Rants/Raves/Randoms? Im going to Ikea this weekend and Im pumped.  My DH is super into getting the house done before baby comes and so we are tackling the organization battle by going to Ikea to get some storage solutions! I love Ikea.

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: Did you or anyone in your family buy anything for your baby already? (totally stole this one from July) No, but my mother is already suggesting names, all Girl too (oh and I dont like any of them)!  My DH's family is all boys, and his mom is totally like "your going to have a boy" So I want a girl to spite her, but I truly don't care, I just want a healthy baby.  Buttttt my mom on the other hand really wants a girl, and might be disappointed if its a boy! UGH

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Why can't husband's remember things you tell them?  Ugh!  I'm the one with pregnancy brain, not you!

    Questions? Nope.

GTKY: Did you or anyone in your family buy anything for your baby already? (totally stole this one from July). Lol...my GTKY in the ticker for today was similar. But I didn't steal it from anywhere :). Our family doesn't know yet as we haven't announced. We bought a double stroller at Black Friday though.

no, they know not to.   we had a MC (before we had my son), so I definitely would not want any gifts given during the first tri.

Anyone have an appointment this week? No... but next week!

Rants/Raves/Randoms?  I got a prescription for my nausea. I walk and move around a lot at work and it was really hindering my ability to do that. Fortunately, my doctor was very understanding. However, I have noticed that I always throw up salads when I try to eat them. Obviously, this baby does not want to be healthy! Haha

Questions?  Any else have lower back cramping? I prefer standing and moving because sitting kills my back!

GTKY: Did you or anyone in your family buy anything for your baby already? (totally stole this one from July). Not yet! We decided that we're going to wait a little longer before making any purchases. However, DH is already looking at plans to build a crib so I'm sure the wood for that will be the first thing bought!
  • @mokay19 do you have a pregnancy pillow? That really helped me when I was pregnant with DS.

    nothing at the moment

GTKY: Did you or anyone in your family buy anything for your baby already? (totally stole this one from July)
Nothing yet. My husband told me my MIL wants to go out and buy something but that it's more for me than the baby. Idk what it is.

@littlebug2010 I've never been to ikea! People always say they can spend forever in there. The closest one is a couple hours away from us.

@mokay19 hope the medicine helps! My insurance wouldn't pay for it until I tried something else before it. So my doc recommended unisom and B6 but fortunately I haven't needed it.

  • @TheMrs Ikea is great!  I live about 45 minutes (depending on traffic) from ours.  And yes, its a whole day experience.  Ours is two floors, the top has the restaurant (and yes the food is awesome), then all the show rooms.  Then you go down stairs and you see the market place, where you pick up the small stuff and then there is the large room for all the large boxed items.  Its all serve yourself, so it takes a lot of time to get through the whole thing.  But totally worth it.

  • @mokay19 DH was going to build our nursery furniture (crib & dresser/changing table) the first time around but then we found an amazing deal on a three-piece set that we couldn't pass up. I'd love to see the end result!

@littlebug2010 @TheMrs probably a UO but I felt overwhelmed when I went to IKEA when I lived in Atlanta, GA.  I had no need for stuff there and didn't buy a thing.  I was there with my then BF who needed stuff and he didn't buy anything either. I've never stepped foot in one since.

  • @bumpybump I think thats exactly why they say its a make or break for a relationship.  You have to go in knowing what you might need and plan on spending a lot of time. You also have to be prepared to dig for things in the marketplace.  We have bought most of our furniture there, and this time around we are going for some small organizing things.  We have no plan to buy large furniture this time.

  • @britvahok I don't currently have a pregnancy pillow. I just use my pillow pet.... which maybe isn't sufficing!

@TheMrs yea I had been taking B6 and ginger stuff and eating small frequent meals and eating a light snack during the night. I think that's why she was willing to prescribe something!
Also, my skin is so embarrassing. I usually don't wear makeup and since getting my BFP I've literally almost warn it every day because I have to hide my face!

@bumpybump he built our large kitchen table and I love it so I have high hopes for him! I'm sure that he'll claim he needs more tools for this (insert eye roll) haha but I'll show you guys when it gets going!
  • @mokay19 my friend gave me this pillow when I was pregnant with DS. It was amazing!!!! I highly recommend it!

  • @mokay19 my DH is a "right tool for the job" guy so you should see his shop. IMO, he has too much stuff that mostly goes unused. Maybe someday it'll all be used though. His next project is out hall tree in the mud room. I've been waiting for that for 5 years now...

@littlebug2010 wow that place sounds huge! You're definitely making me want to go lol. Similar to what @bumpybump said though I do get overwhelmed in big stores (no thanks Forever 21) but knowing exactly what I'm looking for helps. Figure I'll go at least once and see what I think.

How far along are you? I think 7w4d, doc said 6w1d based on US yesterday

Anyone have an appointment this week? Yesterday... you guys know all about it

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Just nervous. Didn't want to post an ultrasound or check in, but I might as well. I was pretty confident I was doing well with no MS other than nausea and the chances of MC were pretty low at where I thought I was, but now I have no clue. My boobs and stomach have deflated a lot. It's nerve wracking and there is nothing I can do to tell if this is a miscarriage except wait for the next ultrasound. DH wants me to keep moving as if nothing is happening. He made me go with him to a sit-down lunch after the doc and I bled through the panty liner I was wearing. Then he expected me to go to the pharmacy with him to get my prescription and pads and then to the dry cleaner and then to buy him a new coat at the mall. Today he asked about going to his parents' for dinner. Just because the doc said not to worry doesn't mean I'm not still bleeding constantly. He thinks it's normal to bleed in early pregnancy and that I'm focusing on it and being negative and that I could somehow turn it into a miscarriage by negative thinking. Are you kidding me? I want to be in my bed and near the toilet. I'm not depressed, but I certainly don't want to be walking around in public and especially not talking to family. (I told my family and he told his when they called to check in.) He also kept waking me last night to force me to eat and drink. I get that he doesn't know what to do, but trust me that I can make decisions for myself... and stop with the superstitiousness! He also keeps taking my phone away periodically because he thinks it will make me nuts.

    Questions? Nope.

GTKY: Did you or anyone in your family buy anything for your baby already?

MIL bought us a Sophie teether with book. My twin sent me The Belly Book to fill out. I'm waiting until our next ultrasound to even think about it.

@NYTino24 I am so sorry! I hope that you are able to find answers soon and that your DH realizes that you know what's best for you. I am sorry but I wasn't able to find your previous post so forgive me if you went this route. Are you able to talk to someone else? Maybe a doula, midwife or another MD?

  • @jpearl2037 That's because I accidentally posted on the TTGP board. Still feel terrible, but they wanted updates so I kept it going. I also posted in our TTGP grad group like I meant to originally and in the ultrasound thread. I'm stuck in bed / on the couch and have probably been posting too much, but I'm trying to keep sane. I talked to the AFMM doc's nurse and should be seen for more bloodwork and another ultrasound next week before another OB appointment, so fingers crossed we see growth and a heartbeat. Things have seriously calmed since last night, but I would give anything to have my fuller, sore boobs and bloated stomach back so I could at least feel more pregnant.

@NYTino24 did I read on the high risk board that they did or did not see a subchorionic hemorrhage causing the bleeding? Regardless, did the doc suggest bed rest for the bleeding? That's usually what they suggest. I hope when you go back baby is growing and the heart beat is still there. I've been there; it is a horrible position to be in. Hang in there.

@Sugargirl1019 OB did not see a reason for the bleeding. She did not suggest anything other than seeing GP to treat sinus infection and high risk OB to discuss blood work. She said I didn't have to restrict movement or anything, but to not lift (helped students move desks the day before it happened and picked up nieces and nephews from Christmas on) and to avoid sex for a while. I have spent most of my time on the couch or in bed with my legs up when I get too crampy. Moving around more today and in the bathroom less thankfully.

How far along are you? 9 weeks 4 days

Anyone have an appointment this week? I had an appointment just to get all the blood drawn, pap smear, all that uncomfortable crap.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Why are people looking for drama here or want threads for drama? Is that what BMBs are for?

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: Did you or anyone in your family buy anything for your baby already? (totally stole this one from July) No they won't buy anything until we find out the sex of the baby. I'm sure if it's a girl my mother will have floor to ceiling things for her. She has all grandboys and is dying for a girl but will still love to have another boy just as much.
  • @NYTino24 I'm sorry you are going through that. FX everything is alright.
  • @shan870 I feel the same way about the drama and whiny threads! It's annoying that people think they have to keep starting a thread specifically for themselves. Then all of the check-ins and actually helpful info gets pushed down.
  • @mokay19 witch hazel is an astringent that you can pick up in drug stores.  I happened to pick my bottle up at Target.  I wipe it on with a cotton ball or pad.  It can dry out your skin, so I would keep up your moisturizing routine.  I didn't notice my skin becoming too dry when I used it in the summer, but definitely noticed it in the drier winter air.

I love witch hazel! I use this toner for moisturizer (it doesn't dry me out at all, opposite without making me oily like lotion!)

also, this face wash is amazing. It does dry me out, but then the witch hazel toner helps moisturize. I have used these even in a super cold, dry climate.
