I want this right now! I think if I have fun new recipes to try I'll be motivated and inspired to continue to eat well and not give into silly cravings!

Anyone else?

  • This isn't anything super exciting, but I saw this recipe for broccoli chicken stir fry the other day and have been thinking about it ever since...

  • @HollyGolightly09 that looks incredible, and easy! I'm about to have only enough energy to sleep and easy is another very important factor in what im cooking!
  • I love eating local fresh organic produce, meats and cheeses etc. I am also a huge meal planner.  I would love to start a weekly dinner plan thread!  Love hearing others ideas.  My go to everyday is a green smoothie in the afternoon.  I am not able to swallow my prenatal so I blend it with my smoothie. Lately I have been very into omelets.  Huge ones with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese!  I have had one every day so far this week!
  • Found this on fitmencook.com (you all know why I was there lmao)
its called I can't believe I'm not cheating baked avacado fries!

    For the avocado:

    • 1 medium sized avocado (choose or ask for a medium ripe one)
    • ½ cup panko crumbs or homemade breadcrumbs.
    • 1 egg white
    • 1 tsp Mrs. Dash seasoning, your choice of flavor.

    For the dip sauce:

    • 1 tsp chopped garlic
    • ½ cup Greek yoghurt
    • 1 -2 tbsp lime juice
    • 2 tbsp Chopped cilantro (optional)
    • Sea salt and pepper to taste

    Steps:

    1. Pre-heat an oven to 375 F
    2.  To prepare the dip, mix all ingredients in a bowl and season with sea salt and pepper.
    3. Remove the stem piece from your avocado and place a sharp knife in the center of the small dent.
    4. Press the knife down until your knife touches the seed. Rotate the knife around the seed until you reach the top of the avocado on the other side of the seed.
    5. Take the avocado in both hands and make a clockwise twist with your right hand. Now you have two half’s, the one with the seed in your left hand. Tap the seed with your knife and make an anti clockwise twist. The seed will come out.
    6. Slice the avocado in even wedge shape slices, (about 5 per half avocado), remove the skin, if necessary with the help of a spoon.
    7. Season the panko crumbs with Mrs Dash seasoning and whisk the egg white slightly in a separate bowl.
    8. Dip the avocado slices in the egg white, then in the seasoned panko crumbs and place them on a baking tray and bake in the pre-heated oven for 25 minutes. Check half way the time and turn the wedges to get an evenly golden brown and crispy result.
    9. Serve the avocado fries with the yogurt dip.

@sableeg I thought this might be a better thread for recipe swapping  :)  This is my second whole30 and most of my recipes are from pinterest or from sharing with friends who are doing it too. I try to keep it simple, breakfast is usually eggs mixed with veggies.  I use extra oil for a fat. Lunch I like to do salads with chicken, tuna, etc.  or leftovers. Sometimes I make this and eat at lunch for a few days:

I also have a really yummy homemade spaghetti sauce that we use with spaghetti squash if you want it.

  • Here is the spaghetti sauce recipe! https://nataliehodson.com/30-minute-easy-homemade-spaghetti-sauce-with-ground-turkey/

Just as a heads up, I am doing a Whole30 so all recipes I share are gluten, dairy, soy, legume and sugar free. They are all yummy though and I have made them even when I'm not doing a Whole 30 :)

  • I made this Santa Fe Chicken last weekend and we ate it in wraps.  I made a batch of quinoa and ate the leftovers over that for lunch this week. It's so good! I add some chipotle hot sauce too

  • Yum!  We actually had spaghetti squash spaghetti last night!  We baked veggie/egg/sweet potato "muffins" with prosciutto "wrapper" and have been having those for breakfast.  So yummy!  Lunch is usually leftovers and dinner is some experiment.

    I just had a thought...is prosciutto ok?

  • @sableeg usually it's compliant and it's fine for pregnancy.  (I'm not sure which you were asking).  Generally prosciutto is only made with pork and salt but if you want to be 100%, just read the label to make sure there's no sugar.

  • I make a ton of lettuce wraps with grilled chicken. Super easy and you can change up what you put on it. Normally I just grill chicken and put it in the lettuce then add hot sauce and a small amount of cheese. My husband likes ranch added as well which does take away from the healthy a bit but you can moderate it.
  • @spiderlover25 I was more concerned about pregnancy :) Thanks!

  • @sableeg Since you heated it up, it doesn't fall into the listeria in lunch meat category.  However, to debunk a myth, you can eat lunch meat and pasturized cheese in pregnancy if you choose to!  It is actually more common to see listeria outbreaks from other sources than from lunch meat.  If you google "listeria outbreak"  You will come across a lot more articles about packaged salads and vegetables.  Just to be safe, here is a list of what to avoid: https://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-health/foods-to-avoid-during-pregnancy/
