I cut up an onion the other day. I was going to use it for a meal today. The smell was so strong and gross, I had H throw it away. I could taste onion in my ice cream that was in the freezer. It was gross. I also feel like it contaminated the cheese singles that were in the fridge too. I am kind of hating my pregnancy test buds right now.
@hup0013 Maybe you still had the oils on your hands from cutting it? I cut up a tiny shallot the other day and it took 4 hand washing sessions and a shower to get that smell out of my hands.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Maybe it contaminated the spoon @NYTino24. We had burrito bowls for lunch the other day. Really, I have no idea what happened. I do know that my tastes have changed a lot so far. I really was sad my ice cream didn't taste good though.
I've been sick for three weeks. Started as a cold. Turned into bronchitis. "possibly" pneumonia. Cracked ribs from coughing (again only "possibly" as they won't X-ray, but I still can't move without pain so I'm pretty sure they are cracked). Now so stuffy and sinus head aches. Oh and a UTI in there too.
On top of regular first trimester queezies and exhaustion.
Still pretty awful nausea. Trying to decide when to ask the doctor for meds.
Just do it. My doctor gave me diclegis without me even asking Friday (I've lost over ten pounds so far) and it has made such a difference. I feel like a human being again. A sleepy human, but a human.
Oh no, ladies! I hope everyone gets better soon. I woke up with a full blown cold today. DH was all crabby with me until he heard me try to talk and breathe.

Had brunch with friends this morning and DS was super whiny and misbehaving and my one friend there who is pregnant and due in March says, "I won't tolerate it if our baby acts like that." Ugh.
Seriously WTF on your friend @maebee87 Not only for not having a clue but also on being a rude friggen friend. Children have rough days and that's when mom's need the extra support, not some statement about totalitarian discipline.

I'm guessing she'll be a FTM? The things we say/believe before becoming parents is so different than our own realities most of the time.

@maebee87 as a ftm to be here, I would NEVER say that to any of my friends with children.. I've been around children long enough to know (children's librarian in a public library) that some days are just off days and nothing you can do or say is going to change that for them. I'm sorry you had to listen to that, shame on her for basically shaming you.. NOT NICE.
Yikes, hope everyone who is sick feels better very soon!
@maebee87 that's very rude of your friend! Even if she thinks that, it would have been better kept to herself.
My bitchfest is that I mustered up the energy to go grocery shopping today and the store wouldn't accept all of my coupons. They have (or should I say, had) a great coupon program where they send a ton customized to what you purchase and they always accepted expired ones, which are a huge help for a small household. Today, the cashier got all bitchy with me and it turns out they've recently stopped accepting the expired ones. Ugh, it's not that bad if it's dry goods, but stinks for keeping up with fresh items.
I'm so sorry so many people are sick! I hope you get well soon!
@maebee87 you are doing a great job at being a mom, your friend is awful and just wait till she has her own!
My bitchfest is student loans. I'm ending a two week vacation where I had so much fun with my twins. If we didn't have all these damn student loans I could stay home with them. But No! I started saving for my kids college when they were born, I don't want them to have to worry about this!
I am an absolute waste of space from 6:30 pm on. This fatigue is so crazy this time around!! I will lay in bed immediately after dinner and won't fall asleep. It takes serious effort to move around because it feels like my body is filled with sand.
I know it's Tuesday now, but screw that. I'm bitching anyway. My asshole 2yo is not interested in potty training. We're doing this whether she like it or not. Kid only peed twice today. Both times while eating. Both times on the GD floor. I'm using Oh Crap! So she is naked today. We are in a fight. She is winning. But this will happen. I'm not training her when I'm a thousand months pregnant. And I'm certainly not changing her diapers when I have aNB in the house with 400 diapers a day.
@Cryssteen good luck with PTing. I will say that if they aren't ready, they aren't ready and there's not much we can do about it. Believe me when I say you'd rather they're ready than dealing with accidents for months on end. We had started and stopped until she asked to start.

Short term disability is my BF today. I signed up for it in October, and only now I'm getting the exam. I'll probably be denied bc pregnancy is a 'pre-existing condition', and even if they approve it bc I wasn't pregnant when I enrolled, I'll probably have a long wait period that excludes me anyway. I just started this job, so it literally leaves me with maybe a month max of paid maternity leave. We can't afford for me to have unpaid leave. This sucks.

I'm in a similar boat. I upped my short term disability in December. Found out I was prego about a week later. I am losing out on thousands. She said if I was pregnant before Feb 1st it's considered preexisting. I was hoping to stay home the whole 12 weeks this time, but I can't do it unpaid...
@ColoradoHiker@Kudlica27 I'm having an issue with STDI too. I'm pissed because my deductions were late due to Aflac's mistake. I got "dropped" and they refunded my premium, but my payroll is still doing deductions. Pregnancy wasn't a preexisting condition for me then and I will fight tooth and nail for them to assume responsibility for the mistake since I can't reapply.

@Cryssteen we did a potty chart with stickers and so many stickers earned her a reward (small reward nothing huge) and at the end we went to the toy store and she got to pick out a 10$ toy. Now I'm not huge into bribes with kids but she was potty trained by the end of that chart. We started when she was just shy of 2.5 and she's been awesome. DH had way too much fun making the chart not to share it.
@Cryssteen good luck! Potty training is very hard, but the truth is, it will only happen when they are ready and it never works when they feel forced it's really hard when inconvenient for us, but kids will be kids and we can't control them! Best of luck to you! I hope you have an easy time !!
