching, I console myself by daydreaming about other normal jobs. But with maternity leave coming, that's not even a daydream I can entertain. Feeling a bit trapped.

@cafedisco I am so sorry you are going through that. I am in the same boat as you and can feel my depression really flaring up bad. Things were a lot better for me over all the holidays, but now I can feel myself crashing. I thought I had kicked the depression I had struggled with over the summer and start of fall. I will definitely be talking to my midwife about it at my appointment in two weeks. I'm not sure I will be able to shake this one and I don't want it to turn into PPD. Keep us updated. I really have no idea what next steps to take either so let me know if something is working for you.

Appointments this week? None until the 24th.

Symptoms? SPD pain, leg cramps, horrible HORRIBLE heartburn, heart palpitations, lower back/tailbone pain, I have peed myself like 8 times this week coughing or sneezing, I also officially have a CRAZY bad waddle, and I guess my last symptom would be not giving a single shit about anyone other than myself and my babies.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? I started working on a crocheted blanket for my baby. Nothing else because I am homeless and will probably remain homeless until after the baby is born and I leave DH to live with my parents and figure out my life.

Rants/Raves/Questions: So, if you read the above I'm sure you can guess my life is complete shit in every way. I never in a million years would have thought this would be my life. I am legitimately preparing to go and live with my parents after the baby is born because DH can't man up and deal with our life situation. He has let me down SOOOOO much and refuses to accept reality. There is honestly not much I can do until after this baby is born. But, after that I will be doing what is best for them because he is a grown ass adult and they are helpless children and I choose them.

GTKY: What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday? Well, the opposite of this one. I like to relax, but get a little something done or go out and do something fun at the end of the day.

Symptoms? Feeling like a new person after my visits to the chiro. I mean, I was able to get on the floor to play with DD! My hips are still sore at the ensnared of the day but no more shooting pain or inability to walk. That being said, feeling very large and in charge and this belly still has a long way to go.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Our Amazon Welcome Box arrived! Counts, right?

Rants/Raves/Questions: Has anyone gotten their prescription from their doctor for their breast pump to submit to insurance? I hadn't it on my list to ask about at my appointment this week.

GTKY: What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday? Being productive so we can relax on Sunday!

@wagnerw as a FTM I want to know about breast pumps and bottles too! I've just started shopping for one after checking to see what insurance covers and I'm lost on what's best too. Ha. So many options.

@cafedisco I'm not even the one who goes back to work after a school break and the stress is still palpable. DH gets irritable, starts trying to cram random house projects in, talks about his last few days of break like life will end in a couple days...it's a roller coaster. I know he loves his job but it's a lot to shoulder.

@wagnerw and @HGRich my coworker who is due in 6 weeks just got her pump so there is still time for that! Your doc has to write a script and send it in. My insurance gave me 3 options and I picked from those. I didn't have great luck with Ameda with DS and will hopefully be getting a Medela this time around. Seems to have less problems with those.

As far as bottles.... just pick one you are comfortable with. There is no way to know if baby will love or hate it yet until you try. We used Tommy Tippie and will be again. Just like with pacis, I wouldn't buy any larger size nipples than what either comes with the pack or the standard newborn flow until you know your baby will take those bottles just in case you have to switch. We also only ever had around 6 bottles total, but since I basically SAH that worked for us. If you have to send LO to daycare, obv you would need more. But again, there is some time to buy more before you go back to work if you have to try a different brand. DS preferred one brand of paci over another, and we just used them. We didn't have to switch bottles around at all, so we lucked out there.

Appointments this week? Nope. Had one last week. Reviewed my blood work. No GD, negative for antibodies, but anemic. Next appointment I get my rhogam shot.

Symptoms? Growing pains, harder to breathe, feeling heavier. Lots of movement.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Got our amazon welcome box! That's it!

Rants/Raves/Questions: I have my third cold in as many weeks. I had one right before Christmas that resulted in a sinus infection. One a few days after Christmas, and now this one.

GTKY: What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday? Trying to do things around the house so I can enjoy my Sunday!

@wagnerw & @HGRich you can transfer the milk to whatever bottle your baby will take if they don't like those bottles. I only used the bottles for the pump to pump into and for storing in the fridge, not for actual feeding.

Also I wouldn't go crazy on any one type of bottle until you know your little one likes them. If you buy 20 Nuk bottles, chances are your kids going to decide they only like tommee tippee. I'm going to buy one 3 pack of the ones I want, and if baby likes them great, I'll get more. if he hates them, Im not out a ton and move on to the next kind.

Appointments this week? nope, just had one last week. I get to do my 3 hour in 3 weeks.

Symptoms? I'm not going to lie. This is my second pregnancy and aside from having gd my first was a breeze, this one so far is going the same way.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? nothing. Besides figuring out wrist this baby is going to sleep in in our room and getting some girl clothes we're pretty set on everything.

Rants/Raves/Questions: ds and I have been horribly sick with bronchitis this past week (which gave him an ear infection) it's been pretty terrible. It's so hard to take care of a sick toddler when you hurt all over from coughing so hard. I have literally gone through a box of pads peeing myself (sorry) and I have broken blood vessels all over my face and neck. My house is a total wreck and bless my husband... who came home from work and fed, bathed, and put our son to bed. Didn't think to help pick up the house a little. *eye roll*

GTKY: What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday? ideally, doing not a lot of anything. In reality, it's the same thing I do every day. Lol

@HappyAnjel Thanks for the advice! We registered for 3 different brands of bottles- just one box of 3 for each. We figure we will start with one and if LO doesn't like it try another. We can always return whatever brand doesn't work!

@wagnerw it depends on your insurance. I didn't need a script for mine. I went through aero flow company and they did everything for me and I got to choose between 9 pumps.

@wagnerw I agree with @Limie. All my insurance needs is a receipt. But you might need a prescription so I'd definitely find out!
