Re: IVF July 2017 Moms

  • That is the one we are going for tomorrow.  So excited and am hoping we get the results back soon.  Of course, primarily to get peace of mind regarding possible abnormalities, but I am so excited to find out the sex.  Glad you got to see the feet moving - that is so awesome!  So much fun!  I cannot wait until tomorrow!

Sorry if too personal - but did you do an internal or external ultrasound today?  When I was pregnant with my first, we had an internal at 7 weeks and then at 8 weeks we had a scare and did an external and it was so much clearer!  He looked like he was dancing around.  I am hoping for an external ultrasound tomorrow.

  • @KM2J it was internal and really quick good luck! how long will it take to get results? how exciting !

  • Unfortunately we did not get to do the test today, as we went in for our appointment at 10 weeks 5 days and there was no longer a heartbeat.  Pretty devastating after all we have been through. I will be signing off, but I wish all of you ladies happy and healthy pregnancies.  I am thankful I have my little boy and will turn my attention to focus on him for now.  I wish you alll the best.

  • I'm so sorry to hear that @KM2J you're in my thoughts and prayers
  • Oh no, I am so sorry @KM2J. Thinking of you and wishing you and your family the best.

  • Hi all! I'm a fellow IVFer due in July. My first IVF attempt was in 2014 and was unsuccessful. Our second was a fresh transfer on April of this year which sadly resulted in a miscarriage at 10 weeks. We transferred our frozen little love I October and I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow. I saw the heartbeat and great growth at both 8 and 9 weeks but I'm still really nervous!! It'll be so nice to have a chance to talk with you all who know the crazy roller coaster of fertility treatments!
  • Congratulations @KerrieHarms! Excited to hear about your journey! I'll be 11 weeks on Tuesday, anxiously awaiting my 12 W ultrasound since I haven't had one since 9W, hoping everything turns out ok! Can't wait to stop these progesterone injections my butt is suffering lol, keep us updated!
  • Hi ladies!  I hope everyone is doing well.  I am 8w5d and had another us today - Dr says everything looks great and is taking me off the estrogen this week.  He thinks I'll stop the progesterone next week.  I am soooo nervous.  Each week is a blessing.  I am now starting to feel more anxious as I approach the end of the 1st tri and am being weened off the hormones. I have tried to keep the "anything can happen" attitude - but I know I will be devastated if anything happens.

All of you ladies are in my t&p!!  I believe the struggle and anxieties are different for those of us that have struggled with IF.  Happy Holidays!  I truly hope they are merry and bright!

  • Thanks for the words of encouragement @BoTor091314! Glad you're doing well! You're in my thoughts as well! Anxiously awaiting 12 wUS next Tuesday then the big announcement to the parents lol. Keep us updated! Hope everyone has a great holiday!
  • Hello IVF friends! Our transfer was Nov. 4, first positive beta Nov. 14. I'm now 9w3d. I finished PIO on Friday and it is so freeing - the last thing I wanted to do every night, while feeling crappy, was put a shot together and go through all of the motions.
  • Hello ladies!! I had an ultrasound today and our little baby is measuring right in track at 10 weeks 6 days! We heard the heartbeat and my doctor assured me that everything looked good. When I got home I made the mistake of going on google and I see that the fetal heart rate of 118 is on the low side. Does anyone know if I should be worried about this?! I'm of course freaking out now...
  • @KerrieHarms - don't freak.  I think that most RE/OBs like to see something over 100bpm.  If Dr says everything looked good, trust you Dr!!  I honestly believe that most REs have seen the best and worst of things - and have experience with all kinds of IF issues.

I guess I have started to trust my RE more - I liked him from the beginning, but I think that we have "bonded" more recently.  In some situations (like after my fist beta and us) his tone with good news has been more shocked than anything (almost like he is surprised that things are going so well...wtf, I know).  I believe that he genuine and cares.

While I am sure that the $$ is quite good in RE - I honestly believe that the team I have been working with loves their job and thinks it is an honor to be a part of such an important thing in women's lives.  The struggle is real - and can feel quite tough and lonely.

Happy Christmas to all of you ladies!!  Enjoy the holiday's with your newly emerging bump (or blump, in my case)!!  Have an extra helping of your favorite dish and hug your loved ones!!  Blessings!

  • @KerrieHarms just trust your doctor, congrats!

I also had a bad habit of googling everything, it's not good for stress I know lol I agree with @BoTor091314!

    Happy holidays everyone!
  • Thank you for the reassurance!! I emailed my amazing nurse at the fertility doctor and she agreed--- the heart rate is perfectly good and I need to stay off of google!!

Merry Christmas!! Hope you all are able to relax and enjoy some time with family.
  • Hi everyone! Had my 12 week appointment today! Disappointed that the was no ultrasound but we got to hear the heartbeat! Going strong seeing 140s. Telling our parents tonight on Skype, so excited! Hope everyone is doing well!
  • Hello! How is everyone doing? I'm patiently (not really) waiting for Panorama results, hoping for healthy baby, what's new with everyone? Haven't had an ultrasound since 9 weeks, heard heartbeat at 12, won't have another US until around 18 :(
  • Hi @ericandmaria! I'm also impatiently waiting - had my Maternit21 drawn last Wednesday afternoon but they said it'll probably be a good 2 weeks with the holidays. Are you skipping the NT scan? We didn't do PGS so we got to have one at 12+4 which was the first one my husband was able to come to since 7 weeks with the RE.
  • Hi @Chamomile ! Doctor hasn't said anything yet about the NT scan I guess it's too late already 13w1d, usually they recommend between 11 and 13 weeks; another girl on NIPT forum had blood test same day as me last week and she received her results yesterday, so I'm getting frustrated and anxious of course lol, it's probably delayed from holidays who knows, hope everything comes back on for you! I'm thinking good thoughts :) keep us updated!
  • I'm impatiently waiting too. My next appointment is the 19th and I haven't had a u/s since Dec. 7! I know I'm still pregnant, of course, but I want to SEE!
  • Hi everyone! Got our Panorama test results on 1/6, low risk and we found out baby's sex! We are keeping secret until May but we're very happy :) now just waiting for next time we hear baby's heartbeat and AFP blood draw at 16.5 week appointment then probably the anatomy scan at 20 weeks, how is everyone else's IVF journey going? Hope all is well and happy new year!
  • Hi everyone! Got into a car accident Sunday hit a deer really just side swiped the passenger rear, car and me are OK, went to doctor on Monday and baby was fine, I was feeling fine so not really worried but just went to make sure baby was OK; anyway hope you're all doing well! I'll be 18 weeks this Tuesday and doctor wants to do the anatomy scan at 19 W 1d, says she likes to do it between 19 and 20 weeks, have any of you had the anatomy scan yet? I'm so excited haven't had an ultrasound since 9 weeks
  • Car accidents are SO scary! I'm glad you're ok.

Our anatomy scan is March 3 - so excited.
  • Oh my goodness!! That is very scary. So glad to hear you and the baby are ok @ericandmaria

i am 15+3 today and my initial anatomy scan is scheduled for Feb 20th - so just before 18 weeks. Then I think I go back for the full anatomy scan at 20-21 weeks. I'm so happy that my husband will be able to make it to the initial anatomy scan so we can see all the progress our little guy has made together!

  • Great news, @SongbirdintheCity ! I'll let you know how my anatomy scan goes at 19 weeks good luck!
  • Hello! Has anyone else been told they need to do an echocardiogram ultrasound in addition to the 20 week anatomy ultrasound? My OB said they suggest it for all IVF babies because there is a slightly higher risk for heart defects...
  • Hi ladies! This is my first post on this board (namely bc I read the 'read this first' and the rules made my head spin) as I've mostly to the PaIF and PGAL boards but I see a few names I recognize on here and an IF string is where I seem to be most comfortable sharing experiences so here I am!

@KerrieHarms I had not before this week but now this is the 3rd time I've seen something mentioned. Apparently IVF babies, especially using ICSI, have a higher risk of heart defects. Not a drastically higher risk but elevated still. I have added it to my list of questions for my OB for my monthly on 2/23. My A/S is currently scheduled for 3/7. If you learn anything further please post it!

  • Welcome @byrneme !

@KerrieHarms I haven't been told that but I'll ask my OB Wednesday when I have my anatomy scan, when is your appointment?
  • I have my 20 week ultrasound today!! As of now, I have the echocardiogram ultrasound scheduled with a specialist for 3/17. I'm going to ask my OB more about it today and I'll let you guys know what she says.
  • Also, do any of you happen to be in the Denver area?!
  • Ok, I had my 20 week anatomy scan/ultrasound and everything looked "perfect" including the four heart chambers. I asked if I still needed to get the echocardiogram and she said yes, definitely. The typical ultrasound isn't high tech enough to see all of the functions and parts of the heart. She said that it's important to still do it because the echocardiogram will see any potential difficulties or abnormalities that could impact the baby not only throughout pregnancy and at birth, but throughout life. So he/she may not even have symptoms or anything at birth, and this will allow us to catch something if it's there and get it treated as soon as possible if needed. I hope that helps!!
  • Cool! I wonder why my OB didn't recommend an echo for my little one, anyway good luck!
  • Hmm thanks for the heads up @KerrieHarms. I have my anatomy scan next week and no one has brought up an echo. Will make sure to ask!

  • Thanks @KerrieHarms! I have my 20 week a/s today and my OB said they may or may not do the fetal echo, dependent on time, as well. If they don't, she said I do need to schedule a separate appointment.

@SongbirdintheCity, I honestly don't know if they would have brought it up but I did so they provided that response. I do have to say I think my OB doesn't really factor in the IVF to my pregnancy even though it's in my chart. I've taken to just being my own advocate. Good luck!

  • Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing ok! Had my oral glucose tolerance test today nervous about results hopefully it's ok! You all getting excited? DH and I put the baby changer together today and hopefully will do the rocker and crib soon too; this is the last week off that I'll actually be home until June and that's cutting it too close, anyway let me know how you guys are doing!
  • Definitely excited! We went away to Colorado about a week and a half ago. When we were there, I realized that it was the most content, relaxed I'd felt in at least 18 months. Between not being not fully staffed at work for so long, and all my IF feelings of sadness and inadequacy, I hadn't had any time to feel "good". And now I do. It makes such a difference.

Hope you're all doing well too! <3
  •  Hey everyone! Just wanted to see how you're all doing?

    Happy to hear you're well,  @PurplePumpernickel !

I'm almost 35 wks and I'm exhausted! Constipation,  hemorrhoids and pelvic pain,  plus I have an ultrasound scheduled this Thursday because DS is measuring a couple weeks bigger :( hubby has to help me put on my underwear and pants lol

    Hope you're all well!
  • Hi everyone! Baby boy came early at 36 wks,  we're doing well,  i hope all of your deliveries went smoothly!
