  • 1. One 13 month DS
    2. Last time I had severe, constant HG. This time my nausea is not as bad and not constant, which you would think would be great, but it makes me crazy worried every time I'm feeling ok, or every day that I didn't throw up, that something is wrong!
    3. Jan 13 is my 8 week ultra sound.when I see the baby's heartbeat then, I'll stop my constant worrying
    4. No rants or raves, just praying for a healthy pregnancy and appreciating debilitating nausea that I didn't last time!
    5. Anyone have what I have? Brief periods of time that you feel ok, and worry about your baby? Ahh good outcome stories?
    6. Read a book or watch Netflix
  • @chayamosko I think it's totally normal for us to worry about what we can't see/feel. I think we all go through this from time to time, even if we do have the symptoms. Try to remember every pregnancy (and child) are different  :)

  • 1. How many kiddos do you have? A 4 yo SS and a 19 mo DS

    2. How is this pregnancy different from your others so far?

MS like my second. I am much more exhausted, but it could be because I'm chasing a toddler all evening and nursing all night.

    3. Any upcoming appointments? First OB appt on the 20th Which seems like forever away! Last time I had seen the Ob (and baby) twice by now..

    4. Rants/Raves

Nothing sounds good to eat but I am always hungry!!!!

    5. Questions

    6. GTKY: When you get "me time" away from the kid(s), what do you enjoy doing?

I hate leaving the baby after being at work all day, but if I had "me time" I would probably workout or go out to eat with friends.

@chayamosko I am the same way! I have a previous loss so I am constantly worrying and questioning everything....

    1. How many kiddos do you have?
    1 DD

    2. How is this pregnancy different from your others so far?  Starting to feel similar now that the constant nausea is fadding

    3. Any upcoming appointments? Had one this week next one will be Jan 30

    4. Rants/Raves: raving about how awesome my ob appointment went! I was so nervous and it went so great! They told me they do ultrasounds at every appointment to check for growth so that caught me off guard but I'm pretty excited to see baby again so soon.

    5. Questions

    6. GTKY: When you get "me time" away from the kid(s), what do you enjoy doing? Haha what...?
On the rare occasion I'm alone I clean as much as humanly possible before DH and DD come home.
If I'm the one out alone I move at a glacial pace doing everything as slow as I can manage.

@chayamosko I agree with previous posters. It's pretty normal to feel that way. Especially as first trimester symptoms start easing and you get stuck in this weird place where you can't feel baby yet and aren't having a lot of symptoms anymore. It makes for a really stressful few weeks between appointments.

  • 1. How many kiddos do you have? 3- DS is 6, DD1 is 4, DD2 will be 2 in March.

    2. How is this pregnancy different from your others so far? They've all be alike in ways and different in others. This time, I seem to be hungrier, mainly because it makes me feel better. I just don't remember the whole eating to quell nausea thing from the previous 3.

    3. Any upcoming appointments? Well. I've interviewed one midwife and thought I was choosing them and birthing in their birth house/center. Had a dating ultrasound. Changed my mind on the midwife and have another interview with a midwife I'm fairly sure we are using based on our phone conversation (good vibes!), things I've heard from trusted sources, and the fact that my old, beloved OB backs her. Going with her means a homebirth, and while we were initially leaning toward the birth center, I'm feeling really great about the decision to birth in our home (pending a nice, uneventful pregnancy).

    4. Rants/Raves- Our family has SO MUCH to say about the homebirth thing. I can only spew statistics and facts sweetly before I begin to get snippy. The sweet time is running out.

    5. Questions

    6. GTKY: When you get "me time" away from the kid(s), what do you enjoy doing? Date nights with my handsome husband where I can eat and converse without interruption from three little people, slowly browsing Target alone and adding unnecessary treats to my cart, getting my hair done, and occasional pedicures and lunch dates with my mama.

  • 1.  1 dd, 4 y/o

    2. Different, idk. It was so long ago lol

    3. STILL waiting for my first appointment. 10 days to go. I am pretty sure I'll be getting a dating ultrasound. I should be around 10 weeks when I go in. I'll try and figure out my ticker once I have a date.

4/5. Not so much this time.

    6. Me time? Ha! I have a spa gift card from almost two years ago that I still need to use. I suck at doing things for me. I guess you could count running but that is usually in the treadmill and dd likes to come in and ask a million questions. So still not fully me time.

I want to try for a vbac but don't plan on telling my family. Too many opinions that don't matter. Be supportive or be quiet. If you, your partner, and midwife are all on the same page with a home birth, that's what matter the most.

  • How many kiddos do you have? 1 son, he's 18 months old

How is this pregnancy different from your others so far? I haven't thrown up. I've come close, but it hasn't happened. I puked my guts out with DS

Any upcoming appointments? Wednesday I have to go for a "new" OB appointment. They would normally do a pap, but I just had one before getting pregnant.  I will have blood work, though.

Rants/Raves?  So glad to not be working this time and having a toddler gives me an excuse to nap.

Questions? Any chance section Mamas having any discomfort around their scars?  I think I read about it being normal somewhere, but my pregnant brain can't remember where.

GTKY: Like many of ya'll, wandering around Target. Also, Hobby Lobby.  I have a small crafting business (I work with vinyl) out of my home, so I enjoy crafting.  I love taking baths and reading on my kindle.

  • Thanks, @Kudlica27 @bumpybump @Nxy always good to have support! I'm actually feeling horrible right now, but I'm happy about it! Last pregnancy I didn't appreciate it at all first trimester because off the nausea. I think this time I'm more aware of what I have to lose, God forbid!
  • Should have kept my fat mouth shut about not throwing up. Made it to 9 weeks and 1 day and I throw up trying to swallow my prenatal vitamin.
  • 1. How many kiddos do you have? A 3 year old DD

    2. How is this pregnancy different from your first? I haven't thrown up, I just have horrible headaches. I also don't have severe food aversion and no smell a versions.

    3. Any upcoming appointments? Jan 9th if my first

    4. Rants/Raves Figuring out what to eat is hard. I don't have smell a versions but I have all types of mental thoughts on food and it changes often. My headaches also make me want to hide in bed all day. My husband let me yesterday and entertained my daughter the whole time but I want to be present too and I am bad to work Tuesday

    5. Questions

    6. GTKY: When you get "me time" away from the kid(s), what do you enjoy doing? Actually me alone time, I don't know what that is lol. I like browsing target or ulta alone. I also work at painting with a twist which allows me to paint, something I love but never get alone time for until I took the job.
My husband and I like to board game. We do that when the kiddo does to bed and also have game nights. We just took a cruise where all we did was play board games. My daughter likes to watch and I can't wait until she can play with.
  • @SouthernMama15 I have the same problem. I switch to gummie prenatals until I am past the MS phase. I get free prenatals, so it kills me to spend $10-20 on a bottle, but it's worth it not to throw up.
  • 1. How many kiddos do you have?

    1

    2. How is this pregnancy different from your others so far?

It's pretty similar at this stage.

    3. Any upcoming appointments?

First appointment on Wednesday! I'm kind of nervous. I had such a good experience with my first OB practice, I hate that I have to go to a different one for this pregnancy. I just hope I like them.

    4. Rants/Raves

I had a 24 stomach bug / fever, and with morning sickness on top of that... It was bad. And then DD caught it before I was fully recovered. What a miserable few days! But I'm happy to say that DD is better and that some foods are my friend again.

    5. Questions

I have to take my 14 month old to my appointment with me on Wednesday. Any advice? I'm envisioning her screaming the whole time she is confined to her stroller.

    6. GTKY: When you get "me time" away from the kid(s), what do you enjoy doing?

By myself, I love reading books and knitting. DH and I like to play board games and go hiking.
  • @gipfish we took our 2.5 yr old with us to the first appointment. DH was with me too. She mostly sat in a chair during the ultrasound, appointment, and blood work. When I had my bloodwork done, I admit we gave her our phone to keep her in one place.

Around the age you mention is when I started taking DD to the dentist with me and was really surprised how well she's done. I just gave her toys or books and she kept herself occupied in the stroller. The last two times they bring a small chair into the room for her and she "reads" and checks on me.

    Good luck!
