I'm so tired of people asking me how I am feeling and then looking disappointed when all I have to say is "good". I could tell you all the gross behind the scenes details but, I figure "good" should be the end of that. Nothing is going badly so, its good. My mom has taken to asking my husband on text how I am doing. This is after I talk to her. Obviously, he has nothing further to add. What is it she wants to know?
Also, my husband made a 6ft long farmhouse table over his Christmas vacation. He texted a finished (stained and painted too) picture to our mutual friend because she was interested in how it turned out. Her text reply was, "Well, if I had a critique, it would be to use some wood filler". WTH? It was his first wood project and it came out AMAZING! Who the hell asked for your critique? We are over the moon about it.
My stupid rant is to the weeks/months/trimester thing. People ask how far along I am, I tell them weeks...they want to know months. I don't freaking know how it works, the whole thing seems silly to me so I just keep saying "due in April"
@Taylor72, yes to the whole months/weeks thing! I always say weeks and when people ask how many months is that I'm like "Umm?" C'mon people everyone talks about pregnancy in weeks not months.
My rant today is I really wish people would stop even jokingly asking me if I'm sure it's not twins. Yes, I'm sure. I am not that big and it seriously isn't funny after the first one or two times. Just stop. What's even more frustrating is these people that are joking about it are women who have been pregnant before - I'm sure you wouldn't have thought that was funny when you were pregnant so just keep your mouth shut.
@mylittleirvz yes! I want to throat punch those people! It is so rude to comment on a pregnant woman's size like that. I got it all the time with DS and its starting back up again now. People are idiots.
@mylittleirvz yes! Even worse that it is women commenting on body size. You would think they would remember what it felt like. Today was my first day back at school after break. Bump went through a huge growth spurt in the two weeks and I've gotten so many comments about how "big" I've gotten. Well, I went from not really being able to tell I was pregnant to a definite bump. And you haven't seen me for 2 weeks, so yes it's safe to say I got bigger. Thanks for the confidence boost ✌️ Shoutout to the secretary who told me I look cute though, she knows how to make a lady feel good!
I've got a TW for today: My co-worker who told my boss that I'm not planning on returning from maternity leave. Thing is, she's dead wrong! I've never given any indication that I was considering being a SAHM because I've never given it any consideration. We toured and secured daycare back in the first trimester and I've talked extensively with my co-workers and boss about plans for returning after my 12 weeks. Anyway, my boss believed the co-worker, sent an email out to the team about how I'm likely not coming back after maternity leave, and used this as her reasoning for posting a "temporary" bid for my replacement (prior to co- worker's verbal diarrhea had not planned on posting it). What the heck?!
@thecavfamily What the actual hell? Your boss didn't call you in to his office to confirm/deny? Hopefully you were able to clear it up for him. Damn, some people can be so nosy!
@KirstinH88 Right? No, she didn't talk with me. She posted my job and then sent the email to the team. I 'replied all' and tried to save face. Hopefully that doesn't backfire. She must think that I would lie if confronted in order to keep my job prior to maternity leave. That, in itself, is a slap in the face.
@thecavfamily Even if you weren't planning on returning.. it is not up to your boss to announce that to your co workers without your OK.. I would be livid!
@thecavfamily A coworker did something similar when I was pregnant with DS...I hadn't even talked to her at all about my plans after baby, but she overheard me chatting with my department chair about how it would be nice to be a SAHM. She went and told one of the assistant principals that I wasn't coming back (even though I had already signed my contract for the next school year), so they hired someone over the summer and promised them my course load. My department chair shut it down as soon as she found out and gave him different classes, but that guy still works here and complains constantly about how he wants my classes, and the AP that hired him constantly acts like I'm not here and tries to give him all of my professional development opportunities and supplies. I haven't told her that I'm pregnant and going on maternity leave at the end of the year, but I wouldn't be surprised if, when they do scheduling in May, he suddenly has my course load for next year. Seriously, people just need to shut their dang mouths.
New rant... I'm so tired of being sick. I've seriously been sick since the end of October. This is my last pregnancy and I feel like I haven't had a chance to enjoy any of it because of this stupid plague. I've bruised my ribs, pulled muscles, and thrown up from coughing. I've taken so many meds this baby will probably have 3 heads when it's born, and yet I'm still sick. I just want to get healthy before the baby is born so I don't wake it up with my coughing. And I'd like to stop peeing myself. Not too much to ask, right? If the new doctor I'm seeing this afternoon refuses to treat me I'll probably have a mental breakdown.
@pammasu0909, girl, I am right there with you with the peeing on yourself! I am over that shit. Cough, sneeze, laugh, throw up....you name it, I'm peeing my pants. Thank God for panty liners! Good luck with the doctor today!
@pammasu0909 good luck! I feel you. I am also sturggling with a massive cold, and cough and a lot of discomfort. Unable to breathe through nose, really not fun. I just want this to end ... pregnancy is enough, thank you very much, I dont need other symptoms!"
Hope you get better soon!
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
Rant... I feel like I'm all alone with this one.. but I'm mad no one is touching my tummy! I look pregnant.. I act pregnant.. I even try to put my hands on my tummy like every maternity picture I've seen while I'm in public, but no one has asked about it, or anything. The only people besides dh who have touched my stomach are my Brother-in-Law, and my friends kid.
@JessWannaEatEverything I'm not mad about it, but no one is touching mine either. My mom didn't even try when I was home for Christmas. I guess we just know reasonable, polite people. I also live in New England, where people are famously private.

I live in New England too.. my daughter's teacher touched my belly today.. my mom always does.. mom's best friend, one co worker, my friend's sister, random lady at the vets office, I get more stomach rubs than Buddha. It doesn't really bother me anymore (well the random lady was weird). I just let em do it and get on with my day now..
@catem07 That's a great way to think about it! Even when the kid touched my belly, the mom immediately told her you shouldn't touch people without their permission. I guess I would be the same way if I was around anyone who was pregnant.
this is dumb, I know. I also know that it's going to get worse. But I seriously feel like a turtle on my shell in the middle of the night when I have to get up and go to the bathroom.
@thecavfamily I can't believe your boss didn't confirm with you, I would have flipped out on that co-worker. Hopefully they get it together and apologize to you.
@Taylor72 not dumb lol! I always describe myself rolling over or trying to get out of the bed as a turtle on it's back!
@ashleym112 Because teaching is a weird profession. I wouldn't be loosing or changing my actual job of Science Teacher if they gave me different classes than the ones I've been teaching for years, as long as they're still under the science umbrella. Crappy and shady, but I've seen this lady do stuff like this before, so it wouldn't completely shock me. The professional development stuff is just stupid, because she keeps sending a very new teacher to all of these different training and sessions for AP classes, instead of actually sending the AP teacher...she's really just wasting her budget at this point by spending it on someone who can't use any of the things they're learning for a while, but whatever.
Though, word on the street today is that she's going to retire after this school year...and not necessarily by choice. Seems like people have started to notice that she doesn't really do her job 90% of the time and that she engages in some shady things quite often.
@SnarkasaurusRex that's just such an asshole move though, even if it's technically ok. Well hopefully she is forced to retire and you don't have to deal with her crap much longer! She sounds awful!

Me: Oh, 27 weeks...a little over 6 months.
Random person: <Eyeballs my belly> So, when are you due??
Me: April 3rd. Yes, I'm going to be HUGE.
I'm sure I'm just overly sensitive, but I feel the need to blurt out what I'm sure they're thinking.
