DS code browned the bathtub last night, so I made and ate an entire cheese pizza as a treat for myself after I finished cleaning it up. My OB told me I need to gain some more weight, soooo...
@SnarkasaurusRex Side note: If you don't mind me asking, how much have you gained so far? I'm really nervous for my appt on Monday, because I haven't gained much and I don't want to be yelled at.... I was supposed to gain between 15-25 lbs (started this pregnancy slightly overweight) and I think I've only gained like 3 or 4 lbs...
@KirstinH88 I'm at -2, haha, which is better than the -5 I was at a month ago, so progress, I guess? Baby is measuring fine, I just haven't had much of an appetite and haven't been working out as much (I can definitely tell that I've lost some muscle tone). I started out maybe 10 pounds overweight to begin with (at least compared to my pregnancy with DS). She's not super worried, since I didn't put on a lot of weight until 3rd tri last time, but she's still keeping an eye on it.
@SnarkasaurusRex Thanks. I figure that as long as baby is growing on track (which he is) and my uterus is growing right along with him (we will find out on Monday, but I have no reason to believe it isn't), then the amount of weight gain shouldn't be an issue, right? With DS I only gained 17 lbs and I was not in the "overweight" category before the pregnancy.
FFFC: I am completely inappropriate with DS. I tell him he's sexy. Sometimes when he is changing his clothes and his shirt is off he will say, "Mom, look at me, I'm so sexy." HAHA! And we closed-mouth kiss and then wiggle our heads (like making out, but with no tongue). I walk around naked with him (he's 4). I'm sure there is more that I can't think of right now. But my sister tells me all the time how inappropriate I am with him. Oh well...
Dangers of Bump-ing at work: I had a thread open (from a different board) and I totally printed that thread instead of the work email I needed to print. Didn't realize that's what I had done until I was 40 pages in. Good thing we recycle....
FFFC: we need groceries and I don't feel like shopping so I stopped and got my daughter a kids meal on the way home from preschool so I didn't have to go. Seriously my fridge has water, a yogurt and like 3 blackberries in it.. it's pretty bad.

Haha! Well its good to know that our kids won't doubt that they're good looking, especially when you have us Momma's constantly reminding them! After DS brushes his teeth (and then I floss them) I make him look in the mirror and smile to show off his chompers. I then say "woo hoo, look at that handsome bebe! Yeaaaa bebe! What a handsome boy!" And so now he's been walking around saying "yea bebe!" I just hope he doesn't say this to any of the girls at daycare!
FFFC: My mom bought me some Poo-Pourri as a stocking stuffer this year, and I actually enjoy going potty at work now! I'm no longer ashamed!

To the bolded! Everyone used to tell me that he's going to start telling people they are sexy. But he doesn't. He only uses it in reference to himself. And I told him that we don't say sexy in public. Its only a word that we can say in our own home. I figure that my child won't have any self-esteem problems, maybe ego problems, but that's another issue.
@KirstinH88 I could go on and on about how important it is for kids to be comfortable with nudity. They need to know boundaries, yes, but I just think it's normal for our kids to see us changing and stuff. One of my favorite routines with DD is that she helps me take my baths every few days. She loves to wash my hair (I love it too).
My confession is that it's my last day of vacation (besides the weekend obviously) and I'm planning on accomplishing absolutely nothing during nap right now except watching some Project Runway and maybe eating some chocolate. Life can suck it.

@SnarkasaurusRex that sucks!! We even got a bonus day because we got the 23rd off as well. My district is very generous with breaks (a whole week in Oct, a week for Thanksgiving, a week for Spring Break), but we barely even have 8 weeks in the summer and teachers are back in July. I think it all evens out in the end.

@cafedisco I change my clothes in front of DS nearly everyday. He is 16 months old, and likes to "tickle" the backs of my thighs when he sees them. It is super cute because he goes "tee-tee-tee-tee" and laughs hysterically. @HappyAnjel I do the same thing sometimes.
My FFFC is that I accepted a used car seat from the owner of my company, with no intention to use it- because he really wanted me to have it, and I didn't want to tell him no. It is in perfectly good condition, but is a little dated. I need to look at the expiration- but it was manufactured in 2012. DS has a great car seat for each of our cars, and this LO already has an infant seat.
I went to the store for dinner items and grabbed a bag of organic sour patch kids type chewy candy, opened them in the car, and stashed them in the glove box. Hubby and I are both "watching our empty calories". I guess I'm just watching them a little more closely when I drive?
@rachelmiller03 are you in any sort of community fb group for where you live? I bet you can find a family in need to pass it on to-as long as it isn't expired, but sounds like it has a year or two of use left.

My midwives keep a local group for all their current and past clients. They have weekly play dates and get togethers but it's all during the week. I wrote a "will you be my friend?" post to working moms and no one has answered.
I feel like a dummy in middle school again. Lol, I know it's not a big deal, but I had to work up some nerve to post in the first place!

@KirstinH88 I don't know...?! I haven't been joining in conversations on there because it's a lot of nursing stuff or things I literally cannot say anything about (like natural remedies or things like that) so maybe they're just like "who is this chic?" I don't know. When I was a SAHM, I found it 10x easier to meet other moms.

I feel a little like a spoiled brat right now, but I have NO desire to use any of the baby stuff SIL has "let" me borrow for LO (aka dumped on me). My excuse will be that it's all too boyish and off season, but I really have no desire to go through any of the clothes or toys. I'd rather have new things or buy my own stuff.

Thanks for the birthday love, ladies! Had a nice weekend filled with snow, sushi, sweets, basketball games for my older kiddos, a toddler birthday party and, lots of house projects ... that's about how things usually go in these parts, ha! Hope you all have a wonderful week.
@cafedisco I haven't made a single friend since having kids. The only friends I have, I had before kids. I don't know how to meet people while working full time since ALL THE EVENTS are during working hours. (this makes me rage in case you can't tell)
@pammasu0909 my theory is just that it's way harder for working moms to organize events. I keep thinking I'll just put something together myself. But when would I organize that?! And this is NOT a knock on SAHMs, it's just my thought behind why there's nothing ever, ever on the weekends/evenings. Sigh.

Ditto. I found a moms stroller running group when I was still on maternity leave with DS that I really liked, but I had to quit as soon as I went back to work because they ONLY did things on weekday mornings. Such a bummer.
I also ran into an issue because I had joined a mom's support group in my area that was fairly crunchy (and to be fair, I consider myself to be crunchier than most, but not uber-crunchy...I am an environmental scientist by trade). I joined before I had DS because I really wanted a med-free birth with no-to-minimal interventions and I am very pro-breastfeeding, so I wanted all the tips and tricks they had to share. The majority of them were SAHMs who side-eyed me when I said I planned to go back to work. Once DS was born (via emergency c-section) and I had to start supplementing with formula (due to failure to thrive and supply issues), I got shamed outta there sooo fast. It sucked, and I don't think I was really prepared for people to be so damn judgmental as a FTM. The worst part was that the majority of the shaming came from one of my good friends, who had encouraged me to join the group in the first place (we're not really friends anymore).
And I'm absolutely not saying that all SAHMs are clique-y like that (most of my friends are SAHMs are not local, and they're lovely), just sharing an experience that I had and empathizing with those who've said it's hard to make mommy friends when you're a working mom
